It would be easy to characterize Gainesville as a pure college town—the University of Florida is home to over 50,000 students in a city of 130,000, and the campus is arguably the defining cultural hub of the community. Between the art exhibitions, concerts, lecture series, and, of course, the wildly popular Gator sporting events, the UF campus culture is a magnet for students, locals, and visitors alike.
But Gainesville has much more to offer than just an electric collegiate atmosphere. The historic Hippodrome State Theatre anchors the thriving Downtown district, which is packed with a vibrant assortment of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants. Local favorites like Flaco’s Cuban Bakery and Volta Coffee attract a steady stream of students and non-students alike at all hours of the day and night.

Property Ratings at Pinewood Apartments I
You can't beat this location. The rent rates here are some of the most reasonable you will find anywhere without having to split the bills with roommates. The office staff here are animal lovers which makes this the perfect place to live if you have pets. The large grassy lawns mean that the view outside your window will be more than just a parking lot. I have been here for several year now and have seen how much time and attention they put into getting each unit ready for the next person to move in. The management is pretty chill. If you don't cause problems for them or your neighbors they don't bother you. Maintenance responds quickly. If you are looking for a place, come visit, walk around and talk to some of the neighbors.
I called inquiring about the units here and the staff wasn’t helpful at all. I tried going to their webpage to contact someone else but the staff link doesn’t work. Huge red flag for me
I've been living here 11 years and wouldn't think of living anywhere else. Clean apartments. Well maintained property. Excellent maintenance staff and great management. Love it here!
This is my 3rd year living in Pinewood 1. It's clean, quiet, pet friendly and a very peaceful place to live. The office and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
If I could give this 0 stars I would. The places are run down and everything is constantly broken. We were calling maintenance at least once a week. The staff is very rude and the owner is even more rude. He rides around the neighborhood and actually yells at tenants for either parking slightly crooked, not picking up dog poop right away, and other weird stuff I heard and seen from other neighbors. Don’t live here.
My apartment complex is right in the middle of everything, bus routes, restaurants but best of all, it's just the right size. It has plenty of well manicured grounds to walk and my apartment is located right across from the laundry-mat and the maintenance office. I've never had a problem getting anything fixed. Always done on the first call and done right the first time.I'm also in an end unit and blessed to have extremely quiet and friendly neighbors. The rent is also reasonable. I'll be here for a while.
Great apartment. Very quiet and has a large courtyard, great for walking your dog or if you want to walk for exercise. Friendly neighbors. Maintenance is on top of everything. First call and they come and fix it. Nice clean swimming pool and laundry room. Really can't find anything to complain about.
