Canton’s recognition as one of the safest cities in Michigan is reason enough to move there. A strong focus on education, Canton is well on its way to becoming one of the fastest growing communities in the state.
The area is ideal for families. It has a well-maintained park system which includes Independence Park and Heritage Park. Here, residents can bask in an afternoon of walking, watching their kids play sports, and bond over a picnic in the grass.
Commuters have a short drive to and from the cities (yes, two cities!). Canton is just a few miles from the city limits of Ann Arbor and Detroit. When you live here, most of your conveniences are located along Ford Road, one of the main thoroughfares.

Property Ratings at Pilgrim Village - Canton, MI
Work orders do not get fixed, and poor management
I love it, it’s really nice and clean area, apts are really clean and the staff were really helpful. Tanya helped us find apartment so quick thanks for her.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment in Canton! It’s close to shopping, the expressway and downtown Plymouth. The pool and clubhouse are beautiful and always clean. Carol and the ladies in the office are always helpful and friendly. Maintenance is great. I’ve had few issues with things and Ron the maintenance supervisor and Jason are ALWAYS professional, friendly and helpful. In the winter they do a great job with snow removal too. Haven’t seen another complex compare. Would definitely recommend!
I’ve lived at Pilgrim Village since October. Unfortunately because of work transfer I will be leaving this community. I’ve had nothing but a great experience living here. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet and as a single woman i always felt safe. Management has always been friendly and helpful answering any questions I had. I only had to call maintenance once to help me change my battery on my thermostat. The man was nice enough to stay around to check out my furnace even though it was working while he was there and said he would recommend to management to replace my furnace in the future because it was getting older. The next morning I had another maintenance man there looking at it and two hours after a company come out and replace it. I was so thankful to have that quick and easy of a response and never experienced that timely at any other apartment! Pilgrim village is a great place to live and my experience was nothing but positive!
Property Manager at Pilgrim Village - Canton, MI, Responded To This Review
Dear Anonymous, As a valued resident, we greatly appreciate your residency with us! It is our priority to make Pilgrim Village a great place to live for all of our residents and feedback like yours is extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Carol Smothers, Community Manager
I wish I could give them zero stars. Management is incredibly rude and unhelpful. Maintenance staff doesn’t know how to do anything correctly and ignore your service requests. I have bugs EVERYWHERE, front door doesn’t close. Snow removal is absolutely awful, the whole place is a nightmare in the winter. Best part: I paid my rent ON TIME and the money was taken from my account and later i get an eviction notice from the state of Michigan. It took them 2 weeks from the time it left my bank account to process my payment. Absolutely unacceptable. Cant wait to move out.
Moved in and had problems day #1 and they have not stopped. We were given the choice to move in a month earlier than discussed or not at all...on Christmas Eve at that. The apartment wasn't even ready when we moved in and we had no heat or hot water the entire first week there, which was VERY annoying in the dead of winter. Lawn service will leave leaves and trimmings right outside of your front door. Had a rent check "misplaced" by the leasing office. Our air condition went out and took 2 maintenance request and 3 days to be fixed in 90 degree weather. Maintenance is friendly. Sarah in the leasing office is great. Manager Ms. Smothers and Melissa in the office are both very rude.
The place is falling apart. They try fixing things the cheapest way they can. The welcome signs & decor are a ploy to get you in. Once your in your rent will increase but they will state it's the water & sewer charge that has gone up. Poor water pressure. Shared vents with my smoker neighbor. NOT acceptable! Crazy neighbor that they allow to disturb the area. Carol in the office is rude & lies thru her teeth & avoids trying to help you if she can. Sewer issues, frozen pipes, broken furnace & air conditioner, and constant insect problem. Run Forrest run!!!!!
I love this apartment complex. I work in a job that I have to move several times and I have never lived in an apartment complex that the maintenance men take such great pride in their job and are so friendly. Whenever I need anything done, all I have to do is ask and they never act like it is a pain. They are very knowledgeable and actually fix the issues that come up, instead of just duct taping them to get by. The office staff is also friendly, but the main reason why I love this is that I know that if I have any problems that need to be taken care of, it will be by a very professional, friendly maintenance team, that seem to actually care about their residents.
BEWARE!! THE MANAGEMENT TEAM IS ABSOLUTELTY ABYSMAL! I wish I could give a zero star rating. The abridged version: Broken washer, broken toilet seat, spent 4 hours cleaning upon move in because they did such a lovely job preparing for our move in. Dogs, cats, or God knows what lived here before and they didn't clean the carpet properly, did I mention I'm allergic to animals? The stench was SO bad and was literally making me sick, so I used a black light animal detector and found the apartment COVERED in animal urine!! Not to mention we had no heat the first 4 of 7 days living there because the furnace was emitting carbon monoxide and DTE shut it down. Needless to say we moved after a mere week. To make matters worse, we were forced to file a LAWSUIT because Carol, the property manager, refused to give us our nearly $700 back after only "living" there one week!! Needless to say, we were victorious. Word of advice, don't let a corporation run all over you, "the little guy" when you know you're right. This place is an utter embarrassment, void of any professional demeanor, and I would strongly suggest living anywhere but here.
I've have lived at Pilgrim Village apartments for nine years and I am quite satisfied. The staff go the extra mile to see that my maintenance requests are met in a timely fashion. Exterior and grounds of the complex are immaculate! Recently, the number signs outside each of our apartments were replaced so people can read them easier while trying to locate a person's residence. Top priority during the Winter is Snow removal (trucks and salting)from the Pilgrim Village staff. I look forward to spending another year living at Pilgrim Village.
My home is located at Pullman Village Apartments. My family and I are very happy with the atmosphere our home and our surroundings. The staff here I told him Village Apartments are amazing. Everybody keepsThe staff up very well and it is nice to even walk around the neighborhood due to all the trees , creeks and the nature surrounding our apartment complex. They recently upgraded the clubhouse and it's always available for rent. Our kids love going to the pool and hanging out at the clubhouse. Once again our neighbors are amazing my family and I very much enjoy living here.
If you want to live in a beautiful community In Canton, MI look No further. I love calling Pilgrim Village my home. These past 3yrs living here has been Awesome. Staff and residents are very kind and helpful in many ways. Community events are always great too :) I will always refer people to this place I love calling home!
