Crabtree Valley is about five miles northwest of Downtown Raleigh and three miles north of NC State University. With a backyard like Umstead State Park, hiking, fishing, boating, and camping are always available. Covering 5,579 acres, this large park has 13 miles of multi-use trails, ideal for horseback riding and bicycling, and over 20 miles of hiking trails.

Pinnacle Apartments- Dog friendly, a little pricey
Pinnacle is a great community for dog owners. Nearly everyone there has one or more and understand dogs (no one gets upset over barking or just lets their dogs run loose). The apartments are spacious, though a little dated. Sarah runs the office and she's super nice and the maintenance guy, Danny, is prompt and friendly. Outside of a pool and a dog park there aren't any amenities, but you're close to the Greenway and the mall. The price is a little high, but for the community and peace and quiet it's close to worth it. The real bummer is there are never any available because people move there and don't want to leave. We got to a point when we couldn't afford the 2br and couldn't downsize to 1br because there were no openings for six months after our lease ended!

The Pinnacle Apartments
The Pinnacle Apartments are terrific. The rooms are spacious, there is a front porch with storage closet, a large deck that faces woods, acres for walking my dog, and Crabtree Valley Mall is within walking distance. However, you never hear noise or traffic from the mall because of the landscaping, full-grown trees with lots of shrubs. There is a landscape crew that comes by twice a week to keep everything clean and neat. They use leaf-blowers to clean the parking lots and all the stairs and walkways. There is a salt-water swimming pool that is beautifully maintained. The management is friendly and loves dogs.
