Property Ratings at Pembroke Crossing Apartments
Absolutely the worst customer service. Rude is an understatement. They lie and deceive. Terrible communication and the rent is outrageous for the “amenities” they provide.
Stay away from this property. They were built in 1985 and everything on the interior reflects it. Many of the buildings have been dealing with a pest infestation recently, crawling across beds, floors, walls, bathrooms, etc. That's on top of the already unreal pest problem this complex has. Completely clueless management. The place is an absolute dump. It looks great on the outside, kudos to the for keeping it up, but that's just so they can attract people to fill the empty apartments they constantly have. Ever wonder why they always have something available? The quality of people the complex is attracting lately is questionable. I've lived her for four years and am counting the days until I leave. It's been unbelievably stressful living here. I do not recommend this to anyone unless it's temporary or you are looking for a place to lay your head and nothing else.
Bugs are a problem, and much better property in the area. Management company has much room for improvement
I lived out here about 6 yrs ago..I moved to another property just to try it out. Whelp..lol..didnt cut it. So we came back to Pembroke Crossing. We love it out here. Never had any complaints to report at all. When I need work done in my apartment IT GETS DONE as soon as possible. Even though I know they have a long list of work to do they seem to move fairly quickly. So if you are looking for tge perfect apartment that nothing ever breaks down keep looking. Such as life..nothing stays immaculate forever. But if you are looking for the perfect place to dwell..close to everything..a place where the staff genuinely truly cares about thier residents..then PEMBROKE CROSSING is your place to be. Looking forward to more years of living here. ?
It always concerns prospective residents when they see poor reviews. I think we have to give management the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Yes, there's often significant dilemmas in how properties can be managed both from a standpoint a safety and maintenance. The Virginia Tenant Landlord Act and the Fair Housing Law are significant laws that apply to tenants but especially to landlords. It even allows residents to file tenant assertions during their tenancy and also small claims actions after tenancy depending on which approach is more effective in a given set of circumstances.
Management is childish and immature Roaches are out of control Homeless people hangout and use herion Crime is extreme Maintenance is lazy and seems to never be doing anything but smoke MOLD MOLD MOLD MOLD MOLD
Do not move her your property is not safe my car has been broken into five times all of my neighbors cars have been broken into as well the police Are here on a weekly basis and the drug deals that go on here is insane , they do not care about there residents they only want their rent money and maintenance is the worst takes them forever to fix anything around here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I REPEAT BEWARE DO NOT MOVE HERE
Moved here a few months ago. I must say that by far this is the most horrible experience living in an apartment complex for me. The rent price seems attractive, but be warned that is all that is. Were promised a new carpet, but found only a cleaned one which had a couple of very suspicious yellow stains. Once complained, the carpet was changed. Thank you for keeping your promise which you should have kept in the first place. The next day I started moving in, roaches made their appearance and haven't left since. I was told by the manager that "water bugs" are normal this time of year, and I may see one or two in a year time. Well guess what, you better get used to, you'll find those gross things everywhere... living room, dining room, closets, bedrooms, hallway, bathrooms, even inside your pantry (and also food)!!! It's an infestation!!! I was told that management can bring in the pest control, I wonder why they don't do it before someone gets inside the apartment???! The management is well aware of this fact - infinitive roaches & bugs, which if you happen to come at night, it'll seem as a swarm - but they will always say "oh, nobody has complained before"... yeah, right!!! If you have a problem, the first thing they will do is push back (hoping the problem will solve itself, or maybe you will forget about it). They will never say thank you for escalating an issue (whatever that may be) and be working to improve the situation, because at the end of the day they are maintaining their own property, instead they will say why do you raise your voice... well I don't raise my voice, and even if I do it's because I'm frustrated with the situation of finding every day (not once or twice, but every day) roaches and bugs even where I keep my children's clean clothes. It's irritating to say the least! I have started taking pictures and filming whenever I see them. I will make a movie and at the end of my lease I will give it to them as my present for the treatment I am being given. Community living here are ok, and maintenance staff do their best (of what they can of course). If you don't mind living among roaches and bugs, be my guest!

Moved in here almost a year ago and have regretted it the whole time. The bugs in this complex is out of control so many roaches all the time. Gnats during the summer that refuse to leave no matter what. Spiders all in the corners of the walls. The complex is cheap and you get what you pay for, but the roaches is just like horrible feeling dirty in your own home and being afraid of what bugs you might find that day is horrible. Will not be renewing my lease at all. Do not come here stay far away

I am current resident and have had a decent experience. The apartments are reasonably priced for the region. The grounds are well maintained and management does a good job keeping up the appearance of the community. Management has always done their best to go above and beyond to help out any way possible. Maintenance guys are timely and do a good job. Very polite and professional. All in all, it has been a good apartment complex to live in and would recommend to those looking.
I really enjoyed staying here, great neighbors, great staff, excellent internet and cable options. The apartments are in the process of being slowly renovated since they are 26 years old, we got new windows and patio railings which was nice. The maintenance crew was awesome and always fixed any problems I had, which were minimal, in a reasonable time and with a smile. I am in the military and had no problems even when communication was limited. Trustworthy people, nice floor plans, and great service. I would recommend this apartment to anyone.
It's aggravating. We're paying $1300 a month for an apartment that continuously has stuff breaking (i.e. the air conditioning [has broken 3 or 4 times in the 5 months we've lived here], the wash AND dryer both have broken multiple times and we're paying more for this apartment because it has the washer and dryer, yet half the time we can't even use them, etc), maintaince will say they do something the next day and never come back to do it. On the upside, everything is near us: food, shopping centers, entertainment, costume stores, etc. To say the least we are looking forward to when our lease is up so we can go elsewhere.
