Known as the City of Destiny, Tacoma sits on Commencement Bay in the southern portion of Puget Sound. Just minutes from Seattle, Tacoma is the birthplace of internationally-acclaimed glass artist Dale Chihuly. His work is spotted throughout the city, especially the Chihuly Bridge of Glass at the Museum of Glass, a 500-foot-long pedestrian overpass linking the Museum of Glass to Downtown Tacoma. You can create your own work of blown glass at the Tacoma Glassblowing Studio.
In addition to its creative culture, Tacoma offers residents and visitors access to world-renowned museums, unique venues, and outdoor recreation. Explore the rotating exhibits at LeMay-America’s Car Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, and Washington State History Museum. Grab a drink at Bob’s Java Jive or Dorky’s Bar Arcade before you head to a performance at Rialto Theater or the Tacoma Dome. Peruse the shops at Tacoma Mall and B & I Shopping Center. Take a hike, visit the zoo, and rent kayaks in Point Defiance Park.

Property Ratings at Pearl Vista Apartments
This will be our second year living here, and we love it! The apartment is quiet, safe, and the neighbors are friendly. The location is absolutely the best! I thoroughly enjoy my walks to point defiance and the waterfront in the evenings. I also can’t say enough good things about the owners. They are a wonderful couple who are always kind and responsive. I highly recommend this place to call home!
This apartment is hands down the best apartment I’ve lived in, in all of my 33 years of living in WA. It’s super quiet, the neighbors are friendly, and the apartment owner is a very kind and understanding couple. They gave me a chance and didn’t have to. If I didn’t have to move across the country I’d still be living there; without a doubt in my mind! They are very quick on response as well, we had our stove go out and it was replaced the next day. I can’t express how awesome it was to live close to 5 mile/owens beach and being able to drive down Ruston every day to work made living there so much better! If you’re considering this place, DO IT!!!!
I am a single woman in her 50’s and I find this place to be quiet and safe!! Deliveries on my front porch are safe even left out for days! The apartment is well appointed with a nicely sized master bedroom with huge walk in closet. The landlords are very nice with great communication. My favorite? It’s easy walking distance to everything in Point Ruston, Point Defiance and Ruston Way. I love living here!
I've been living here since June 2022 and its been great. Awesome location within walking distance to Point Defiance Park and Point Ruston. Close to shopping center just a couple miles away. Just two blocks from several restaurants. Clean units - never had any problem with bugs or rodents. Its an older building but well maintained. Has a washer and dryer in unit, which is a plus. Only reason I don't give it a 5 is no dishwasher or garbage disposal but the location easily outweighs that inconvenience, IMO. Kitchen counter space is small, but I bout a couple of reasonably priced kitchen counter/islands/shelves that fit right in and took care of that. The natural light in the kitchen and living room is fantastic from sunrise to sunset and if you're on the second floor you get some views of Puget sound.
