Property Ratings at Peake Apartments
To be fair, I loved living here the first 6 months I lived here, but what I have experienced in the past 2 weeks has been bad enough that I want to warn people not to live here. Due to the cold weather and poorly insulated pipes, I came home to my apartment flooded with dirty water. Half my living room was covered in gray water from the laundry room pipes, and literal sewage had backed up into my shower. The Peake's maintenance response was to leave a shop vac at my apartment and expect me to vacuum it up myself, which is completely inappropriate and unprofessional considering it was a biohazard. The next few days I dealt with incredibly slow responses from both maintenance and managerial staff. I was not given any alternate accommodations for the 4 nights that my apartment was inhabitable and they did not offer to reimburse me for a hotel. When I asked about replacing the property that was ruined, I did not get a response for multiple business days. I had to throw away hundreds of dollars of property. While it was inhabitable I had to call many times a day just to get an update. I understand that issues happen, but it is my understanding that this would have been prevented if the exposed pipes in the garage were properly insulated. There is nothing to prevent this from happening to future residents. Most importantly, the response from management was incredibly subpar.
I’ve lived in Peake since August 2020 and can say this place is fantastic. It has really nice appliances, balcony, and it’s quiet outside. Maintenance usually fixes whatever problem might come up within a day or two. A big plus is that it’s right next door to Kroger. The one bad thing about this apartment is that if you live with a roommate, one of you will always be parked in. So get a valet key for your roommate.
