Property Ratings at Perry Point
I am absolutely happy with my new home. Mrs. Brenda, Mrs. Lee, & Ms. Ava were all wonderful. They were very assertive to my needs and what I wanted in my home. They are so nice! I must say the apartments look like in person what they look like online. They are very spacious and nice. The neighborhood is really nice. I have not had any issues with anything. I’m so glad that I came across this place. I love it so much. It’s a very calm and welcoming environment. I highly recommend!

We're happy to hear you're having a great experience! Thank you for your feedback.
I really enjoyed my one bedroom apartments it overlooked the pool and was very spacious with in unit laundry. I also love the private patio.
Lived at Perry Point for 3 years and these apartments have really went downhill. As mentioned in another post, there were 2 shootings where someone was murdered and the other one where someone literally shot up a apartment ON THE SECOND FLOOR!! I heard both incidents and it has really caused me so much anxiety and emotional stress. You don’t even feel safe to walk at your door, especially at night! Plus they leave the door with the bullet holes still up. What resident wants to look at that everyday?! Please run away fast and find somewhere else to spend your money. Leasing office is rude but only wants to smile and be concerned when potential residents are around.
Property Manager at Perry Point, Responded To This Review
Here at Perry Point, our leasing staff always aims to be approachable, professional, and kind, I'm very sorry if that didn't reflect in your experience. I urge you to please call the office as soon as possible to schedule a meeting to discuss your concerns further. In the meantime, I’d like to clarify, the replacement door had to be specially ordered from a 3rd party vendor which took up to two weeks to get here. Just yesterday, the door was delivered, hung, and painted! I look forward to hearing from you. Mark, Community Manager
Look somewhere else for a safe place to live. We have lived at Perry Point for almost 4 years now. During that time we've had a decent experience. However, I know there have been lots of drug dealings throughout that time and various incidents involving the police. In the last month there have been 2 shootings IN OUR BUILDING. One ended in a murder that is still under investigation - meaning that haven't caught the guy who did it. After this last shooting, we want out. We have two small children and we no longer feel safe here. I am hoping they will allow us to break our lease to find somewhere safer to live. Hearing gunshots at night and waking up to police cars filling the parking lot is not something I want myself or my children to experience.

I can certainly understand your concerns, Amanda. We are all alarmed by recent events and want to express that we feel similar emotions. We want nothing more than for everyone to feel secure, at home. And so, we are proactive. Some assurance we can provide if helpful is; these were not simply random events and they were specifically directed. Management was immediate in its response to include fast and permanent resolution, active involvement with Raleigh Police Department, and swift response to the directly impacted. Finally, our screening process has not changed and remains the same for every person, equally. We hope this gives you an assurance that Perry Point has not ‘relaxed’ by any means. This includes all lease guidelines or community policies, move-in requirements, or overall practices. Crime, unfortunately, is terribly unpredictable and often unforeseen. Regardless, and understandably, this has caused many to feel unsafe. Again, we genuinely understand. While we feel this matter is now resolved, we know we cannot claim to be safe from random acts of crime. That said, we do have routine direct communication with our after-hours patrol company (Signal 88) that patrols the community randomly, between 7:00 pm and 4:00 am. If you ever have concerns of any suspicious activity after hours you can always call them as well; Signal 88 dispatch can be reached by calling 984-960-9981. Of course, if you are witnessing illegal or suspicious activity, you should also call 9-1-1. Please let us know directly as well, should these calls occur so we can assist you if possible. Thank you again for bringing your concerns to me. We want to be an ear for our residents and offer assurance where possible and express our sincerest understanding. If you would like to discuss any of your concerns further, please don't hesitate to reach out. Mark, Community Manager
Love the apartment layout. Enjoy the balcony - Except for the very dirty balcony floor. That should have been cleaned before I move in. It looks like the floor of a mechanics lot. Black with grease. I've requested it to be cleaned 5 times. My first 3 request were ignored. I escalated the issue to management. His reassurance proved disappointing as well. Still not cleaned. I have been disappointed with staff /management on more 5 occasions. Too many for comfort. I do not get many notices that are sent to residents. I find out of them after the fact. The walls are thin and I can easily hear my neighbor. Loud neighbor often playing loud music past 4am. Lots of pet owners do not leach their dog or clean up after them. I have seen management see this happening but do not say anything. I love the neighborhood and my apartment. Unfortunately there are too many other sucky things happening.

When I was moving to Raleigh I had about 3 weeks to find an apartment and thought I hit the jack box when I found Perry Point. They put on a good show and the tour units were fairly nice. However, after living here for 7 months now my experience is a bit mixed. The complex grounds are somewhat well maintained but you can often find trash and food littering some of the areas, pet droppings left by the owners and worst of all drainage issues. Whenever it rains, parts of the complex turn into marshes and large puddles ankle deep take over areas of the sidewalk. I’ve found the community office helpful if I go in person but phone messages rarely get returned. For example, another residents dog that was against breed restrictions and over the weight limit got loose and attacked my dog. There were no injuries but I thought that I would call the office to report the incident in case it was a repeated occurrence. I never heard back. The maintenance staff are very friendly and responsive and sometimes go out of their way to help residents if asked. One helped me drill holes in my car for my NC license plate. The community is pet friendly but to a certain extent. The pet fee was very reasonable compared to others and there are waste baskets and an okay dog park as well. As I stated before, whether they are unaware or not enforcing there are multiple dogs that are against breed restrictions and weight restrictions. Also, while the complex itself is walkable the surrounding areas are a bit less so. On one side you have a mall and on the other you have a warehouse district. You can get a good 2mi walk in with the warehouse area but be warned, it can be busy with fast moving traffic. In conclusion, while my experience with Perry Point has been mixed, I think it is a good starter apartment complex. While it has some issues, it is far better than other complex’s in the area

Unfortunately, we were unable to determine your identity and we would love to be able to speak with you. If you would like, please feel free to contact me directly at MMassi@Morguard.com. In the meantime, we can assure you that we are doing our very best to keep the grounds as clean as possible, though it is an ongoing effort we continuously strive to be better. We certainly want the place that you call home to look beautiful and feel welcoming, but do apologize that this has not been reflected in your experience. At the moment our response time is a little delayed as we are currently seeking leasing and administrative professionals to round out our team. We are working hard to make sure we reply to everyone in a timely manner and we know that everyone's call is equally important. We appreciate the honest review of our community and would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to discuss your review in more detail and answer any questions you may have. We look forward to your call. Mark, Community Manager
Very spacious unit and great quality for the price. Well-manicured and away from busy roads. The maintenance staff is very responsive.

This place is not a bad place to live. Nice apartments and the staff is good
I have enjoyed living at Perry Point the last 3 years. The staff is friendly and courteous. All of my maintenance requests are performed immediately and the complex is nice and safe.
My husband and I have lived here for 4 years and we really do love it. The staff is very friendly and so is the maintenance crew. The apartments are beautiful and have character with crown molding and base boards and the living area is open to the kitchen. The community is great and we love that they have monthly community activities. The complex is clean and very well maintained. There is even a small dog park! They are very pet friendly and overall, we really enjoy living here!

Thank you for sharing your experience as a long-time resident! It's wonderful to hear you're enjoying our community's amenities and features. Thanks again!
Have been here for almost 4 years and never faced any bitter experience so far from the neighbors or the people working at the Leasing office. The management is friendly and maintenance requests were always addressed on time for us. We do hear the loud slamming of door noice from the neighbors but apart from that it’s a good peaceful community to live in and has easy access for 540 and other main shopping areas. Would definitely recommend/recommended to may of our friends.

Thank you for the recommendation! It's so great to hear that you're still enjoying your home at Perry Point.
Brittney was BEYOND helpful when we decided to take a look at this apartment complex! She answered thousands of questions and always was so friendly and patient with me! She was super quick to reply to my emails when we were applying as well. Definitely one of the reasons we love this place and can’t wait to move in! We also loved the layout for the cypress home. There are just so many bonuses for this complex that so many others charge for- like, no washer/dryer fee, no monthly pet fees, the admin fee isn’t outrageous. Will update when we have been here for a bit!
My fiance and I moved here last August, and have yet to have a good experience with this apartment complex. Our second night here we found two large beetles, when I mentioned it to the staff they replied, "it's just something that happens when living on the first floor, and suggested we pay for pest control." There is a $30 trash fee you cannot opt out of, and there are stipulations to have your trashed picked up. We once received a letter telling us we could not leave a broken down cardboard box outside our door with the trash, and they left our trash outside all night (walked right by it to post a letter on our door). Our apartment was flooded July 3, the water was not extracted until two days later, our floors, baseboards, and kitchen island were damaged (not to mention all of our items that were on the floor) but we were told they didn't know when this would be fixed or how long it would take -no urgency. Our carpet is soggy, and no one knows when that will be replaced -again, no urgency. During this time we were on vacation and had to call Perry Point to get an update on the status of our apartment. When we returned home, the floors had not been cleaned, fans were left, and the apartment smells dingy and musty. When we called to request we stay in the model room there was no answer (surprise). No one can tell us how our apartment was flooded or when it will be repaired. In addition to this major issue, we have had a continuous problem with large beetles, and when we first moved our leasing agent gave us the wrong unit number of which I had set up our electricity under, so I was paying for electricity use in a vacant apartment and then billed months later for our actual electricity use. If you want to live in a place with poor customer service, a lack of urgency during an emergent situation, erroneous fees, and cheap housing, then Perry Point is for you.
Right now I am listening to neighbors stomping. This problem has been reported numerous times already. I was told by the leasing office that the stompers said that they walk normally. Seriously? So, I have to play investigator and call the office when the stomping is going on, which seems to be when the office is closed. Let's talk about slamming both doors nonstop. I know that the thin walls and lack of insulation doesn't help. I have had neighbors before that did not stomp around like this. My lease won't expire until 6 months from now. I'm sure that farm animals live above me with no class or consideration. You are lucky if you get considerate neighbors, if not I pray you are able to live through the nightmare that I have been living through. Truly wish I could leave earlier due to my not being able to live a peaceful life at PerryPoint.
Great location, great prices, and great amenities! I searched for months and finally came across the best value, you will not be disappointed with these. The office staff has always been friendly and helpful and the maintenance has been fast whenever Ive put in a work order. New upgrades, and only a few years old so they haven't had a lot of tenants. A downside is that the walls can be thin, sometimes I can hear noises from other tenants but all in all its not all the time and it isn't bad. Parking can get packed out so you may have to look for a space at another unit building at night but haven't had to park too far when I do. The pool is reay nice, the fitness center is big, and they even have massage people on hand! Very luxury and amazing for the price, I have looked all over the area and this is by far the best value for buck and quality in my opinion. I have lived here 5 months and my experience has been great so far. I highly recommend!!!!!
This apartment is the definition of Convenient Luxury! Everything you may need is in a mile and a half radius. As soon as you come out of the complex; to the left you have a mall and numerous shopping centers. There's the dollar store, BJ's, Marshall's, Big Lots, Walmart, Chipotle, Food Lion, Best Buy, Total Wine, Ruby Tuesdays. You're right off the highway, the community is quiet and friendly.
I moved into this development 3 years ago...very beautiful....you actually feel like your love living in a vacation resort.the ground are beautiful.....management friendly and helpful.....maintenance team repairs within one day...lounge has billiard table,TV, a whole kitchen set-up...coffee,tea ect...computer station...swimming pool..Massage room.gym...all latest equipment.events for all major holidays....fund drives for those less fortunate. And the apartments are beautiful.
I found Perry Point online while living in another city. The first time I actually saw the apartments in person was on my move-in day. They're beautiful, well-built, and affordable for the area. I live in the smallest one bedroom and it feels very spacious. The ceilings are high, wall color is nice, the carpet is plush, cabinets are beautiful, and the layouts just make sense. You enter your home through your patio so you have the option of locking two doors which leaves me feeling secure. I also like the double door feature because people can't knock on my front door if I dont want to allow them to. The amenities are great! The pool is gorgeous and huge, the gym is well equipped, and they have a standing tanning bed which I'll use in the winter to prevent Vit D deficiency. They host community parties and movies by the pool occasionally. Most of the office staff is very friendly but I have had a couple of issues with one lady in particular, she can be a little gruff and very forgetful. The location of the complex is very convenient to shopping with every big box store imaginable within a couple of miles and Troangle Town Shopping Mall. The complex is right off of Capital Blvd but it's situated back off a small road so you can't hear the hustle and bustle. The only issues I've had here are a couple of loud neighbors but I just call the on-site security company and they take care of it pretty quickly. Overall, I enjoy living here and what you get for the price here is incredible compared to the countless other complexes I looked at in the area. P.S. They're very pet friendly which was at the top of my list when apartment shopping! There is even a dog park!
Perry Point has been home for the past 3 years. Overall, the community has great individual apartments (layout/design/flow/materials used), but could use some maintenance and upkeep (specifically with regards to amenities) and a more active (and proactive) management team. The apartments were designed with detail and built with materials that many newer apartments are seriously lacking. The attention to small details and convenience of living will benefit many future tenants here. The floors, walls, fixtures and appliances are on the higher end of what you will find in this area and typically the price matches or is less than you might expect. *Daily pricing currently; meaning the rates are subject to change* The front office staff is responsive and handle things better than expected, but there is always room for improvement. They aren't as proactive as they could be, but have improved hugely since taking over as in-house management. Maintenance is quick and thorough. They do handle over 400 apartments and seem to do so with ease. Now, the apartments are only 5 years old so there's not as many problems here as you might find in older apartment communities, but these guys come and change everything from light bulbs to air filters and every single thing in between, whenever you need them. They have on-call maintenance 24 hours a day and 7 days a week for emergency situations. Overall, a hard working and very respectable maintenance (and groundskeeping) staff here. Amenities are amazing, when they all work and when they're open. Management have made steps to improve the community amenities (pool/fitness center/business center/masseuse/tanning bed) but there are some needed repairs to maintain the value that you are paying for. Living here has been great! The people (though there are constantly move-ins and move-outs) seem to care about the community and generally are good people. However, you can't ever guarantee who your neighbors will be and that is a wild card (*though that is anywhere you go*). I would recommend, and have recommended this community to friends. The location, staff, amenities and people here can really make you feel privelaged to call yourself a resident here. *If you find my review has helped you understand the community a bit better, please mark it as 'helpful'.
