Property Ratings at Portola Biltmore
We pay too much to live in a place that isn’t kept up. The washers are nasty and dirty they smell so bad. They have changed the gate code and tell us we have to pay to get a new one. The manager is fake and acts like she cares. We pay 35.00 fee every month for keep up or whatever they call it but I don’t see them doing much. My apartment is hot 24/7 even with the two windows I can open. Guess they don’t want tenants to stay or Recommend them. Did I mention bugs and I have had there bug guy in my apartment and I still have them.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about Bloom 24. If you would like to provide your real name so the office can contact you about your concerns, please feel free to call at (602) 957-0100 as the one provided doesn't match any residents for the property. The Bloom 24 Team
If I could give this place negative stars I would. I NEVER write reviews but I want to save people from this place. The new management is TERRIBLE. They “urge” you to contact them with any concerns?? GOOD LUCK GETTING THEM ON THE PHONE. You have to walk down to the office to ever make contact with anybody and when you do, good luck having your concerns addressed. They changed the gate code without alerting anybody and when we addressed it with them they stated we had to pay to get the new gate code. Are you kidding? You’re going to charge residents to enter their own homes? Also, the AC has been off since November and the heat turned on. They just decided to turn the heat off on March 6th but said they will not be turning the AC on until it is no longer cooler at night because they don’t want residents to be uncomfortable in their homes. THIS IS ARIZONA! We’re already uncomfortable! If getting nickel and dimed for every single little thing is your style, then live here. If being uncomfortable and never having your concerns addressed is your thing, then live here. Otherwise do yourself a HUGE favor and look elsewhere.

We understand that new changes within ownership and management can be a little concerning, but rest assured that we want to make Bloom 24 the best it can be and will make the necessary steps to do so. Thank you, The Bloom 24 Team
I've been living here since February and have had a great stay. The management was in transition when I arrived and from what I've experienced they have been helpful and pleasant. The community has been fine and most neighbors I've met are super nice and pretty quiet. The 2 bed loft my roommate and I share is awesome. When we moved in there were some issues with the shower head and they were fixed next day. The walls a thick concrete so no sound from neighbors. Awesome part all utilities are included. There are always cons... Packages have been stolen a TV in particular a surprise gift my roommate was supposed to receive. I had seen on one occasion a rat in the laundry room. There are big holes in the wall from what looks like remodeling so I am assuming they moved in. Next is both a pro/con... You have these giant glass windows in the living room which look great but there are also these panel glass area that let's the cold/hot air out (good thing they cover the bills). I have not had bug issues but after the rain the big roaches do appear out side. Too many stray ( I assume stray) cats. There are cats roaming about the complex now they seem to be increasing since people leave out food for them. Some of these cats have started hanging out by my front windows and fighting with my cat. This wouldn't be a problem if they weren't spraying near the window. I know it seems like a lot of cons but they are just some few things I've noticed that irked me. I've enjoyed my stay and would like to renew my lease but I need to move closer to work. I would recommend you at least see the property and units they really are nice and having all of the shops just north of you less than like a mile or 2 away is great.

Thank you for your positive review of Bloom 24! We apologize about your package, and thank you for letting us know about other matters to address. Best of luck on your future endeavors! Bloom 24 Team.
I’ve lived here for almost a year and I am counting down the days to move out. The apartment is recently remodeled and looks great. I was sold after my first tour and was excited to live here. However, after moving in, I quickly realized this place has a HUGE bug problem. I have lived in several apartments and am an extremely clean person, however, this is the first apartment where I have seen cockroaches daily. They are in the kitchen, dishwasher, bathtub, bedroom, etc. I asked the office on two occasions to have my apartment sprayed and was assured they had me scheduled. Afterwards, I was assured my apartment was sprayed and I have seen just as many bugs. I bought bug spray and traps and for every one I kill three more appear. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!
The building has roaches; if it rains too hard the ground level apartments flood (I couldn't use my apt for a month without any compensation), rent up goes while the quality of everything goes down, dumpsters overflow and get stuffed with couches, mattresses (bed bugs?), etc, washing machines smell like mold, manager changes every month. Renter beware. The other review is also correct as this was a nice place to live three years ago when I moved in, but that is no longer the case.
Property Manager at Portola Biltmore, Responded To This Review
Dear Resident, Thanks for taking the time to review. Please allow me to address some of the concerns you mentioned. The flood you describe did happen more than two years ago as a result of city drained being clogged. The problem was taken care of as swiftly and efficiently as possible and currently, there are no mold issues. Regarding any pest issues, Living Well Homes offers free pest control and residents are encouraged to alert their Community Manager if they suspect a problem, so it can be contained and eliminated. Regarding the dumpsters and any other maintenance/upkeep concerns, we urge residents to report these to the Community Manager, either in person, by phone, email or website for at www.livingwellhomes.com. Thank you again for reaching out and I'll make sure that your on-site team get a copy of your review. Andee S. Reputation Team, Living Well Homes
I've lived here for almost a year now, and it's been a great place. Noise: The walls separating the units are block and the floor is concrete, and such there's very little, if any noise from your neighbors. When I moved in they were still remodeling the units and heard a little noise when they were remodeling the kitchens of the adjacent units. The only noise you'll hear is from the front of the unit, which is floor to ceiling windows facing the pool, nice view and not at all loud. Build Quality: I was the first person to live in my unit after the remodel. They did a great job. It looks like is should be in a swanky Scottsdale neighborhood. The accent colors on the exterior complex are a great mix of slate grey and a mint green and look great against the off white background. Inside, you'll find large, long grey tile in a brick pattern, very high ceilings to the loft master bedroom, which is great because it shares the light from the front windows while maintaining privacy. The kitchen has newer appliances, cabinets and countertops and has a stainless steel option (at a monthly charge, and not at all worth it IMO). Bathrooms: There are 2 bathrooms, both feature the same tile as the rest of the unit and new fixtures. They are bright and cleanly laid out and have modern, minimalist fixtures. Bedrooms: The master is in the loft and has it's own bathroom, and a spacious walking closet. The lower bedroom is also large for an apartment, and has a full wall of closets with shelves on one side. Both are carpeted, which is nice and beige. Utilities are included, Water, Electric an the AC and Heater function well. However, at the change of season, when they change the system over from heat to AC and AC to heat, there was a week where the temperature was not quite right. I understand it is a common problem with having a complex wide HVAC system, but it was uncomfortable none the less and worthy of noting. Pool and fitness area: The pool area is clean, nice and has a few gazebos and a large covered area with a huge sectional outdoor couch. The pool area is huge and is the main focal point once inside the complex. There is also a fitness center which is not bad by apartment standards, Elliptical, recumbent bike, and treadmill along with a small assortment of dumbbells. It's small but gets the job done. Management: They are quick to address issues and very helpful. They will accept packages as well. Great Place!!!
