Drive six miles north up US-3 — also known as North State Street — and you’ll find yourself in the village of Penacook. Originally known as “Fisherville,” Penacook is a quiet, serene village with a population of less than 4,000. Situated along the banks of the Contoocook and Merrimack River, Penacook’s overall atmosphere and landscape are one of a secluded small town, with beautiful forests and parks to explore.
Charming homes and low-lying apartments give way to an endearing town square and locally owned businesses. There’s a grocery store, hardware store, and a collection of restaurants in the village’s immediate boundaries, but most residents head into Concord for more specific needs or a night on the town. Downtown Concord is only a 15-minute drive, and I-93 will carry you anywhere else.

Property Ratings at Penacook Place Apartments
The company that runs the place isn't that great, they send out a ton of notices about stuff that they don't follow up on and then are inconsistent about what they're even going to do. People in the apartments are 50/50 some are nice while others leave their dog poop and cigarette butts and trash everywhere. Apartments are small for the cost and you can hear everything happening in the hallway in the common area of the apartment.
I love this place. It's close to the city, but far enough away to be quiet. Easy access to the bus line, and it has a pool, playground, and is pet friendly.
