Property Ratings at Parkwood Village Apartments
Here is my official review and I mean this sincerely. That apartment was the worst decision. The water was disgusting, the neighbors were mean, the carbon monoxide nearly killed us several times and the squirrels lived in the walls and woke us up all the time. Our heat didn’t work approximately 6 times, it was dark, dated, smelled bad, had black mold, constant power outages, and maintenance never replaced lightbulbs or detectors in common areas. The constant chirp of a fire detector outside our door was so much fun!! Anyway, I feel like y’all should see this and never rent from them. I additionally think it's important that you know we are working professionals. We paid our rent on time every month for three years, and eight months. I have a master's degree and my fiance is the director of his department. We never had a party, unlike our neighbors that woke us up with loud music and partying many times. We dealt with the smell of marijuana throughout our place too many times to count. You would think that when we asked to negotiate the final few months of our lease agreement because we had finally been able to save enough to buy our home that they would have been kind and met us at least half way, but they did not. They in fact made us pay for this apartment for an additional 4 months and we did not even live in it. So essentially we spent $4,000.00 for an empty apartment.

S. Parkwood Apartment complex is a jewel surrounded and buried in a sea of other/newer cold "cookie cutter" apartments. I have lived here since 11/15. Due to health issues, I could no longer live alone in my 200 yr old home. My daughter found these apartments. Unlike the "cookie cutter" apartments these apartments have large private brick covered patios with wide ledges to put your plants on. AND....your "fur people" are welcome! How many apartments welcome your animals? NONE! The staff and maintenance crew are GREAT! Problems are handled immediately. The grounds are like a forest with all kinds of wildlife, including wild turkeys. There are hiking paths to wander on. These apartments were built in the late 60's/early 70's (when builders knew how to build) but they are clean, large rooms and pleasant. Check them out!

We are glad you enjoy the unique outdoor feel of Parkwood Village Apartments. Thank you for your amazingly heartfelt and thorough review!
We've lived on property for two years. Yes the water pressure is almost always lacking, yes the water gets shut off for the lines to be flushed (there is well water here) and the water does leave heavy deposits on dishes unless you hand wash. Yes the heating doesn't really reach the kitchen all that well but it does the rest of the place. They HAD one poor Office Manager earlier 2019, but she is gone and they now have someone very capable & friendly. The maintenance staff do come quickly and if they're not sure how to get at a problem right off the bat, they will stick it out and fix it in the end. These building are older and some things that should be accessible for quick fixing were not built into the places at its inception so some problems might take them longer to fix. This maintenance team in my opinion, is the best we've had in this area. The super has been nothing but effective and kind and I don't know if its the same man, but the person that wrote the super is an alcoholic - a sorry attempt at scaring people away and a shameful one at that. I don't know about the laundry room but my guess is one person has an axe to grind because they had a theft one time so they went to the extreme of calling it a "breeding ground" for theft. My neighbor uses it and has not had a problem in 2 years. The snow removal here is really quite good and we've had some pretty severe snow storms since we've been on property. If you ask for a bucket of salt to be left near your building's door, they will provide. The woodsy atmosphere of this complex is inviting and peaceful. We are close to 87, so at night you might hear some cars, and we are close to some train tracks because you'll definitely hear them throughout the night but I got used to it and don't even notice them anymore. They provide bags for people to use for clean up after their dogs. Their pet deposit & rent is the most reasonable in the area. Whenever maintenance has to come in, they are kind to the pets. Overall, if you need a decent roof over your head and a quiet environment for one of the best price points in this area then Parkwood is your place. They have many different floorplans so there is something that will fit you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. We really appreciate you being one of our residents and helping to share the word about us. We’re here for you anytime.
I would not lay my dog to rest here. Awful staff the super is alcoholic. Everything is done half way and cheaply. My window has been broken over 1 year still not repaired. Not to mention the rodents eating at your car. The ticks are unbearable my dog is always covered. The water pressure sucks. The carpets are dirty and smelly. Please look else wear.!

Parkwood Village Apartments is possibly the most poorly-run complex in the area. My husband and I lived there for a few years and the best experience we had was returning the keys. The office employees are incredibly rude and unprofessional at all times. Facilities appear to be whomever they could find, handy or not, and have not a clue on how to fix things efficiently. That’s if you take the risk on letting them into your unit, which I definitely don’t recommend. The laundry facility is a breeding ground for theft so you’re better off finding a laundromat nearby. You can almost set your watch by the fleet of leaf-blowers that go out to single-handedly boost the tick population in the complex. They are out there almost everyday making the piles between buildings more of a hazard for any dog or person walking near them. The apartment “manager” is an absolute joke. The overall lack of respect for their tenants is astounding. If you call to report an issue, know that they will not follow up or address the situation. You couldn’t expect them to hold their own employees accountable, especially if it encroached on their smoke breaks. Long story short, find yourself a roomy cardboard box and buy a space heater. You’ll achieve the same result but have an infinitely better time not paying through the nose for it.

If all you are looking for is big rooms this is a place for you. However, if you care about your water being turned off monthly for "maintenance" a long with any other time they are working on another apartment, steer clear. We lived in Parkwood for 1 year and ran as soon as we could. The windows mold and ice up from the inside during the winter. The heater barely heats the front room and kitchen. Joan is very nice and easy to work with, and the maintenance guys are very kind also. If you have issues(which you will) they come out super quickly. They can't always fix the problem right away but they are at least nice about it. The apartments are old and the things inside are also old, and when they break they get replaced by other old items that they have in storage. I would not recommend this location.

We are very sorry you had a bad experience back in 2018 with us. Since then, we have made many improvements at Parkwood Village. We can assure you that if you were to choose us as your home again, your experience would be much better.
This 1-bedroom/1-bath, first-floor apartment is located in a serene woodland setting surrounded by nature trails that wind through the community. It is just minutes from Clifton Park amenities. The apartment itself has a kitchen/living room combination, a full bathroom, and a large bedroom. The kitchen is small, and it is equipped with a refrigerator and stove, one wall of cabinets and not very much counter space. The living room is large enough to fit a small dining table and chairs, and a living room set. There is a coat closet located in the rear corner of the living room. The full wall of windows look out onto a grassy hill that leads to a parking lot. The bathroom is of average size located just behind the kitchen off the living room. The bedroom is spacious with a closet and a desk area. There is a window that overlooks a treed, grassy area. The apartment is not air-conditioned; however, it stays cool in the heat of the summer because of the numerous trees that block direct sunlight. The apartment has not been renovated or updated, so it shows its age. The rent is reasonable, the neighborhood is safe, and the community is peaceful.

This is a very fair review. Thank you for taking the time to write it. We have made a lot of positive updates since you lived here in 2015. So if you are ever looking to live here again, we would love to show you them, especially the updates to the things you mentioned in your review.
I recently visited Parkwood. The property seems to be very well kept. A real nice country atmosphere with many trees and hiking trails. Close to shopping and easy commute to Albany or Saratoga. Apartments are nice. Basic needs. I would've loved to live here, unfortunately circumstances wouldn't allow it at this time. I'm hoping to revisit in the near future.
