Property Manager at PIERPOINT, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to review your experience here. Feedback like yours is the reason we do what we do!
Previously to living in pierpoint I had lived in an apartment complex in which I was the apartment manager over. That being said, I know full well how things should run and how issues should be handle. My roommate and I chose pierpoint originally because it looks great and it's walking distance from palmer were I attend school. When I moved in I realized how deceiving this was. Amoung a huge amount if issues, my closet was actually leaking leaving puddles on the ground and ruining things. I reported it immediately and a week and a half went by before anyone even came to look at it. Their "solution" was to tear up the corner of my carpet and put an industrial sized fan in my closet on full blast and leave it there. Two weeks pasted and the fan just sat there running. I came home with the fan gone and my carpet and paneling still complete ripped up, nails and all. The final straw was when I walked in and had a RAT, not a mouse, run across me. I immediately told the office and I was told it would be taken care of. I had class the rest of the day so it was kind of whatever. They had 7 hours to take care of it and I assumed it would be. We came back, and they rat was still there. Originally we were told maintence went in a put a trap (a mouse trap; not for rats) was put down. Then, the supposed "pest control" came and the mans name changed three times each time with something new they did. Nothing was done and animal control told us rats are too dangerous for us to stay there and we needed to relocate. SIX DAYS, pass and nothing was done and we couldn't live in the apartment. The rat chewed through shirts, blankets, food containers, chargers/cords etc. not to mention we had to throw all our food out. We demanded a break of lease which we finally got. We were never prorated for days we couldn't live in it, residents were never informed of the rat even though legally they should have been, never reimbursed for damage. Nothing. The response was "Well, you know we didn't put it there". They also said "unlivable conditions" was subjective" and they didn't believe this counted (although my guess is the CEO and manager of Gold Oller aren't living with a rat and if they've ever had one they probably had a professional remove it). I am appalled with this company's lack of response and common sense. Their "welcome home" motto is a complete joke. This was not the case a Pierpoint. I know it's a great location but in less you like living with rodents, I'd look elsewhere.
If there was a way to put "zero" stars- I would. Pierpoint has many problems I could list, however I will touch on the most important. Inefficiency to comply with standard health codes. Could you imagine living in an unsafe living environment, black mold growing inside your apartment and water literally leaking into buckets for OVER a month and after multiple emails, telephone calls and verbal requests getting nothing done to help your current situation.?. They are below the standard of what apartment living should consist of. Their maintenance program, obviously, is invisible. It saddens me to see companies run this way and for people to have to live way.
Great location in Port Orange, FL. Within walking distance to Palmer School of Chiropractic which makes it great for students! Its also really close to Daytona Beach and all the entertainment/attractions Daytona has to offer. Its also far enough way from Daytona (15-20 mins) that you can avoid the bike week or nascar traffic if you want too. The management is great here! They are very helpful and keep the place running smoothly. The clubhouse has a gym, pool, TV/hang out room, and office area with wifi, printers, and computers. The only bad thing I can say about this apartment complex is the apartments are a little out of date but the management is currently working to renovate and renew the complex! Highly suggest to live here!
