Property Ratings at Pointe at Harden Ranch
PRICES SHOWN ARE NOT WHAT YOU PAY. THEY TACK ON ALMOST $200 DOLLARS FOR WATER SEWAGE AND GARBAGE. THIS IS NOT DISCLOSED ANYWHERE UNTIL AFTER YOU SIGN THE LEASE. THEY WILL NICKLE AND DIME YOU. ACTUAL COST IS AT LEAST $250/MONTH OVER WHAT THEY ADVERTISE. THEY WILL KEEP YOUR HOLDING DEPOSIT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO MOVE IN AFTER THEY DISCLOSE ALL THESE FEES.
I'm currently living here and i hate it, its super dirty, it is not renovated for the price you are paying. Also you pay for garbage water and sewer... and the parking is ridiculous.
I lived here 2 years ago and the place is still as bad as it was back then. The place says its a gated community but its never closed. When I moved here there was a homicide and they didn't do anything about it. Didn't fee safe after that.
I moved to Salinas in 2016 for work. The Pointe at Harden Ranch Apartments weren't the first on my list, but ultimately was the one I chose to spend the next two years here because of the location, community, affordability, and management. I hate commuting, I don't know how you Californians do it. PaHR is near the 101, you have two on ramps north and south of the apartment complex so if one tends to get backed up you're able to use the other and get on your way. The apartments are in the outskirts of Salinas which means you won't get the heavy hussle and bussle of crowded city streets. It's north of the mall with plenty shopping centers and grocery stores near the complex. PaHR is very nicely laid out, I use to deliver pizzas in high school, some of the disasters of apartments I had to navigate through were ridiculous. Everything here is straightforward. Covered parking, mailboxes, dog parks, exercise rooms, pool/spa, and play grounds are all very well maintained by the grounds crew. The units are a bit older but they are always getting renovated and kept up to date. Price for a single room unit was probably the best I found when scouting for a place to stay, from that aspect I highly recommend. Management was always so willing to attend to whatever needs I had. Leaky sink, clogged drain, flooded apartment. Etc... Stuff happens, I'm not going to get angry at them for mother nature, but they were always on top of it whenever it came to getting something fixed. There was only one time I had to get straight with them about a pretty persistent annoying issue. Don't come here thinking you're going to be living in the Cadillac of apartments, come here knowing you have a home that will always be here for you with a management and staff keep it professional.
I am not typically the type to leave bad reviews but I could not ignore this. This has been the WORST apartment complex that I have ever done business with. The office staff is very rude and condescending. I was lied to about my move in cost and told to pay an extra $300 after I moved in because of a mistake on their end. The grounds are horribly kept. I saw a pile of trash sit in front of an apartment for 2 months before a resident decided to clean it up. Parking is terrible if you have two vehicles. One space is guaranteed but the other is rare to find if you get home after 6pm. There is no guest parking. They charge $36 for trash! No valet service just a regular dumpster that is overrun the majority of the time. I was told when I moved in that I would have updated appliances and that was the main reason I signed my lease. Only to find out that I did not have updated appliances but appliances that were over 10 years old. Since I have been there, my stove, dishwasher, washer and dryer have been replaced with even older models. This place is a joke. I have seen other UDR properties in other cities but this one is an embarrassment to the UDR brand. Please do more research and find another place to live.
I am so happy just moving here. My neighbors couldn't be more friendly.
Office staff is pretty nice, service requests are done quickly and concerns are listened to. Can't help the area though, packages get stolen and shady people sometimes loiter but the place is on the outskirts of town, so it could be worse! The guy who installed my internet said there are gangs on the other side of the complex. Also pet friendly, so far this is nice.
Gated complex with broken gates. The occasional roach. Snotty management and old wiring. No one picks up after their dog. And on a lighter note they have a gym and a pool. Conveniently placed on opposite sides of the complex...
