Property Ratings at Penn Crest Apartments
We enjoyed living here for the past year, but had to move due to our first baby being born and needing a larger place to live. Throughout our time here we didn't have any issues and the leasing agent Ellen & the Penn Crest team were very professional and responsive in making it the most comfortable stay. We thank everyone at Penn Crest and would recommend it to any individuals or families searching for a new place to reside.
Property Manager at Penn Crest Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled you enjoyed your time at Penn Crest. Congratulations on your new addition, and best wishes in your new home!
This is a nice apartment complex to live in. It is very quiet and very close to the elementary school and high school that my kids go to. There is a very nice swimming pool and large lawn area if you wanted to have a get together. There is also a nice fenced in dog area for your dog to run around in. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the pricing is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend living here, my family and I lived there for 3 years.
Did not feel safe living here. Street fights. Someone was stabbed here at the complex. Maintenance was unresponsive. Apartment was falling apart. Cracks in the patio deck and walls. Very poor insulation with leaky windows. Common area smells and looks like it has not been changed since the 1960s. Common area is not secured despite laundry area. Very loud between thin walls and neighbors and multiple visits from landscaping. Old plumbing pipes that caused multiple sewage and sink clogging issues
Unfortunately we moved in a few months before the pandemic. We picked this complex over others because of the pool and didn’t get the opportunity to use it. While I love the apartment set up it’s hard to enjoy it when it sounds as if a literal circus is operating above you daily. Since moving in there hasn’t been a single day of any quiet time. It’s extremely frustrating and makes living here hard to enjoy.
The apartments are spacious, tons of storage and closet space. The grounds are kept cleaned and nicely landscaped. The staff is attentive and always willing to help. Plenty of space for kids to run around, quiet and safe neighborhood. Penn Crest will always be home, I love it here!
Apartment appliances and carpet are old and out of date. Common areas are also outdated and old, and walls are so thin that you can hear the washer and dryer running and neighbors talking. Neighbors refuse to wear masks in common areas during COVID. People not from the complex blasting loud music in the parking lot at night.
Very nice looking apartments, spacious, updated appliances, access to washer and drier, and a quiet area. Staff are great too. Ellen is incredibly nice and easy to work with.
These apartments are exactly what the pictures and descriptions say. My family lived here for some time and had a great experience. The area, neighbors and staff are wonderful. Truly had a positive experience with this company. Anytime I had a concern the staff was readily available and willing to fix any issue. Definitely recommend for single person or family.
My apartment has been a wonderful experience. The apartment are very large with lots of closet space and storage areas. They maintain the landscaping exceptionally. It is a very safe and it's close to everything. Also the pool was great! I definitely recommend Penn Crest Apartments as a great place to live.
Our Penn Crest apartment home has been wonderful-so wonderful that we stayed for almost 10 years! The staff is very friendly and responds to any issues or problems quickly and efficiently. The maintenance staff is also incredible-they always answer a call and take care of whatever needs to be done with a smile. The apartment was beautiful, spacious and the grounds were always very well maintained. And the pool in the summer was just perfect! While we having decided to purchase a home, we will definitely miss Penn Crest.
My mother and sister lived here for 13 years. The apartment is very large with so much closet space. It is located in nice neighborhood and they never had any problems. It is quiet and conveniently located. Plenty of grassy areas for kids to play. Maintenance was always very helpful. Sad to have had to move my family. Thanks for the great years
I recently moved out due to job relocation and I’m definitely going to miss living here. The location is great, the size and quality of the apartments are awesome for the price, and the staff is phenomenal! Ellen always made sure we were taken care of and Luis went the extra mile to make sure any issues were fixed at our convenience. Highly recommend!
Hi All, I am a current resident of this apartment. The apartments are "OK". We see a lot of bugs in the house. Maintenance: They are on time but initially we used to get a lot of noise in the bedroom due to the heater and we complained but of no use. The maintenance people came and told that is the normal noise that comes since the heater is placed in that bedroom. But the noise is really loud where we cannot sleep. We used to shut down the heater and sleep. Security: ABSOLUTELY NO SECURITY. I had my brand new car tires stolen when parked in the apartment. Complained this to the management but they haven't taken any security measures regarding this. This is the second time in a month that happened. We see some suspicious people wandering around the apartment during the night but the management is least bothered about that. We are now scared to go out during the night. Environment: It is a calm and pleasant apartment. The grass cutters and cleaning staff will do their job on regular basis and no issues on that. Advice to the management: Make sure to take some security measures to safeguard the apartment. We need to have some lights in the parking lots and need some security cameras around the apartment.
I just moved out after 7 years at Penn Crest to purchase my first home, and I couldn't be happier with their service. The prices were competitive, the staff was excellent, and the location is ideal and centrally located for quick access to just about everything you'd want. Definitely would recommend Penn Crest to anyone looking to move into Allentown or the greater Lehigh Valley area.
My family have been living here from summer 2010 to June 2018. For multiple reasons, whenever possible, I will highly recommend the Penn Crest apartments to my friends. First, it has been a huge blessing for us that my neighbors have been respectful and caring for each other. Some of them have been living here for tens of years. In the first apt we lived in (for 6 years), the gracious lady upstairs mostly sounded like she was tiptoeing :) Three other neighbors helped my kids anonymously with small nice gifts, or by paying my kids generously in return for walking his dog. We helped each other (e.g., by reminding about a car light that was still on). Next, it is obvious that the apts have a great location for good schools, Route 22, shopping, the airport, etc. The benefits of living in an apt are fully experienced here: carefree through winter, timely repair and maintenance for indoors issues, and the available open space for kids. When I am already frowning at the hassles from my new home (a single house), I am planning to move back in 5 years to the apt. Hope that my neighbors and the friendly staff (e.g., Louis and his family and Ellen) will be still around when I move back.
We just moved in the first of April and I want to say I just love it, Ellen and all of the staff have been extremely pleasant and helpful, they have made it so enjoyable, it's so quiet and peaceful I know we will just love living here.
We have lived here for a few years....the property has remained just as peaceful and quiet today, as it did when we moved in.
My fiancee and I are very pleased with how well moving and living here has gone. We were worried about the transition, but so far everything has been amazing. We have 2 dogs and the whole complex is very dog-friendly! A huge plus for us! They provide doggy bags at the back of the complex to clean up after your pet. Don't miss out on this gem!
We have been living here just shy of a month, and we LOVE it! The community is full of such lovely, nice people. The landscaping is AMAZING and everyone who comes over always comments on it. The staff is friendly and quick with their help. We would recommend this place to anyone!
