Nestled in North Colorado Springs near the U.S. Air Force Academy, Falcon Estates sits in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. The neighborhood sits approximately eight miles from Downtown Colorado Springs, so residents can easily travel back and forth to the city for work or leisure. Charming single-family homes on large lots and upscale apartment communities define the rental market in Falcon Estates. Although locals enjoy living so close to the heart of the city, there are plenty of restaurants and retailers in the neighborhood, especially near Chapel Hills Mall and the nearby Promenade Shops at Briargate.

Property Ratings at Peaks at Woodmen
We have been here about a month and it is pretty good so far. They were actually very reasonable considering our short term lease (6 months) requirement. We are renting here while our house is being built and their short term fee is $300/month extra - which is still cheaper than a lot of other options we were considering. We also have a requirement to be in D20, which is the same for the new house to make student transition easier. Fitness center is moderately small but functional with plenty of equipment given the space. I haven't tried the pool yet but it looks nice. The area is convenient enough - about halfway between Powers and I-25, with nearly everything within a 5-10 minute drive. It is located nearly on the Cottonwood Creek Trail and not far from several parks. Great for being more active. Staff has been great so far. My main concern is the pet fees are a bit high (but that's true for most apartments) since they require a deposit, a non-refundable pet fee and a monthly pet rent - per pet with a max of 2. So, you must _really_ love your furry friend. Rents seem to be about average for the area (which is high), especially considering the desirable D20 school district. Some of the units have absolutely amazing views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range. They are moving container friendly. Parking is first-come basis, unless you rent a garage.

I applied to Peaks of Woodmen in CO Springs in August. I then canceled my application and forfeited my application fee. That's fine as I accepted those terms. However, PAW had claimed they charged me $5 more than they were supposed to and said they would credit it towards my rent. Since I did not rent, they said they would give me a refund check. It's been two months and I have not received any refund check.
1. Nice Place 2. Great Staff 3. Parking can be frustrating later in the evening 4. Pool is way too cold though suppose to be heated! 5. Apartment is overpriced!
Looking for an apartment, like what we saw at the Peaks. Put money down to hold the apartment , before we were completly approved , we found a better deal in Denver. Have to fight for them to tell us they were going to return our money. The lady we spoke to, somehow was transfer to another property (this all happened in a week) Now here we sit waiting for our money from *corporate*. Blame my husband for giving them a money order instead of certified check (could have put a stop payment at the bank) The whole thing left a bad taste in our mouth. Was planning to rent there next year..Not
I doubt the other person who reviewed my apartment complex is typical. Sounds like Murphy's Law kicking in. Is any apartment complex perfect? Of course not. But we were among the first to move in here three years ago, and have no complaints. Lenka, the current manager, has been here for two years, and she and her staff have been very responsive. Things go wrong even in a fairly new facility (news flash: fallen world = entropy) but every time they do, someone is there to fix it the same day or the next. The gates have been working 99% of the time, and were only down because parts were slow in arriving. And sorry to correct previous reviewer: you can always drop your rent payment off at the office - online is not the only option. As for the treadmills, they have been back up and running for some time now: the pool IS heated most of the year, but being an outdoor pool, who wants to swim when the wind chill is 20 below? The Peaks at Woodmen has been taken over by a new company, and so far, all the glitches from the old owners have not resurfaced. Come on over, the living is fine!
It's a very clean appartment complex staff is very friendly but it's a little bit over priced for the area
The apartments are beautiful and spacious, but the amenities and management leave much to be desired. My roommate and I went 2 weeks without heat in our apartment in the middle of November because the property "forgot" to fix our water heater. They also stopped allowing us to pay rent online and instead now charge you to pay rent online (paying online is the only option). The gym treadmills have been broken for over a year now. The pool was promised to be heated year round, but this was not true. The property is also said to be a gated community, but the gates are broken most of the time. Also, I was unaware of a package that had been mailed to me and the office failed to communicate that the package was waiting for me in their office for two months. Overall, nice location and great views but once my lease is up, I'm moving out.
