Property Ratings at Port Terrace
Private entrances, two included parking spots (one in garage, one in parking lot). The garage does have room for storage, but not much. The rooms are a good size. I can't hear my neighbors most of the time. It is within waking distance to a Culvers, 5 mins drive from downtown Port, 10 mins from Grafton. They do not put much effort into making the outside "pretty" but the side walks and driveways were always cleared of snow. and mostly salted in the winter. My only one complaint is that there is only one a/c unit, in the living room. No amount of fans brought that cold air into the bedrooms so we had to purchase a unit just for the bedroom. There are no bugs. 2nd floor units have a little deck. Has washer/dryer unit in the apartment. Appliances are older but still running fine. They allow one cat or one small dog. I once needed help with my heat, which wasn't an emergency at the time, and maintenance called me within an hour to talk to me about it.
Had to struggle to view a unit because management cancelled on me for the viewing. Tried to reschedule the viewing and they threatened to cancel the second attempt viewing it if I didn't call them within 15 mins of them calling me. Which was 30 minutes before my viewing. Every transaction with them was annoying. She was uninformed - didn't even know if there was a w/d in unit or if they accepted pets. I wanted to view both apartments that were available and told her that, but she only set up one for me to see - which was filthy and completely cluttered and a waste of my time, albeit lies on the renter's negligence. After a long battle of irresponsible management and time wasted, they failed to mention that they need you to make 3 times the amount of rent each month to be approved. After I spent $55 applying, I called management and they said they told me which was a bold-face lie because I would not have applied if that was the case. They will scam you.
This apartment complex has some nice features but lacks up keeping. I really enjoy the washer and dryer in the unit and the private garage. It is pretty quiet and the neighbors are nice. The management group for these apartments doesn't really like to up keep anything unless they are asked or forced to. They don't really do much landscaping or yard work. They don't trim the trees or bushes. They are really hesitant to even come out to the unit unless they have to.
Large 2 bedroom, cathedral ceilings, private entry second floor apartment with a balcony that overlooks neighborhood baseball diamond. Summer nights are wonderful on the deck watching a ball game, or fireworks peeking over the trees, and listening to music drift up from the harbor bandshell. Also adjacent to a public park with a picnic shelter and a gentle hill popular for winter sledding. Easy access to major highways and about 20 minutes north of Milwaukee. Pros: 2 parking spaces (1 in a detached garage, other in parking lot), laundry in the unit, heat included, appliances included. Cons: Heat only available from October to May, single wall unit AC in living room, limited storage, yearly rent increases.
