Property Manager at Plantations at Haywood, Responded To This Review
Thanks for sharing your 5-star rating of Plantations at Haywood! Let us know if you need any further assistance from our team.
I have been a resident here for almost a year and have enjoyed my apartment. I shopped around and they had the biggest apartments in this area for the price. I have not had any issues since moving in and the staff, office and maintenance has been great. Just got my renewal offer and I looked at other places just to see and I have not found anywhere with apartments this large. They gave me a great renewal rate. Cant beat my location either! I think a lot of times people are upset and retaliate by posting ugly reviews. I recommend going to see for yourself.
Plantation at Haywood was once a descent place to live. Cottonwood Management was Perfect compared to this New Management. This new Management is not concern with your safety at all. They don't do repairs, they do cut the grass for appearance sake. This place as gone to the Dogs. All kinds of people walking around at night. Neighbor's talk of someone going around knocking on doors saying they are maintenance. Turning door knobs, it's just not the same anymore. Take a good walk around in the daytime and at night before you sign anything. They will not return any money they owe you. So don't put a deposit down before you take a good look around.
GVA properties has ruin this complex! They hire people who don’t know what to do! They make empty promises and never fulfill them. We watched them take 4 months to get crackhead squatters out, to them move a guy and his two young kids into an apartment that wasn’t cleaned!!! It takes a year before a maintenance request is even acknowledged. Pools are never cleaned, the playground is broken and not safe for play. The office…. What a joke! They have way too many people working that don’t know what to do or have any authority to do anything. Their answer is to alway put all issues on the property manager in which she just smiles in your face and doesn’t do anything. This place was nice when we first moved in GVA properties needs to leave and another company needs to come in and do some work.
If you're looking for an apartment run far away from here!!!! It's a nightmare unless you are willing and knowledgeable enough to do your own maintenance anytime you have an issue. Have lived here for a little over a year. When we first moved in it was an excellent neighborhood with decent leasing staff. Over that year a new company came in and were clearly in over there heads with maintenance repairs. My apartment had an ongoing issue for a year but the second the lease had to be renewed they wanted to come fix all maintenance request. As of 3/27/23 a storm came in and knocked the power out to OUR ONE APARTMENT. Called the emergency maintenance hotline to try and see if the could come check out the electricity. That number is a joke. They never answer, and call back the next morning. How does only one apartment lose electricity In the entire building? Faulty wiring and crappy upkeep!! We have lived her for a year now. With constant issues and no one trying to fix them...but I can guarantee we will not be renewing our lease next year.
These apartments are terrible!!! We’ve had so many problems and they never fix anything! Bugs, squirrels, Ac going in and out, dishwasher anything you can think of! Please do not make this mistake!!
Property Manager at Plantations at Haywood, Responded To This Review
Hello there, we're sorry to hear you're less than satisfied with your time at Plantations at Haywood. Please reach out to our community manager to discuss your concerns in detail.
My husband and I have lived in the newest phase for almost 3 years now. Our first two leases were not too bad, basic apartment complaints. However, this last lease (March 2015-December 2015) has been an absolute nightmare! Our A/C has broken a total of 12 times in less than 3 years, mostly this summer. We were promised a new A/C after the 10th issue, but are now being told that its not really their problem. The back bedroom wall has leaked water for 3 years and has been painted over twice. (The first time they did not move the dresser and got paint all over it.) They say they FINALLY fixed the roof, but when it gets damp out or rains our apartment smells like a basement. But obviously we are crazy to think that there could be mold growing in there, cause you know our broken A/C is pulling all of the moisture out of the unairconditioned wall. Oh and those pretty pictures of the pools? No, there is a biological experiment going on in there. On top of all of this, they keep raising our rent every year and refuse to accept that there may possibly be an issue. Seems like the same staff from when we first moved in, but the helpfulness and customer service is gone. Oh and that one unit that is pictured with hardwoods and other beautiful upgraded stuff, no. You will get weird pink white-washed cabinets and carpet that looks like its 15 years old after about 1 year. Keep in mind this review is for the newest models, I cannot even imagine what issues the older ones have.
Plantations at Haywood is in a wonderful location on Haywood Road within walking distance of the mall. There are tons of restaurants and shopping nearby. There's a gym on site, 3 pools, a tennis court and a bark park! I don't pay nearly as much as other apartments and the size of my two bedroom is great. It's very clean even though it was built in the 80s. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the apartments are a little dated on the inside and have a few things that are older in them. Such as when I moved in I had an older fridge that just stopped working. One call to maintenance and I got a new fridge!
My apartment is big for the price. The neighborhood is nice and safe. But the apartment management is awful. Maintenance is nice.
The apartment community is in a suburban location, approximately 10 minutes from downtown Greenville. It has 3 pools, a great workout room. We have a three bedroom, two bathroom apartment with a screened-in porch. There is a washer dryer hookup in a separate large laundry room. It has a galley style kitchen with plenty of storage with a closed pantry. The bedrooms are large, each with a walk-in closet. The work crew is very nice and respond quickly if there are any repairs to be done. The staff is very kind and courteous. Trash dumpster pick-up is twice a week, so the trash never piles up. The grounds crew keeps the property well groomed. I wish the appliances were more up-to-date, but overall I really love our apartment.
I was excited to move in to my new apartment at Plantations until I realized that the apartment I signed for was completely warn down and disgusting…nothing like the beautiful model I was shown at the walk through. The maintenance staff and an office representative even told me that this place should not have been rented out to me in the shape it was in. I had work orders in for dozens of things just the first week. First, the cabinets were dirty with old food and dog hair, and the pan under the stove was filled with mouse droppings. Under kitchen sink was covered in cockroach droppings. As I began moving in, I noticed much, much more. Dishwasher falling out of the wall and completely dirty inside. Blinds falling off the wall. Toilets stopped up every time I flushed. Toilet ran constantly for two weeks before they came to fix (didnt get to use the toilet the entire time). So much more!!! You ask why did I move in, well I trusted the staff who assured me that it would be taken care of. The maintenance staff tried, but they even said the problems in that unit were so bad that they had to call out for another company to get the work done. When they came to replace the dishwasher that was falling out, they also flooded the kitchen. Maintenance ran the dishwasher to test it and left without securing the tubes….water everywhere. I happened to be out of town and the water sat there for an entire weekend. Now this is where it gets really bad….the removal of the old dishwasher brought HUGE COCKROACHES. Tons of them. The office offered to have the place sprayed (it was sprayed a week earlier) and I accepted. That did not help. I put out boric acid myself and that didn't help. So absolutely disgusting. I was so disgusted knowing that cockroaches were crawling on the kitchen countertops, the floors (which were the exact same color at the roaches), the bathrooms, etc. I couldn't even stomach it to use the kitchen. What did the management do about this you ask? Once I showed the pictures of the holes under the sinks and roach droppings, etc. they agreed to move us to another unit. This sounded great…until…they said it would cost more to be in this clean unit because of "market value". What?! I refused to pay more and was told, "I'm sorry we aren't up to your standards." This was an insult and, I believe, noone would want to live like that. That's why you're reading this review now. Don't move here. It appears very nice at first glance, but beware!
These apartments are great. There are 3 pools which is great for the summer. They have big screened porches or sun rooms. Right in the middle of town, but traffic isn't to bad.
Very nice community, and the apartments have lots of space for single people. I love having a screened-in porch ( I don't have to worry about mosquitoes during the summer), and the dog park is an awesome benefit for my little Mini Pin.
Beautiful grounds, spacious apartments, safe, well lit with a responsive and friendly staff. I have lived here almost five years and have no reason to leave! The only apartments with large screened porches and most overlook natural wooded areas. Large laundry rooms sold me on this complex. Plenty of storage and large closets. Rent is reasonable and complex is dog friendly. Excellent location close to shopping and downtown.
A wonderful complex with its unique units is beautifully set in a tree-lined community. We cannot wait to move into our unit in October!
