Beloved for its proximity to both the Jersey Shore and New York City, the central region of Middlesex County sits about 40 miles southwest of Midtown Manhattan. Nearby New Brunswick, home to Rutgers University, provides access to a rich, local arts and culture hub. This neighborhood is ideal for those seeking a quiet, suburban setting not far removed from nearby entertainment and amenities. Mid- and low-rise apartment communities in the northern section of the neighborhood give way to more single-family homes fit for a variety of renters. Interstate 95 and a host of other thoroughfares make commuting around the area a breeze.

Property Ratings at Parkwood Village
The staff is nice but man they refuse to get anything done
The apartment I live in is spacious and the complex in South Amboy feels safe. The regular problems are pest (insect) control and the laundry room situation. Half the machines don't work and the outside contractor doesn't take care of anything. The complex management won't change the laundry contractor. As a result, your neighbors may dump your clothes out before your machine is finished. I've had terrible mold issues and had to BEG for more than a year to get some things taken care of in my bathroom. Then I called central management and they called an outside contractor to take care of it right away. When they opened my bathroom wall, the wood was covered in black mold. They didn't spray it or even dry it. The contractors just wanted to cover it up. Their boss kept calling to rush them so the tile was put back unevenly. The poor worker kept apologizing but couldn't do anything. In short, they use outside maintenance contractors that don't provide proper service. The complex isn't bad in itself, but your quality of life isn't that good.
I live in Parkwood apartment almost 15 years. People in the office are constantly changing! Nobody is doing any job I was asking for replacing/fixing walls, kitchen and bathroom due to water damage. Frozen and bursted pipes through winter. The wood is falling apart, walls are falling apart. Had people o er and take photos for the office to approve remodeling. All I heard was a lie. This condition is not healthy! Placing a complaint to department of health! Zero stars !
I lives there for 11 years first in London Terence 1 bed room then had to move to bigger townhouse in Parkwood lived there 4 years. Basement was continuously flooded and very high level of mold presence. Complaint numerous time but they didn’t have a solution for it. They are more worried about kids playing in yard and why the chair or decoration piece in in front of the apartment then fixing things in apartment. I couldn’t deal with the headache anymore for stopping kids to play in yard when they don’t have good playing areas available in the complex was the breaking point for us. I would give them zero star if i had a chance. I will definitely not recommend this or any garden communities property in Nj to anyone
I lived there for years and I dealt with cockroaches, and mice. I had mice like living in my stove and cockroaches the size of gulf balls. They turn the water off without notice 8 in the morning while your in the shower getting ready for work. Don’t do it, it’s an nightmare!
These apartment complex doesn’t supply good heating for families. The apartment are very old building shifts alot causing the walls to crack at times. They have inexperience maintenance personnel. I wouldn’t move in this complex.
