Property Ratings at Pine at 6th
I've had MULTIPLE packages stolen and management won't do anything about it. I've talked to other residents and they are having the same issue with missing packages. There are cameras in the mailroom but apparently they don't work. The only good thing I would say about this place is the maintenance guys are very friendly and helpful, but as I'm writing this I'm realizing I shouldn't have to constantly make maintenance requests.

The management team is very unwilling to help here. The units are overpriced for the area and the quality of the overall amenities and materials in the units. There are much better options in this area with lower prices and more attentive management. The surrounding area is also very dangerous most hours of the day.

Linda, the new property manager, has overseen a sharp and prompt decline in overall building well-being. Parking gates not working and left open for days at a time, cars broken into, and Linda didn't alert residents to crimes for at least a month. Elevators frequently broken, pacakge system broken to the point that delivery has been delayed up to 2 weeks, and roaches throughout the building (even top floor). Most recently, Linda called the police on a resident who alerted neighbors to break-ins in garage. Yes, the property manager called the police on a complex resident. For "loitering" and "harrassment".
Do not rent here. The apartments look nice but everything that glitters is not gold. There is a new community manager and she is terrible at her job. I have rented apartments in several states since 2005 and I have never come across one that had such poor management. The previous Manager Michael was promoted and the place is quickly falling to pieces under the new manger Linda. The apartments are newly renovated yet constantly need on-going repairs. I moved in and my towel and toilet paper holders fell off within the first month. The maintenance man has come to fix it twice and to this day the are still broken. I told him at this point to just leave them be because it became such a hassle. The elevator is constantly broken. More recently I had my cable wires cut twice and the community manger gave authorization both times and blamed others because she failed to ask the right questions or communicate clearly. The doors to the parking garage are constantly left open for homeless people to enter. Residents cars have been broken into...the list goes on and on. They will try to over you free rent as bait...don't take it. Even if they offer you three months free, it is not worth it. I would recommend this place to my enemy. The previous reviews are from two years ago. I am a current resident and I have never left a review good or bad for a property but I feel a duty to warn people what they should expect when they live here. It probably would not be a bad place to leave if they had a competent community manager that could manage the place.
Great location, Good building. Currently under renovation, but some great changes happening. Including new out door area improvements and renovated studios, one, two and loft style apartments. A great value for your money. Underground parking, fitness center and in unit washer/dryer. Walking distance to great night life, banking, gym and shopping. The Aquarium of the Pacific and the redesigned shopping and theater at the Pike are just blocks away. Located in the heart of Long Beach with its blend of unique and innovative urban chic style. It has a place and a feel for everyone. Bike, pedestrian and family friendly. This is the place to be.
We moved to Pine @6th because they sold themselves as a luxury apartment/lofts building. We made the mistake of signing the lease online prior to touring the location due to time constraints. We decided to move in anyway because we needed a place to move to from my in-laws' place. The place is dirty, infested with rats/mice and not luxurious at all. The pics on their website were not that of the actual apartments. Since we moved in, however, they have since been bought by a new company and the new company has been making major improvements to the building and the apartments. If they stick to the plans it could turn out to be a great place to live in. Unfortunately, the previous management company did such a horrible job at up-keeping it that my impression of it has been ruined. If you want to take your chances while they go through the transition, good luck. I would most definitely wait.
Awesome place. And fantastic apartments. Also unbelievable price!!
