Property Ratings at Pines of Ashton
Lacking of Communication, Cleanliness but hungry for fees. Got a 12 month lease and parking badge only lasted 6 months. Towed car without warning. Pay for all these fees just for cheap management.
Originally the staff was great when we were searching for our apartment. However, if you ever have an issue, don’t expect to speak to the on site manager. He avoided our calls and we were told to email him instead. Within the first month of moving in, we were awoken to gunshots on the property. Our unit was near the playground area and we repeatedly had kids banging on our door and running away as well as multiple broken windows by soccer balls and water bottles thrown while kids were playing. While the maintenance staff was great in replacing the windows, they couldn’t always do it promptly since the issues would sometimes happen over the weekend. There were also many fights that broke out on the property. The walls are thin. We heard our neighbors conversations, TV shows, disagreements through the walls, ceilings, and closed doors in the entryway. Our car was towed even with an up to date decal and placement (that’s more on the towing company, but it’s who this complex chose). The only positive things I can really say is that the maintenance and security staff were polite and responsive but we shouldn’t have needed to contact them so often.

I lived here for a year. This community is incredibly noisy, gross, and unsafe. I signed a lease here because I needed to find a place to live quickly as I had to relocate to the area. The apartment I was set to move into was in such bad shape that they had to move me into a brand new building. What they didn’t tell me was that this “new” building was just rebuilt because it was burnt down in an arson a few years prior. The entire neighborhood smells like urine and weed. It's very trashy. There was a drive-by shooting within the first month of my year-long lease right outside of my building. I felt unsafe every time I left my apartment. You constantly hear people fighting, screaming, and blasting loud music. It’s located right beside a drug-den motel and you will be constantly harassed by the people who frequent it. It’s located right beside the hospital though, which is a good thing because if you live here you will probably need it. Living here was beyond miserable and I truly would not recommend Pines of Ashton to my worst enemy. My recommendation to anyone looking to move to this area is to just pay the extra 100-200 a month to live in a place that will actually feel like a home, and not a warzone.

I have been a tenant here for almost 13 months and I have been living in complete hell. I honestly do not know where to begin. Please if you decide to move here to tour the property and do your research!! You truly get what you pay for. There is trash EVERYWHERE. Loud music plays from neighbors all throughout the day and night. There has been several instances of gun violence and crimes. The lack of urgen6 and professionalism from management is quiet upsetting. I have paid my rent on time for 13 months and simple issues are not resolved. I’ve had packages stolen, unsolicited people knocking at my door at random times and also pest concerns. I moved in to this apartment and there was already roaches accompanying my space! Which took maintenance 3 months to remedy! Also PLEASE pay attention to the towing policy they tow cars without rhyme or reason. This place would get 0 stars if the review would allow for it. I am thanking the heavens above that I am able to leave here. The days can’t come fast enough. Take my advice DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!
Everything is so perfect & very quite .. I love it here

I personally worked with Gabby when moving in, and she was AMAZING! All of her responses were timely and friendly, she was very sweet, informative, and patient with our paperwork issues and hang-ups, and did everything she could to speed our process along to help us move in our time constraint. As my first apartment hunting and leasing experience, Gabby and everyone in the office made it a very pleasant one, and I'm happy with my new home! The apartments are clean, comfortable, and affordable, and maintenance is amazing as well with upkeep everywhere.

I have lived in a lot of different apartment communities and have had bad experiences but this by far has been the worst. The management is fine, I've never really interacted with them. Maintenance can be quick or it may take a while depending on what you need done. I'm fine with all that. However I'm not ok with the Cockroaches. I have had several large ones (all at least an inch big) in my apartment. One fell out of the air vent and when it hit my carpeted floor, I heard it. I know some people get mad and write bad reviews but I'm not doing that. I'm letting you know you will have cockroaches in your apartment. Also over the year I have lived here I have heard gunshots three times. One time they were right outside my window. I have received about 6 notices from the office about crime in the complex. One of these notes said that 4 or 5 men robbed someone inside their apartment. Although they are affordable, I don't feel like the neighborhood is safe.
They have a serious roach problem. They willingly address it(exterminator) however they cant seem to eradicate thr problem. Was glad when my lease was up.
I am currently renting an apartment for my son and I. I am a single mother working 2 jobs to maintain in a nice, secure, stable home. Before I moved in I was told it was a bad neighborhood and that I was not going to like it. I've actually enjoyed my stay here it's been very peaceful, friendly neighbors and the staff at the office has been more than gracious with my stay here. Only problem is that the go up on the rent after your lease is over. I don't want to go through the apartment hunt again.
This was my first apartment from me leaving my parents nest, worst mistake ever. Though the pricing is great, if you don't mind roaches, rowdy neighbors, stoop kids, and staff that don't seem to care. Maintenance was good for the 2 months I stayed and it was a excellent location. p.s. police cars were in our complex every other day.
I love where I live! My apartment has plenty of space! The bedroom is large, nice bathroom size, plenty of closets and nice size kitchen & dining area. I have a large living room! It's huge for a one bedroom apartment !!!! It has a stove and refrigerator and plenty cabinets!!!! It's just beautiful !!!!i
1. They spray for roach and the problem gets worst. 2. If you have a visitor and they spend 1 night unexpectedly there car will be towed to a place 25 mins away and you will be charged a 200 minimum Fee. 3. Some of the office staff are amazing. But not all. When i went to the office about the car being towed i was told that the person should have parked in the visitors parking space provided and it would not have happened. I informed her there are no visitor parking spots nor are there visitor parking spaces around my building. Then she stated that it was our problem to take care of.
I think they should re advise there background check an give people a second chance in life the ones that are trying to get there life back because everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect it some one have change their live around and back on the right track I think they should give them a second chance in life and look at how they are doing now.
The apartment complex is just what a working person is looking for right off the belt line. Very quiet neighborhood. Staff is friendly, willing to help you with any sistuation. Don't have to feel that they only want to help those who can afford the apartment. If for some reason you are turn down they will take time to explain the reason. Great Place to live if I ever can get move in looking forward to maybe next year around June.
Having lived at Pines of Ashton for 8 + months, and, in my particular building, had I known then what I know now, I would re-think the move-in. There is an on-line tool which is very good for checking out ANY community one is considering for a move-in at the apartment of choice.
Property Manager at Pines of Ashton, Responded To This Review
What was the problem that you discovered after 8 months? And what is that online tool that you're talking about? Thanks.
I like Pines of Ashton overall. While there is one amenity that needs to be fixed to be 'as advertised', I am hopeful that it will happen. There's laughter of children ... enough to be pleasant but not annoying, at all! And, for transportation, it is on our bus lines for the city.
I am a new move-in ... and in looking for an apartment, I found the community to be well designed and basically landscaped well. I cannot comment on the 'noise' level, because I have yet to experience the environment. From walking the grounds, and observing, I don't think noise will be a problem at all.
Property Manager at Pines of Ashton, Responded To This Review
Having lived in POA for 8+ months, I must admit I made premature comments on some issues that have surfaced since I moved in. Maintenance Service is great! The community is not as I hoped nor expected.
I have honestly no complaints about the apartment that I live in, there were few bugs inside but so far they are no longer there. The location of the apartment is great, it puts me right in the middle of everything that I need to be in radius of.
