Property Ratings at Playa Del Oro
The fire alarms go off all the time throughout the day, so loud it’s painful to your ears. They just went off for 30 minutes last night at 3am waking everyone up, nothing has been done to fix this problems for months. They go off so frequently that people have started to disconnect their fire alarms, and Playa Del Oro’s response to that has been to send people into to EVERYONE’S apartments to inspect everyone’s fire alarms and completely invade our privacy. I WOULD NOT recommend this apartment to anyone unless you do not value your ear drums and your sleep, my ears have been ringing all day because of this terrible apartment complex.
The staff is unfriendly, unprofessional, and extremely unhelpful. They are overall unwilling to help if for example, your package is stolen (out of a secure package room) or you have questions about your lease. They brush you off and tell you they cant do anything. The apartments themselves are far from luxury and tiny. The floors are cheap and scratch easily and same with the paint which peels by itself (both of which are used to make sure they can take your $500 deposit). The appliances are not that nice and are the same as what are found in LMU’s dorms. Utilities (aside from gas and electric) are charged by “community usage” but they do not provide a break down of these costs which seems extremely shady. You could pay only slightly more to live in an actual luxury apartment and well managed community
This has been one of the worst experiences trying to move into these apartments. The staff was not the friendliest and they have very poor communication skills. If you apply They will automatically take your move in costs without ever telling you if you are approved or not. After notifying them that i never received word if i was approved before they took the holding deposit they told me that’s how it goes....The bad business from the beginning made my determining factor to not live here. If it goes wrong in the beginning.....it will go wrong during the stay. Be very cautious
We've been here two months and are ready to leave as soon as possible. Move in experience was terrible with my leasing consultant who was no help and couldn't be bothered with us. We never received a proper tour of the facility. No one showed us how to get to our apartment much less our parking spots. Move in day was a scavenger hunt for our apartment. The apartment was not properly cleaned prior to our move in, we had party decorations in our AC vent and food crumbs in the kitchen drawers. Now we currently have roaches coming into our apartment from the trash room across the hall. There's also a roach infestation in the trash rooms in the basement. When we called to complain about it, they didn't seem surprised at all. We received no apology for the disgusting problem and didn't even get an explanation for it. The staff member we talked to didn't seem surprised by our complaint, it's as if this is the norm. We were told pest control would come the next day (we called on a Sunday) and no one showed up or called. So far this place is not worth the ridiculous rent. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It has been the worst experience thus far.
Playa Del Oro apartments offers a great living experience in a great area of Los Angeles. It's location is great, minutes away from Venice/Santa Monica and also from Manhattan Beach. The secure building makes residents feel safe at home. I recommend living in this building to all of my friends, it is quiet, welcoming, beautifully designed, and it's location meets all of your needs!
playa de oro,is the perfect apartment,to live since i sold my house to take care of 2 love ones in nursing homes.i love the gym downstairs where it helps me with stress.they have a nice little coffee shop on ground floor as well.the people in the office are very nice.one young man ,even carried my boxes to the trunk of my car.if i had my way,and could afford it,i would never move out.it is also within 10 to the nursing homes in culver city…thank you playa del oro!
Playa Del Oro apartment is such an amazing apartment filled with great upgraded facilities. They have new buildings with new facilities. They have several floorplans. From a studio to three bedrooms and also lofts! Playa Del Oro have fitness place, huge swimming pools, billiard table, conference rooms, outdoor jacuzzi, sauna, BBQ grills and many other amazing facilities. There is even a vending machine. Pets are allowed. It is a very clean apartment. The service of this apartment is exceptional. Also, the price of this apartment is very reasonable for this area. In addition to that, there is coffee bean down at the street level and ralphs right beside of the apartment. In addition, it has LA fitness right below of this apartment. How amazing is that? It is about 5 minutes away from Loyola Marymount University. How about security? Playa Del Oro has an amazing security. I feel secured. Only residents can go in to the buildings and guests have to get through security people to get in. If you have guests coming to your apartment, parking will not be an issue because they have so many guests parkings. Hence, I really like living in this apartment because it is very efficient since there is a supermarket nearby, a coffee place downstair, and also it is filled with so many great facilities. Also, there are lots of restaurant nearby from Japanese, American, Italian, Thailand, and even Indonesian restaurant. If I want to go out around Los Angeles, freeways are nearby. I have been moving from place to place but this apartment caught my heart and I do not want to move. It is a great apartment and I recommend this apartment strongly.
I love the PDO apartments! The amenities are great, and the place is very new, safe and clean. My only complaint is how the rent keeps getting raised astronomical amounts. The units are very tiny and the rent is very expensive, and the rent has gone up about $300 in the 2 years I have been there. It is a great place if you are willing to be apartment poor (only spend money on your apartment). That being said I am happy I have lived here, very clean and great staff.
For the price these apartments could be a bit larger but that's fairly common in LA. I have read other reviews talking about the fire alarms that go off in the middle of the night and wake you up but I have yet to experience that in the three months that I have been here. The hallways do tend to smell bad from time to time from the trash rooms on the really hot days. The pool is extremely nice and has plenty of room to relax in, just wish the bbq's were in the pool area like they were at my last place. The apartments are very nice and have updated appliances as well as a washer and dryer nicely tucked away in a closet. Oh and they have a fire place for those cold days we get down here! Haha overall pretty nice apartments just a little pricey for what you get.
