It may not have the flashy reputation of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but Sacramento embodies the very best of what makes California so unique. The city is well known for preserving its history, from early settlements like Sutter’s Fort to the gorgeous 19th century architecture of Old Sacramento to the artifacts in the Sacramento History Museum. Pop culture and the fine arts are well-represented, with local stages hosting symphony concerts and rock shows and galleries displaying works by the old masters as well as modern upstarts. The local restaurant scene is famous for its heavy emphasis on “farm to fork” principles, making it one of the best places to find fresh, locally sourced food.
Those living in Sacramento love to take advantage of the mild climate, whether that means biking the River Trail, taking the kids to Fairytale Town, or heading over to Sutter Health Park to catch a River Cats baseball game.

Property Ratings at Plumwood Apartments
I lived in these apartments for about 3 years. Overall, it was an okay place to live - particularly for a student without my own transportation. The bus stop (that drops off near Sac State U) is located within a 7 min walk, Arden Mall is located within a 5 min drive and Target is located within a 5 min walk if you need to pick up groceries or anything else. The apartments are clean and spacious but the community is a bit sketchy. For example, I have had an online order swiped off my front door step (even though my door was slightly hidden from street view) and I have heard neighbors arguing and playing music loudly late at night. In addition, management changed constantly and rent went up by $10-15 every year which was frustrating for a student on a budget. If these issues aren't too big of a deal for you, then this apartment is one of the better ones for it's price in the Arden Area.
For the price, these apartments is definitely worth it. Relatively quiet after the new young manager moved out most of the loud and troublesome tenants. Seems like things are getting better here. Manager has limited hours but can be reached 24/7 via text, which is sorta nice. Has a pool, covered parking lots, security gate(which isn't always so functional ). The manager let me see one of the vacant apartments that are being rented out. It has upgraded flooring, appliances, and refinished countertops and look much nicer than before. I pay 850 for my 2bdroom 2 bath and 2 patio apartment. It is appx 900 sq ft. I'm really happy with that. I don't know how much the upgraded ones are being leased out for. The biggest downside would probably be the maintenance around here. No onsite maintenance, and the maintenance guy is only around twice a week. They take care of you fast only if it's an emergency like a leak. It would be nice if the units were also hooked up to dryers and washers; the laundry room only takes quarters. The location is both bad and good. Good because EVERYTHING is nearby. schools, clothes stores, hardware, mall, university, state fair, automotive shops, Costco, golf courses, freeway access etc. The bad is the surrounding area (not the complex itself). By that I mean Wyda way (street perpendicular and about 200 yards out) , which isn't the funnest street to walk down on at night. You'll see bums and suspicious people here and there passing by, and once in a while they will entire onto the property (to attempt dumspter diving). They aren't dangerous, just bad to look at. Overall I would say it's pretty good. I would recommend it for college students, because it's not bad if you split rent and get one bedroom and bathroom to yourself.
