Property Ratings at Polo Club
The property is well kept on the surface level. However, the exterior of buildings and decorations seems to be the only priority of management and the front office. We lived there for two years, and at first thought some of the issues were due to Covid but now know that was not the case. Our unit had heating and cooling issues from the moment we moved in. They constantly had maintenance over, who never ultimately fixed anything. The apartment never got to the set temperatures and the A/C or furnace ran non-stop in summer and winter months (resulting in obscene utility bills). The hot water heater broke and the replacement was improperly installed leading to a flood in the middle of the night, which left us out of the apartment for days without any reimbursement or support from management. We had to call repeatedly for updates on when we could return. There is no organization in the front office, with an outdated system that alienates residents. They give you a printed event calendar each month on your door, but no other communication is made with residents. Even when a building burned down, residents were never updated as to the cause of the fire. The only staff who seemed committed to help residents were the maintenance guys, Hans and Frank. They were the only people who treated us with any humanity. GMS management does not care about their residents, with the cost of rent, none of the amenities make the actual living experience with them worth it.
Management and ladies in the front office are rude, disorganized and unprofessional. Multiple maintenance issues went ignored by them (though the actual maintenance men are nice and wonderful, it does feel like they're forced to do things on a budget). I've had to go into the office to make requests because my request wasn't getting done over the phone. I watched a lady write down my request on a post-it and stick it on another desk -- it's 2022, you need a better system. I've been in the office multiple times and heard the ladies in the office trash talking tenants and their units. I even heard them talking about my own unit, when I confronted them they "claimed" it was a different unit they were talking about (like that makes it better?) even though I heard them say my name and unit number. Our A/C unit never worked properly the entire time we lived there. On summer days it rarely got below 75 despite running 24/7 - when we called we were told it was because we were on the top floor even though our neighbors didn't have the same issues. We paid well over $200 in electric on those months. Plus our electricity never worked well, only half of our outlets were functional and we had our power flicker or go out any time there was wind. An entire apartment building in the complex burnt down in the middle of the night and we were never given any reason as to why it happened. The people who were displaced had an awful time with them afterwards as well. This place could be gorgeous and wonderful, but the management is so bad that it'll never get there. They need an overhaul of whatever systems they have in place (and honestly, a new staff).
we lived there almost 14 years. this joke of an apartment blamed us for problems that the poorly built apartment caused. then when me moved out we never got back our security deposit. which was over $2,000. stay away from this dump.
lived at the Polo Club for 7 yrs. At any point, I could have purchased a home, staying in a luxury apartment with an amazing onsite property team and maintenance group kept me here. Courtney, Marcy, Chris, Pam, Joey & Mike always went above and beyond to make sure anything with me or my apartment were fixed and taken care of timely. I felt safe raising my daughter there. The memories from the pictures of the beautifully landscaped property each season and holidays will live on in our pictures. Every year we traditionally took them by the clubhouse for every school dance from 6th grade to senior prom. Thank you to everyone there who was a part of my living experience. I would highly recommend The Polo Club to anyone!!! Lyndsi
After living here a year, I learned a very valuable lesson— there are people who do not understand how to run an apartment complex at all. I took my own money and gave away gift cards and gifts to the residents for having nice patios for Memorial Day weekend since this place wouldn’t do it. I was planning on doing it again for the July 4th but I have to save my money since they decided to not to renew my lease after I kept asking them when they were going to repair the three broken windows in my apartment before the signing of my new lease in less then ten days. They also told me I would have to run my air conditioner continually to keep the tiles dry in my apartment which leaves a problem since there is a clause in the lease saying if the air conditioner breaks I would be responsible for it. I requested to be place on a wait list to be moved to another apartment in December due to my disabilities and somehow all these other people were placed before me. Now I’m schedule for bilateral knee replacement surgery and this place tells me now to move. Also be careful, they have peeping Toms and people who break into your apartment regularly.
The grounds of the Polo Club are beautiful, unless you're really looking. The whole place is littered with dog poop. When you complain (because you don't have a dog and shouldn't have to stare at someone else's lack of human decency) nothing is ever done. Dog poop remains EVERYWHERE. Especially the dog park, and they supply dog bags and a place to dispose of it too! Things brake and only one maintenue man knows how to fix anything correctly. The entire staff except for one older lady in the office are rude and take 0 pride or enthusiasm to be working there. Like the residents are the issue. No one ever stops at the stop signs and I've almost been hit on numerous occasions, both walking and driving. The apartments are loud (if you have someone living above you) and the halls smell funny. One trash compactor for the whole place (they really pride themselves on minimizing the waste areas, which does more harm because 90% of the time it's overflowing with trash), most people just throw their stuff away in the recycling dumpster. It's ridiculous. The apartments have no insulation and they're freezing cold. The garages don't keep anything safe from the elements so storing anything of importance in there is foolish. Not to mention that they don't have enough garages for every unit (which is included with your apartment rental). Few pluses, lots of parking. Easy access to freeway. They're seasonal/holiday decorations are pleasant.
Complex & company did NOTHING for those who lost their jobs due to Covid-19. Bullets shot into my apartment with no help or answers from management.
POLO CLUB ....I was so impressed with Lela and everyone in the leasing office before we even moved in, and now that we are actually living in the Polo Club , the owners ,management and custodial workers take care of this property is above and beyond anything I ever expected :) AND THE APARTMENT !!!! It is absolutely amazing.. All of the finishes are so beautiful:))) Lela was amazing ! She is very detailed , attentive and really listened to any little thing I mentioned:) We are so so happy to be here... we truly feel like we are living in the lap of apartment luxury:) pretty positive we will be here a while :) Thank you Mary Sent from my iPad
My wife and I moved to the Cleveland area for a year and in the time we stayed here, at the polo clubs. I couldn't recommend it higher to anyone in the area, right next to the mall being a huge convenience. Shout out to the incredible staff there, everyone from the maintenance workers to the staff in the office such as Leila and Chris. This place was awesome and I thank you for the time I got to spend here.
I downsized from my home a few years ago and lived in a 1 bedroom/1 bath for a year that I absolutely loved! The kitchen was small, but it was just me at the time and it worked. The bathroom was gorgeous and there was plenty of space in the bedroom and living room. I'm now in a 2 bedroom/2 bath with the private entrance. I am in love with my kitchen at this place and it has a larger laundry room. I open my garage from my unit and can start it with the remote from the window. Any time I've called maintenance, they've been over same day and took care of what was needed the first time. I use the fitness room and there's always available equipment and the pool in the summer has been very nice. The office has little fun events on occasion that I find to be a cute addition.
