Fenton provides the ideal location near several major cities. It is 38 miles north of Ann Arbor, 65 miles east of Lansing, 14 miles south of Flint, and 46 miles northwest of Detroit. Established in 1834, Fenton was first named Dibbleville -- you'll find a historical marker downtown after moving to your Fenton apartment. Dibbleville (named for early settler Clark Dibble) was purchased by William Fenton in 1837, and the name became Fentonville. The "ville" was dropped around 1863. Property Ratings at Pier 38
Absolutely horrible. Since we moved in there have been nothing but issues, and the staff is rude and nothing gets fixed. You pay more than a mortgage payment for sub-par appliances that fall apart monthly and a staff that just does not care. The maintenance employees have even remarked on having to fix things that keep breaking. Instead of just investing the funds to fix the issues, the owners just decide it’s better for their residents to become frustrated having to deal with issues all the time.
Looks good from marketing, leasing perspective, but many services, options are contingent on various conditions, ie., locality, times, days, and more concerned with the facade, appearance from brochure, or curbside glance than actually fixing the things that would help renters save money.
Beware of signing up for their Waitlist - I was told verbally that as long as I eventually chose to move to these apartments, I wouldn't lose the waitlist down payment of $199. I had explained that we were not sure when we were going to put our house up for sale because we needed to do work to it. Their response … "No problem". Until they turn around and say you can only take 1 year and poof that money is gone but they sure hope I will chose them when the time is right …. come on …. really?
I love living here so much! My son and I love the monthly calendar and the staff interaction! Diana and Taylor are so ready to help and really take pride in their office! The pool is so nice and kept clean. Do yourself a favor and look no further, these are the most updated and perfect homes I've ever lived in!
When I went in I was clear about the timeframe I needed to move in. They were super friendly (that’s why the two stars) and said they would schedule a time Saturday to look at all of the floor plans that I needed, even called to make sure I was going to make the appointment. I moved my appointment with another complex to go here on Saturday. As soon as I walked in thinking I would be getting an apartment, I was told by Taylor I believe after reviewing my information that they have NO availabilities. Then said maybe in the beginning of March then said April?? Extremely disappointing and unprofessional and for that reason alone I would not suggest Pier 38 or ever live there.
Me and my partner have stayed at many apartments over the years. But this is honestly the best thus far with a super friendly staff and very responsive maintenance crew. The apartment itself is beautiful with brand new appliances and a spacious layout. The screened in patio is also a wonderful plus! Everything about our new apartment felt like home instantly as soon as we walked into the door. So glad we decided to come to pier 38.
By far one of the worst apartments I have ever lived in. Painted tile in bathroom shower has peeled. Led to believe that apartment appliances are updated but when I moved in only the microwave was. The dishwasher and refrigerator are a completely different color and the stove is from the 90's and is multiple colors. Everything else in the kitchen has been updated (cabinets, cabinet hardware, and counter tops). When asked about the mismatch of appliances, I was told for an extra $45/month I could get all updated appliances (even though this was never mentioned prior to renting). I would definitely not recommend this place.

Stay away!! Customer service is awful!! Unsafe place for kids!!
Overall, this apartment community is really nice. The play area is kept clean which is great. I love my balcony and the layout of the apartment is perfect for me. I have only had one maintenance issue and it was addressed quickly. The only negative is that I can smell the smoke coming from the apartment below. But that is something you deal with when living in an apartment. I would recommend living here.
It's a really quiet neighbourhood near pretty much everything! The apartments are big and open with lots of natural light! Best of all...pet friendly!! Cheryl and Jessica are absolutely wonderful!!
i really enjoy the fact that the owners are willing to help out when ever is needed with rent or any other nature of importance!! My furnace went out in winter and they had someone here in 7 mins to fix everything!!
moving to the new apartment I was happy to see how clean and how happy everyone looked. moving from flint I didn't see much happiness in people nor the animals for some reason. I moved to this apartment with a roommate I only knew from her dad at work. the beginning was fine but she kept adding new rules each time she didn't want something to happen. she wanted me to sign off the lease but I don't know why all she did was live in her bedroom with Netflix. I just loved how the place looked how friendly everyone was. the pool was very nice my kids loved it the most. we had our designated time to go to the pool they just loved that and counted down every minute. unfortunately I cant afford this place all by myself otherwise I would definitely live there. I would definetlysuggest this apartment to anyone looking to live.
I have been a renter for a long time and this is by far the nicest apartment I have had. I am on the 3rd floor so naturally it's quiet however even the kids in the area are well behaved. It's pet friendly for my fur babies! The staff are just wonderful and so helpful. Anytime I need things fixed...they are there pretty darn quick. And I'm close to everything...shopping and restaurants!
