Property Ratings at Polo Run Apartments
This place is cheaply made, it has so many coats of paints. It’s in a good area if you like hearing gunshots or sirens everyday. Residents are loud and management won’t do anything about it. When you go to move they won’t give your new apartment any information making it harder to move out.

Living here for more than 3 years and never seen any delays in maintenance services. Appreciate the work done by office staff to organize several fun events. Great place to stay. One con staying here is the apartments having less square feet.
Mice (a variety of mice little ones medium sized ones mice as big as squirrels), mold, old noisy buildings.

I just moved out of my parents house, so I'm young and I dont know much about what to look for when getting a place. When I touring these apartments they seem fine on the surface a little outdated but fine. they are worse than they appear from a far. up close they are extremely outdated and repaired or "updated" by painting over the old stuff. Once you see one thing painted over to look "better" you notice it all. I can hear people outside my window like they are standing next to me. my doors screech like no other, and I came to realize they screeched because the hinges didn't have pins in them. they were held together by nails inside the hinges. and the air registers are just painted over year after year and they are so disgusting im not surprised im living paycheck to paycheck since my A/C has to work so hard to blow through these dirty vents. not to mention our "included" water amenity smells like chemicals. My apartment has recently been recarpeted and in every spot that turns into hard flooring. the carpet isn't attached to the ground. and when you put in a maintenance report you don't hear anything back unless its something small.

Trash constantly overflowing from bins, residents leave trash in the halls. No phone signal. If you want internet, you have to use their service which caps at 100mbps at the cost of fiber from other companies and they don't provide a wifi router. So if there is an emergency, hope you have a landline.

We are so sorry to see that you have not enjoyed your time at our community as much as we would like you to. Please keep in mind, if an internet maintenance request is submitted to our front office before 3:00 PM, we will go out to your apartment and troubleshoot any and all internet problems the same day the report is submitted. We are the only community to do this. If you notice any internet, or other, issues, please notify us as soon as possible and we will send someone out to troubleshoot the situation. Thank you.
The apartment is fine. The management, however, is 2 faced. They are nice and welcoming, but when something goes wrong, they give an attitude. My AC was broken for a month. Each time I put in a work order, it would come back “complete”. The work order was never done. I had to call 3 times to notify them of this, and they continued to ignore it. Finally, after treating to leave due to their lack of concern for the hot weather, they decided to fix it. They stated they can only work on it if it’s above 65. Then someone else said it has to be 70, and “they don’t know where I got that information”. Additionally, they do not allow aggressive breeds. There are many pit bulls on property, but as soon as I had a family German Shepherd VISIT, I could not have it. This management is extremely inconsistent, and there seems to be an explanation for everything wrong. Otherwise, the apartments are fine, and neighbors are okay.

I lived here for a year. During that year, my water heater went out 4 times. They were fairly quick at fixing it (they always came the same day I put the request in), but there’s no reason the water heater should stop working that often. I don’t take a lot of showers, just your usual daily morning shower before leaving for the day. They never even offered to put in a new water heater which they should probably have done after it stopped working for the 3rd or 4th time. Other than that, my stay here was alright. Also, heads up, make sure your carpets are spotless when you move out or else they’ll hit you with a $50 carpet cleaning fee in addition to the $150 cleaning fee you paid when you moved in.

I was super happy the first time I lived here and the second time I lived here. That being said, I was extremely unhappy when I left this place. My girlfriend left and it was an entire process to get her removed from the lease and a new one in my name. I had to reapply to stay there, I had to pay the application fee again, they neglected to inform me they changed their approval process while I lived there. They refused to renew my lease on the basis of a 5 year old misdemeanor that was not drug related or violent related. I had already had been approved the 2nd time living there and had the misdemeanor, it was suddenly an issue a couple months before I was due to make the lease solely in my name. I paid my rent every single month, I was not a troublesome resident. The management is not great, they have a revolving door of employees. The maintenance crew will not accommodate people that work different shifts than day shift (I work nights and have requested to have maintenance do regular things during early or later afternoon hours specifically so I don't have someone entering my apartment while I sleep or if I happen to be in the middle of dressing or showering), they would not prioritize or even bother to call or text prior to coming to my apartment. When leaving, I was instructed to vacate by Saturday at midnight, I was out by Saturday afternoon but because their office was closed and they have removed the drop box, they charged ME an extra two days past my lease. They refused to return my phone call in regards to dropping off my key on Monday because they were closed on Saturdays after noon and all day Sundays. They also charged me for replacing carpet that was due for replacement BEFORE I moved in. Also, while I like being able to pay my rent online (via app). Not everyone has access to maintain an app. I have also had the app double charge my rent. I even provided proof because they started charging me late fees because my account did not have enough for double rent. They refused to remove the late fee and continued to charge it when I didn't pay it and complained about it the next month. They also "turned off" the AC units in 2017 when we started to get hot weather early in the year. My apartment was easily over 80 degrees inside before they bothered to turn on or even notify residents the AC units were turned off and they would be turning them back on. I will not return to Polo Run and I will not recommend it.
I should have never moved here. The rent may be low but trust me they make up for it with everything else. They charge a 25 dollar administrative fee on top of a 3 dollar service fee for paying your rent online. The problem is you can only pay rent online or through a separate entity. I will not be renewing my lease next year.
I’m coming up on my one year here and I love it. I’m definitely signing another lease. The staff is great. They take great care of landscaping. They have resident events nights that show they call about the people here. Wonderful community!!!

Thank you so much for the 4 stars! Have a great day!
I don't know why people would ever give Polo Run a bad review. I love the staff and they know me by name. I received a birthday card on my birthday and one on Christmas. The apartments are worth more than what you pay for.
Every thing are so bad ,service, building, people don't make such a mistake
All the negative reviews are true. That office couldn't care less what was going on as long as they get paid and no one complains about frequent random charges.. The entire 2 years I've lived there has felt like one huge scam. Story after story of why they want more $$ and constantly some sort of mixup, confusion or something being wrong that benefits them. Whole time having an attitude as they're wonderful and can't be touched and entitled to whatever they ask for. This was the last time. After 2 years paying rent and dealing with that place, they come at me this year with a story of having to re-apply for the apartment I've lived in for 2 years (never moved out).. They tell me on Dec. 23rd that I need to re-apply and have the applications in by the 1st.. I had to tell them it would have to wait since the bad timing of letting me know on Christmas, people are kind of short on cash that time of year.. After $80 towards applications they decided that wasn't enough and hit me with the new lease to sign.. That said they wanted an additional $1000 /- in fees (including a SECOND security deposit). Now it's time to find a decent place to live..
Polo Run is close to tons of shopping in Greenwood. Public transportation is just across the street which makes it easy for me to commute downtown
From the day I was supposed to move in, this apartment complex has forgotten about me. The staff is friendly enough, but it is all a front. The apartment itself is decent, not the biggest or smallest I've had & the rent is acceptable. The lights go out in my hallway but no one ever replaces them. Or if they do, they go out again in a week. (I should mention, I work nights, so I'm never out in the daylight, so I do need the hallway lights to work.) And maintenance does the very least they can possibly do to get out the door......but that has to be every apartment complex, right? They do have a very nice dog park here....too bad I only have cats :)
This is a very nice apt for the price and the location. It is located near parks , pool, mall etc.
Apartment is good, for walk thought, rent is over priced, 600 for basement apartment, fee is 50 dollars for first time, i was on time for 10 months, fitness center all equipment is broke, repair people take two months to fix anything, no working on vehicle or get a fine
Price is ok for size of apartment. Utilities are included however, electric is not. Walls are thin but are duable. Great location! Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Staff is very friendly. Washer and dryer in every building is nice!
First off we moved in in 2011 and when we first moved in the office staff they had were fantastic and maintance was on top of everything! Even if we had a minimal problem and called the office and had to leave a message someone always got back to us within the hour, whether it was maintance or the office staff themselves, and things got takin care of immediatly! Within our first year of living here though, people started leaving due to new jobs, moving, ect. and the office staff has definitly declined! As well as maintance, we use to know of events going on whether it was something as small as no fireworks or maintance will be in your apartment today, ect. now with that being said, after our first year here we re-signed our lease but moved to a more spacious apartment, the apartments are nice, not bad, not the greatest..wasnt ever a concern of mine, they were clean and kept up on...well once we moved to our more spacious apartment, we did not recieve 1 paper! not one, except 1 the day before they did a very unorganized way of sealcoating the parking lot! the day before! And not to mention when we moved in to our new apartment, we called the office and maintance 5 times in 1 week over the same thing we needed! I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt then but its been getting worse! we recently had a major problem that needed to be fixed again(within a day of it being "fixed" once) and when we called the office the response was "well i will let him know, we only have 1 guy on call on weekends, and were swamped" seriously! thats not my problem! dont staff one guy to take care of 900 people by imself when everyones home to call in any issues they have, her response "well weve been shortstaffed" again not my problem!!! get it handled! I realize that no matter where u live, whether its an apartment, a house ur renting or even own, nothings going to be perfect, i do not expect it to be, but make your residents your number 1 priority, which is how it use to be, and i just want to point out that i am not mad at maintance, theyre good guys who work their butts off day and night, and they really do a good job at whatever task they have, but the office staff is terrible, and theyre very unorganized! Needless to say, we will NOT be re-signing and out of here, quite frankly, i think they care more about planting stupid flowers, and fake paving of the pavment more than the happiness of the people who gave them their commision and pay rent every month! Overall, terrible terrible service by the office staff and very unorganized!! I do not recommend living here for anyone!!! young, old or in between!!!! YUCK!!!!!
This apartment complex has had amazing office staff and help. whenever there is a problem they have been there to fi it and work with us if we have any complications
