Property Ratings at Parliament Apartments
They have more car ports than anything!!!! If you come past 5pm, GOODLUCK!!! Just know you’re gonna be putting in those steps everyday when it comes to parking. People bring multiple vehicles to “work on” and never get moved after. Oh, and don’t get me started on the amount of vehicles they break into, glass shattered on the floor, cars stolen, and vandalized, etc. No cameras and many residents come home drunk and hit cars not knowing how to park and just drive off like nothing because they refuse to install cameras and have security so everyone knows they get away with it. They are money hungry so they will spend the least on their property but do the most to get money out of you!!!! If only I could put pictures to not sound so exaggerated of the things I have seen within the small timeframe of living here. Please spend your money elsewhere, not worth it living here.
great apt, good price, good location, but absolutely horrible when you live below a neighbor where their dog is out 24 hours a day with 0 water, barking all day to where you lose sleep, being hit, with the owner not doing anything about it nor animal control, or parliament. All the reasons to move out. other than that, it’s A-ok
No parking, be prepared to walk from the main road. My vehicle was towed from my paid parking spot. First they said permits were not required and never said there was a policy change for reserved, paid spots- refuse to refund me. The hot water heater above me burst, water was running into my closet. At 3 a.m. maintenance told me to go knock on my neighbors door. Maintenance didn't show up for 36 hours and told me to just keep a trash can under the drip and empty it when it was full, as if I didn't have to go to work. I had to call and get them to bring me a fan to dry it, I seemed to be the only one who cared about water damage.
Property Manager at Parliament Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hi there. Due to the anonymity of this review, we are unable to identify you as a resident. Please stop by our office so we properly can address these claims in the most efficient way possible. Thank you and we hope to hear from you promptly.
Lived here around 6 weeks now and the property itself is wonderful. The trails, pool, landscaping and floor plans are great! My only compliant is that maintenance is not as efficient as I’d prefer. Note: the underground garage exit door has been broken since before I moved in (a friend informed me) and, there is a staircase in which the key-access handle has been broken for quite some time. These are 2 MAJOR security concerns of mine. Denver is pretty safe, however, this property doesn’t seem 100% secure — if you’re a single woman or a wary person, I may consider looking into a property that has better security.
I'm totally miserable living at Parliament Apartments. The floors are paper thin and you can hear everything! I moved in a few months ago and I live on the 2nd floor and recently I've noticed lots of noise coming from unit above. I thought to myself oh someone moved in because I haven't been bothered by the noise before. A week in and it was unbearable and I asked Parliament Management to see if there was something wrong up there because of all the banging, loud footsteps, etc. Raija the property manager said she has to ask for permission to get into the unit above to check out what was going on and told me to file a formal noise complaint with them. A couple of days later I filed the noise complaint and Raija tells me that they are doing renovating the unit above and that it'll take another 10 days or so. It's be a total of 2 months of loud noise I have to deal with. The footsteps alone are loud and makes lots of popping noises.... I'm frustrated because she should've told me in advance that they were going to do renovations and she should've told me when I asked her in person instead of lying and making up things up that there was a resident above. I highly don't recommend this place, I can't wait for our lease to be up.
I have been living at the Parliament for about a year and two months now and my entire experience has been nothing short of amazing! I moved in as a single female with a front door/patio leading to an open air stairwell and never felt like the area or community was dangerous. We had a top floor apartment which helped negate any neighbor noise and the community itself was relatively quiet at all hours of the day and night (including weekends). There are numerous patio areas with grills that can be rented for special occasions (even holidays!) and a large heated pool/jacuzzi. I will admit the heated pool still feels cold all the time, but honestly I don't want to swim when it's cold outside anyways. We recently moved into a slightly larger apartment in one of the enclosed buildings with included underground parking. This has been an amazing step up. The hallways do occasionally smell of Pot, and considering it is a drug free community it can be slightly annoying, but it is nothing you wouldn't experience anywhere else in Denver. Our move was easy and seamless. The property manager, Rajaa, is literally a life saver. She is always thrilled to see both my boyfriend and myself, is incredibly helpful especially as I was having trouble getting my rent to go through the online system (my debit cards fault), the entire staff is welcoming, my mail isn't ever stolen (because apartments suck and neighbors suck sometimes), and the renovated apartments are beautiful! I am sure no apartment can have a 100% success rate but I am more than happy to call the Parliament my home!
Pro's: the granite looks nice and doesn't clash with the cabinets Con's: my water heater was set to an unreasonable 150 degrees when I moved in and cost a fortune in gas. I realized how hot it was after nearly burning myself in the shower. My wash machine was installed improperly, had a broken hose, and was using hot water instead of cold water for three months. Guess how many sweaters and work clothes were ruined? I've received no apologies from the front office for the above problems. I'm a reasonable person and I understand that mistakes happen, but to not receive at least an apology is just disrespectful. I've seen a number of interactions in the front office that were just rude and that's my biggest complaint about Parliament. They are either incredibly incompetent and mismanaged, or there's an enormous hole in oversight. Also, the walls and floors/ceilings are paper thin and I can hear my neighbors snore, cough, and play the guitar. I've been here for months and my unit still smells like paint. Don't do it. Live anywhere else.
The leasing office is full of inept people, who never answer the phone. The hot tub has been broken for OVER A YEAR, despite the office telling everyone that it will be fixed "soon". Don't move into a first floor apartment in buildings 6 or 7, you will flood-- and they won't fix it. Our place was flooded for so long, we were able to break our lease, but we tried to work with the leasing office to stay at the complex (we just didn't want to move) but no one gave us all the information, or gave away the apartments we thought we secured. The price may be right for the size apartment, and the fact that you are not too far from both the Southmoor and Belleview Light Rail stations, but there are nicer places that have a staff that is better equipped. The one star is to the maintenance staff, who tries to keep up with the falling apart buildings. They were always courteous and responded fast to emergencies, they were just trying to keep it all together as best they could. They were the only people in the complex that won't lie to you about the state of the buildings.
I have lived here for about a year and have had nothing but great experiences. It's a very nice community with great amenities and friendly, helpful staff. The grounds are kept beautiful and maintenance requests are completed promptly. I've just renewed my lease for another year. It's a great place for pets, too. Parking is slightly problematic, but I've never had major issues with it as I rent a covered reserved spot (which I recommend). It's a great location right in DTC within minutes of shopping and restaurants. It's also great as it's right where I-25 and I-225 connect, so it's super convenient to get around Denver.
I've lived in the Parliament Apartments in Denver for a month now. So far I like it. It's pretty quiet, hardly ever hear anyone. My particular building has an underground parking which will be nice when it snows. It's pricey, but everything is pricey in Denver now so at least you get a lot of ammenities for what you pay.
We recently moved to Denver and blindly went into our apartment hunt from a different state. After frustration at the amount of apartments in Denver, we decided to just take the plunge and commit to a lease at Parliament. Upon moving in we had some issues with construction after renovations, but since then we've had no issues and feel safe in our home. Rent is reasonable and the apartment staff and maintenance is helpful and friendly. We once had a maintenance member help us get a wallet out of our car and put it in safe keeping when we were in another state as we were in fear someone would try to break in to the car if the wallet was in plain sight. The only complaint I have is that one of our cars did get broken into once through an unlocked trunk, nothing was stolen but some change but still made us more cautious. Overall, the pool is nice, the fitness center is ok (there's no tv's which is kind of a bummer), but all the amenities are more than adequate. We're about 1 mile north of the tech center and a mile and a half away from the Highline Canal trail. We are happy with choosing Parliament as our first apartment home in Denver.
Complex has very nice outdoor space. Nice location in nice area. Apartments are well maintained.
I have not been happy with the management team at this complex. They lost my original lease and my notice to vacate. I was told by other tenants that they do this on purpose so they can charge you an additional fee for not giving 60 day notice. I have also had problems with maintenance. My apartment flooded and when I called the emergency number they told me they could be out in the morning. I have requested they fix my dishwasher 5 times and it still does not work. They also changed my filter in my heating unit and let the heat run at 100 degrees until I returned home at 8pm to find everything in my apartment was melted or spoiled and my plants were dead. I was not able to stay at my apartment that night because I could not get it cooled down and the management team did not even apologize. I am excited to be moving out.
