If you’re looking for a central location in Oxnard, Sierra Linda is an excellent choice. This small residential neighborhood is only two miles from Downtown Oxnard and six miles from Oxnard State Beach Park. Sierra Linda is also just south of the Santa Clara River, giving residents easy access to waterfront green space and the River Ridge Golf Club. Several nearby beaches like McGrath State Beach and Campground and Harbor Cove Beach provide residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy California’s warm climate. Sierra Linda has a playground, restaurants, and stores within the neighborhood, but several commercial hubs surround the area as well, such as the Collection at RiverPark, a trendy al fresco mall with a gourmet food hall. Complemented by palm-tree-lined streets, Sierra Linda has apartments and Mediterranean-style houses available for rent.

Property Ratings at Porta Rossa Apartments
I owed $12 and was being threated to be evicted. I understand the law is the law but $12 is enough for an eviction notice? The apartment itself is alright, a little old but alright.
No excellence found here. Descriptions are lies. Purported policy says "no aggressive breeds," yet there are numerous pitbulls or pitbull mixes here. 25 lb. weight limit for dogs is not enforced. Also, despite bag dispenser and disposal units around the premises, many people don't pick up after their dogs. Gang members, or gang wannabes have begun infiltrating the complex; police are here 3 or 4 times/month, at least. There is no quiet; loud music, loud talking, car horns at all hours inundate the area. There was recently a gang-type riot on premisis, with at least on person critically injured. People, non-residents, come through the complex at all times of the day and night. Trash is everywhere. The dumpster area looks like a landfill with trash spilling over and out of the dumpsters onto the ground. Discarded used furniture often lines the wall of the building closest to the dumpster area. The newly refurbished laundry room has been repeatedly vandalized. My advice, find someplace else to live.
I would give it zero stars but there is no option. This is the worst place ever. The management suck and they are never available. They don’t tell you they are infested with roaches. They come and “fumigate” but they won’t go away.Trust me you don’t want to live here. There is never any parking to have friends or family come over or your car will get towed away by the security.
Their waste management is horrible. They have 4 large trash bins for the entire complex (no recycling option-not environmentally friendly) that are uncovered and ore often overflowing. During windy days, the trash literally is EVERYWHERE; on the grass, scattered in the parking lot area, and the sidewalks are often littered with trash. During hotter days, you can smell the trash from inside your apartment since it's located in the middle of the complex. Never have a seen them clean the bins once, and I think this is the main reason for their giant rat/cockroach problem. They also have a big termite problem, but I think it's also because of all the infestation that gets attracted by the trash. Tried to talk to management, been ignored, tired of being ignored and smelling trash. Definitely will not recommend.
Property Manager at Porta Rossa Apartments, Responded To This Review
You spoke and we listened, thank you for your comment. We now have the trash picked up daily and a grounds keeper that gets any trash on and around the community. Since your review management has identified all the units that were contributing to the pest issue and have resolved those issues. Oh and we now have several blue recycling bins for anyone that would like to help the planet. We are here in the office 9am - 6pm and are ready to listen. Thank You, Porta Rossa Management
I wouldn't recommend to live here not one bit. Sadly as good as it looks and what they say, they're no perks to it. The apartment is really tiny inside. You will have cockroaches inside your apartment no matter how clean or how much you make the effort to get rid of them and better yet you will have mold inside your apartment too. Usually residents don't know when it's time not to get loud but yet they don't care. Residents dogs usually seem to be off the leash and attack other residents dogs, which it's annoying. Porta rossa doesn't really have maintaince on site and when they do maintenance doesn't really want to help you in your needs or do anything to make sure the apartment complex is clean and sometimes they like to act like they're the manager. Lastly the patrol is just to check on the pool but the pool only gets cleaned one a month.
Nice apartment, quite and clean. Good facilities on the grounds including laundry. Its very close to everything in Ventura and Oxnard. It is also within driving distance of LA, and it easy to get to the highway from the apartment. It is a nice place for people on the go.
This is my review and experience may vary from tenant to tenant. To start these apartments are kind of small they are although great for a small family. On our first week of move in cockroaches started to appear from behind the stove, microwave and cabinets. We got rid of them for a while but came back, now we are not a messy household so they must be from the neighbors. Speaking of neighbors some are peaceful some are just plain loud and obnoxious. Parking is the worse part. Their is no parking to be found close you do get your assigned parking spot but if you have 2 or more vehicles good luck finding a spot on the street. I personally don't like parking far because of either vandalism or theft. My previous car got stolen not too long ago from parking it far from the complex. You have to be careful where you park or your vehicle will get towed. All in all the worst apartment we've lived in from my personal experiences.
