Situated just over three miles northwest of Downtown Minneapolis, Glenwood Junction consistently ranks as one of the best suburbs in Minneapolis. There’s a diverse renter population here, including families, students, commuting professionals, and everyone in between. Residents praise the area for its attractive streets, lush landscape, nearby parks, and top-notch schools.
There’s a modest selection of restaurants, shopping centers, and entertainment options scattered around the neighborhood, the bulk of which you’ll find along Highway 55. But the main calling card of Glenwood Junction is Theodore Wirth Regional Park, and the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden. Both green spaces give the area a lush feel and make it a welcome escape from the city that lies just a few minutes away.

Property Ratings at Plymouth Commons
The amount of complaints everyday is ridiculous. Everyday there letter’s put to people doors about the smallest thing. I think people fail to realize these are an apartment and not your personal house. You literally have people living under, bedside and on top of you I’m not sure what do you expect. This is why people get houses to be in their personal space and back yard. You don’t expect people to pay the amount of money they’re paying here to be caged in like a animal ! To eat ,sleep, wake up and play when you want them to. Is literally like walking on egg shells, you’re looking over you shoulders to make sure you’re not doing nothing wrong the smallest thing. I’m sure this is why management don’t do much because the complaints are so annoying. This place is not luxury neither is it your personal house. Let people be in peace.
Hey y’all, I actually lived in two of these apartments before. We had the top floor of the older building and moved into another building on the second floor. The first building was always dirty looking in the hallways, the floors would always creak and it would sometimes stink, but it was all in all, okay (only because we had the top floor.) We moved to the second building because it was recently remodeled and it looked nice but soon regretted it, because our upstairs neighbors were loud. It’s even worse because these apartments have wooden paneled floors, so it’s EXTRA loud. Every single day my family and I hears stomping and footsteps. We’ve never poked the ceiling so many times. We’ve gone to management and they’ve done NOTHING to help. It’s hard trying to sleep and go to work when you work second or third shift and kids are jumping and stomping around from 7am to 10pm. It’s insane. To add more salt to the wound, this area has thieves. Management has not said anything about it, nor did they put up any camera’s to help. It’s just sad when there are car jackets here, and people stealing things out of your car, like how I got a Christmas present of mine stolen. Management doesn’t do anything basically leave it to the police and let it happen over and over again. Please reconsider living here, unless if you have a chance to live on the top floor where it’s peaceful. Take what you will with this info!
I see in some reviews there are negative comments regarding the management, and I’m thinking these are people that must be very hard to please. I have had nothing but positive encounters with the staff. Any issues I have had have been immediately solved. I love that they are dog friendly and offer a decent space for dog exercise. I am on the old side but have had no water issues as I see others have complained about. I would like to see the hallway on my side get some new carpet- but I have been told it’s in the works. Great place for the amount I’m paying!
This apartment complex is extremely poorly managed and the ownership is no better. The apartments themselves are also cheaply made and repairs are band aid fixes to save money. There are PLENTY of apartment complexes in the area, even across the street, that are similar in cost/size that are MUCH better quality. Don't waste your time.
The negative reviews posted years ago are not supported by my 4 or so years of living here. The grounds are very well-maintained, the common areas are always clean, and I'm proud to have guests come to visit. The pool is phenomenol. The sense of safety and community is enhanced by the lack of security doors. The first thing our guests see should not be bolts and locks. The management has been nothing but courteous and professional. I have never heard a bad word among my neighbors about the staff. The maintainance man is prompt, friendly, and highly skilled. The comaradarie among the neighbors is quite apparent. Everyone wants this to be a nice place to live, and is appropriately respectful of each others boundaries. Friendly an unobtrusive people live here, and all seem to enjoy it. Plymouth Commons is great place for kids. With an elementary school just a nine-minute bus ride from the complex, the convenience can't be beat. And then, even those of us without pets get to appreciate the lovingly cared-for pets who grace the property. Never any issues with the sweet pups... Or their owners. There is a brand new building on the property now. If you are pleasant, relatively quiet, and respectful, Im sure you would be pleased with choosing this place to hang your hat.
I am now going into the 4.5 years of living in my apt here at Plymouth Commons. I love the staff. They are always so kind. I had some serious health issues, and a time I had no job. The staff worked with me, they new I loved my home here. I don't have maintenance issues often, but when I do the staff is on it within 24-48 hours. I am amazed how quick they respond. I get the best in maintenance, never disappointed. I love how pet friendly they are here too, I love the neighbors, people who live here are awesome neighbors. I have never had an issue with noise or complaints with wrongs. I love that my family and friends can come here, and not have to stand at a locked door to get in. I love how safe I feel living here. I love everything about my apartment here, the location is perfect. I would highly recommend living at Plymouth Commons if you are looking for an affordable, comfortable place to live.
Decent place to live, rent is cheap but you get what you pay for. The remodeled apartments are nice. A Major flaw is that there is a keyless entry so anyone can get into your apartment building. They allow pets
This was the worst experience i ever had in my life. The staff has no manners, they are very careless towards all. Usually i won't completely trust the reviews, but now on wards i started trusting. I saw the water leakage from the roof, the apartment we went to was very ugly, i thought that the staff didn't informed about the visit. I didn't see anything good there.
I've lived on the "old side" for about a year and a half now, and I grow more disgusted every day. There are constant leaks through the ceilings in many of the hallways and apartments. Only bandaid repairs are only done leaving moisture, smells and black mold. I am embarrassed to have any visitors. Also the name of this apartment building recently changed to hide its history. Search "plymouth oaks apartments" if you want real reviews. The only reason I give this place 2 stars is the amount of space for the money and they are dog friendly.
The place looks ok, but a little bit too far away from the school I am attending, so decided not to move there.
