Property Ratings at Portsmouth Apartments
Been here since 2021, so I’ve signed 2 lease renewals. I will not be signing a third. I don’t have many complaints beside maintenance taking up to 3 weeks to fix simple problems, and the fact that rent goes up every renewal. Those are big issues for me. So I will be finding somewhere else to live in August.

We're truly sorry to hear about the issues you've faced with maintenance and the rent increases. We understand how these can be significant concerns and we aim for better. Would love a chance to discuss your feedback further to improve our services in the future.
Pros: 1) Management has been good with communicating and are helpful with responding to tenants concerns. 2) Safe community, nice area. Cons: 1) I can’t believe how insanely creaky the floors are. I wish I could post a video of how loud it is. My sleep has been awful, my neighbor above me just simply walking, wakes me out of a dead sleep several times a night. Even when I’m sitting in my living room, the walls shake. The walls are so thin. This reason alone makes me look forward to my lease ending. 2) My apartment has smelled like cigarettes and weed numerous times from neighboring tenants. I’ve even had to scrub the walls to remove nicotine stains from previous tenants. 3) My bedroom was consistently freezing throughout the winter, I had to pile on blankets and crank the heat up just to have it at a decent temperature. 4) I wish there were ceiling fans.

Don’t even waste your time looking at this place. Our laundry doors have fallen 15 times and they never fix them. The windows aren’t sealed so snow and dirt are always inside. It’s always cold in the winter because they are so old. Management doesn’t respond care or repairs anything. Even the carpets aren’t connected. They hired someone to shop always the wild birds we would rather they shop away the management. Not worth a penny- I would stay here is THEY paid me!

This place is great for a year then the rent increases after your lease is up to stay here. My Fiancé and I liked living here. I would recommend it to people. Fair warning some of the other tenants are not super nice and will yell at you in the parking lot because they think you're following them even though you just happen to live in the same building and take the same way home.

Thank you for taking the time to recommend our community. We are glad you enjoyed your experience, although we are sorry to hear that any interactions with fellow residents were less than ideal. Please feel free to call or visit our office if you would ever like to discuss your feedback further. We wish you well!
Me and my wife have lived here on an off the last few years for the simple fact that it’s the only half decent apartment complex in the area which roughly means they have a washer and dryer in unit. That being said, when you call up and the machine says “Portsmouth, we’re a part of your life” it’s almost like saying “because you don’t have any better options” insanely high rent that seems to jump year after year with no improvements. Fitness center? Nope. Playground for your kids? Nope. Apartments that haven’t been updated since 1980? Absolutely. To top it off if you ever have the displeasure of talking to one of the office women (shobian?)who’s whole job is customer service, don’t worry she’s likely to talk down to you, disregard your request and hang up on you mid sentence, wow what amazing customer service skills. Literally fined anywhere else to live, they don’t care about you or your family.

This was my very first apartment on my own. The staff were all very helpful and kind. I never had a problem with the washer and dryer the entire year which is always nice. 10/10 would recommend!

The water has been shut off frequently in the past 3 months (May-July 20th 2020). May had 3 days it was shut off, June had 5 times it was shut off, and July so far has had 2 occurrences. This is only for my building, but it is shut off AT LEAST once monthly since I have lived here (5 years). Maintenance is slow to respond as well. If you are okay with having no water on a frequent basis, come live here.

If you are having maintenance concerns, please give our office a call to discuss in further detail. Thank you!
I moved here in January. I love it. Any maintenance issue I had was answered and resolved in two days. The only thing I would recommend is that they tidy up the stairs and throw a fresh coat of paint on the doors and railings. Other than that, I’m happy with my first apartment. I thought the well water would be an issue but it’s not. It’s slightly yellow sometimes in the morning but I just let it run for about a minute and it’s back clear. I always recommend Portsmouth to my family and friends.

If I could give a zero i would. My apartment flooded january 2019 due to a maintenance worker leaving a window open in the maintence room right outside of my apartment on the first floor. I got missed calls like crazy 8 am Monday morning at work from the manager saying an emergency happened to to rush home. First thing she asks is if i had renters insurance (like an idiot) i did not. She starts reprimanding me in a time of despair and scolding me for not having it (they do not require it). I got home to find my entire apartment in shambles, water up to my ankles and the electricity still flowing. There were random people just all in my stuff and everything i had was ruined. The apartment workers we heard talking about leaving the window open as we were walking to and from my car salvaging anything we could. The manager finally arrives about 2 hours later to tell me “they were terminating my lease due to it being deemed unliveable and they were going to either let me find my own place to live for no “extra charge on the lease agreement” or I could PAY EXTRA for a 2 bedroom apartment in another building. PAY EXTRA YOU HEARD IT RIGHT. This whole experience was a joke. Management was a joke. 3 to 4 people got put out in this time and management had no feelings of anguish in it at all. The experience was traumatizing. Did I mention it was below zero during the entire time? STAY AWAY

Lexa - We received this review and others regarding a pipe bursting in your apartment twelve months ago at the beginning of 2019. We're sorry that your apartment was one of the ones affected by the pipe burst and offered you to transfer to a larger apartment, but could not rent it to you at the 1-bedroom rate you were currently paying. Stating that our team 'had no feelings of anguish' is untrue and we wish that you were able to see that this pipe burst was beyond our control and we did the best we could to remedy the situation.
They warn you when signing the lease about well water. It’s a little yellow no big deal and not noticeable. I was really happy here for my first couple months. Lovely staff, lovely property, the cost for the apartment was nice. Other reviews mention they mess with the water a lot, and they do.. really wasn’t annoyed by it since the price is so good you overlook small things. Then we’ve been under a water boil for over a week. They currently have no idea when the water boil will be off. So yes I’m annoyed that I have to use bottled water to wash my hands, dishes, etc because of coliform bacteria being detected in The apartment’s personal water source. So please dig deeper into the water issues at this community. Or you’ll end up like me having to pay $800 to move out because all you want is clean water.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. We’re so sorry to hear that your time here at Portsmouth hasn’t been positive; that’s not at all what we hope to hear! Our team works hard to try and make sure each resident can happily call Portsmouth their home, but is always open to hearing more about how we can improve. If possible, would you be able to stop by the office to discuss with our team in person? Or, perhaps calling our office to directly talk with management? I just took a tour with James and he was absolutely amazing!!!! He was super knowledgeable about the complex and very friendly. I will be moving in very soon and I’m super excited. Thank you so much for making this process super easy James!!!

I went into the office on July 13 2019 and I spoke with Jerisha. She's very accommodating and assisted me with all questions that I had. I ended up accepting another apartment, and Jerisha gave me all the details that I needed in case I was interested in staying with Portsmouth in the future. She was excellent friendly and accommodating. From the lady with the purse??

I lived @ Portsmouth for almost 4 years. The experience was pretty good. Loved the pond view, maintenance staff was friendly. Big shout out to Jeriesha one of the leasing agents there. She gets the job done. If you have any issues and you speak with Jeriesha best believe it will get taken care of. I've had a few hiccups with maintenance not coming out at a timely manner, spoke to her and they came out the next day. She's very friendly and professional. Gives exceptional customer service with a smile on her face. (Whether be it in person or via phone you can tell she's smiling). You have an exceptional staff member Edwardrose/Portsmouth. I must say the entire office Staff is pretty good, except for one. I wont say her name but if you call and speak with her you'll know :/ Overall great location, very quiet, pretty central to most freeways, twelve oaks mall, Emagine theatre and other spots to hang out and enjoy. The only down fall I can think of is most times the water becomes extremely reddish-brown to the point if you're doing laundry it messes up your clothes, especially whites.

I have been living here a few months and up until now things have been okay (loud neighbors aside). I recently had to call maintenance to fix an appliance in my unit and its been 3 weeks and multiple complaints later that I'm just now getting results. I am not satisfied with my service and the length of time it took to get any action. I would definitely NOT recommend this apartment to anyone.
Nice community, I moved in during the summer and the property was well kept. The office staff is friendly as well.

I walked in to get some information about leasing an apartment here. There were 4 office people sitting at their computers and they all ignored me for what seemed like forever. I had to walk up to the counter and ask for someone to assist me. They seemed annoyed that I was there. I would never lease here! Even the Manager walked right by me and did not say 1 word to me. YIKES!

i am currently staying here in building# 8, first floor. AVOID FIRST FLOOR APARTMENTS. Apart from a lake view (1 star), nothing is good here, specially maintenance services. recently there was a leakage in my bedroom wall in two of the corners, one outside and other inside in closet. Submitted two requests online, one by myself and one office did because i called. Its been 3 weeks and still it not fixed completely. See pictures attached. And i have already received email that problem was fixed. Also in past, i have put a maintenance request for only getting lukewarm water in shower, n still its same responding its been resolved. Everything else like view, neighbors, premises is okay but i am paying for my apartments and maintenance services AND THAT'S NOT OK AT ALL. If you have to relocate due to personal reasons, at least DO NOT MOVE IN TO FIRST FLOOR APARTMENTS.

After looking at so many apartments-Portsmouth won hands down. Working with Victoria from my initial visit, through the leasing process, to moving in, was an absolute pleasure and outstanding experience with her. Everyone in the office is also willing to help you, including the maintenance men. Been here 2 months and I must say I hear minimal noise from neighbors -after all it is an apartment. Very quiet and well maintained complex-love the ponds, gas stove and W/D in unit. They do have well water, but it doesn’t feel like well water does. It tends to be brownish some mornings but it’s from the night maintenance process. Very pleased with overall experience, size of apartment and area location - would, and have recommended Portsmouth.

We're so thankful for your 5-star review of our community! We're glad to have you as part of the Portsmouth community!
It is a great location and nice apartments, but don't expect them to give you your security deposit back. Be extremely through when recording what is and is not wrong with the apartment, as they will squeeze you for every penny they can. I also found it is easier to fix things yourself then it is to call maintenance. Our front door handle was broken for 6 months, and I put in at least 5-6 maintenance requests to fix it, even having to stop by the front desk to try to get them to actually fix the problem, even though it was a clear security issue. They also do not notify you if they have been in your apartment to fix anything, which was a major concern of mine. In other words, this place is great as long as the apartment you are given has nothing wrong with it, and if you are okay with losing a security deposit. (I lost my security deposit over a small stain on the counter, something that the previous resident had left as a parting gift).
Property Manager at Portsmouth Apartments, Responded To This Review
Without a name attached to the review, we are unable to look up specifics regarding your concerns - however - we'd like to note that a small stain on the counter would not take the whole security deposit to remedy. This stain should have also been noted on your move-in checklist if, in fact, it was left by the previous resident. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact our Past Resident Department at 248.686.5300.
I've lived at Portsmouth for about a year. I've had a great time during my stay and haven't had any issues. Maintenance requests have been handled in a timely manner, the apartment has ample space and nice views of the ponds that dot the area. The staff has also been great. I've worked mainly with Rebecca throughout the moving in process and she has made it a much less stressful process. I've only had problems with the water twice during my stay here, but it is well water and they did inform me of this when moving in. I simply run the water for a few minutes and the issue goes away. The location is perfect, there is a gym located right near the complex as well as a Kroger almost directly across the street. Overall, I definitely recommend Portsmouth to anyone looking for a place to make their home for a year or even many.

I moved to MI to start a career and rented with Portsmouth due to its closeness to work. Before moving I was considering Stone Ridge, The Village, Portsmouth, and The Springs (all Edward Rose properties and all in the immediate area). While the rent is higher at Portsmouth I felt like more was had for the rent. A single bedroom apartment was comparatively larger, there was laundry in the units, and there is no water or gas bill; only electric. The water is their own well and occasionally the water system had issues. For reviews saying they don't tell you that it's well water, that's a lie; it's in the paperwork when you sign up as well as the latest copy of the water reports which are posted. They also provide notifications for if/when work will be performed and the water will be shut off. I never had a surprise water shut off. I always found the office staff to be wonderful and helpful when I needed it. I had a lot of questions as this was my first apartment and they took time to answer them as needed. I recently bought a house which is why I left Portsmouth but I would strongly recommend renting there if in the market for an apartment.

Love the apartments! The location is perfect, close to I-96 and M-5. There is a Kroger right down the road. 12 Oak Mall is like a ten minute drive away. Rebecca, my leasing agent was so helpful answering all my questions. Really loved that all the apartments have a view of the ponds and have a washer dryer in the apartment. Can't wait to use the pool at the club house!

I lived here at Portsmouth Apartments between July, 2016 to March 2018. I really enjoyed my stay here. Very friendly leasing staff and prompt maintenance. I cannot remember having any complaint during my stay here. They have a nice club house with a swimming pool that is full of life in the summer. I only wish I could have stayed there longer as it was my sweet home for a good 20 months. I wouldn't have left if not for the change in employment. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good place to call home. Quite place for the most part except for the occasional sound cause by movements in the apartment above.

I am not renewing my lease because everything has been underwhelming. Here is the mistake I made when viewing my apartment I smelled a slight cigarette smell I assumed it was the previous tenents I was wrong below me are the chainsmoking couple who make my apartment clothes and everything stink. Do not take an apartment that has any smoke smell to it. Management doesn’t care and even when I asked them to warn the next tenant they said it was against the law to do so very dumb. The snow removal is a joke and terrible they don’t show up until 2 days after a storm and do a terrible job. They love to send you emails and get in your apartment for checks and what not all the time it gets old. The apartment itself is ok but it really isn’t that nice walls crack easily things breakdown water still sucks. Enjoy the summer of goose poop all over the place it’s a fun game to try and avoid it wherever you step. The people around you don’t respect quiet and are often loud in parking lots late at night. The management is a bit smug and don’t really care much about you. If you have to live here because of the cheaper price with Laundry just be ready to get what you pay for. I’ve lived in many apartments easily the worst experience.

Thank you for the online review. We appreciate all feedback. I am sorry to hear you were not happy with your apartment. Portsmouth is not a smoke free community. Residents are allowed to smoke in their apartments, but not in any common areas. We did have a very rough year with the snow removal this year. The contractor we hired in the beginning of the season was unable to keep up with the amount of snow we received. We did hire a new contractor for this last snow fall and the removal went much better. We only enter apartments twice a year to do preventative maintenance unless there is an emergency or residents puts in a service request. I am sorry if you got the impression management did not care because that is certainly not the case. I am the property manager and am always open to discuss with residents any issues they may have. If you would like to call me to talk about any issue you still have please give me a call anytime. Carla Janes – Property Manager 248-669-5490
Just renewed my lease. I have rented for more than 7 years now and Portsmouth has been one of the better experiences so far. Only the 2nd time in my renting experience that I have renewed my lease. So that tells quite a bit about my feedback. Decent apartment size, wonderful patio views - pond/lake view, only one utility to pay for i.e. DTE (electric), in-house washer/dryer, flame gas stove are some of the positives. Only negative (not a real negative though) would be the water supply, Portsmouth has its own well of water supply. Water shut down notices have come twice in a year so far, so had to adjust my schedule around it a couple of times. Water is heavy with chemicals, so I use a water filter/purifier for drinking and cooking. Early on it was a bit tough to adjust but now its a part of my routine, so no qualms about it too. Neighbors are decently quiet, facilities respond pretty well to repairs, office staff is helpful as well. Overall, good place to rent!

Portsmouth Apartments has been my home in the Novi/Wixom area for many years and it has been a good place to live during my current residency in this area. This apartment community offers a level of luxury that I have really appreciated over the years (e.g., washer and dryer in the apartments, the heat bill being covered by the property, and having a pond view from the patio/doorwall which faces behind the building). Also it is situated in a lucrative spot with grocery stores, restaurants, parks, local malls, and many other goods and services very close to where you live which is definitely convenient.

Dear resident, Thank you so much for your review!!
This is this worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. The appearance is nice from the outside and inside, but after about a week of living there I couldn’t wait for my lease to be up. The leasing office has no communication, I was called several times saying they don’t have a copy of my key and they need me to stop by so they can make a copy. Also was called a few times about my “green sheet” (for prior damages) needing to be completed after I already turned it in. When we first moved in Mindy, that works in the leasing office who showed us our place said “wow I can’t believe they didn’t replace your carpet” yet we were charged for it when we moved out. We only got half our deposit back because of carpet that should of been replaced before we even moved in, due to it being in horrible shape. Our water was my biggest complaint. I have several pictures of our water in the toilet and sinks where it literally looks like urine. When you call and complain they do literally nothing and just tell you to run the bathtub for 15 minutes (which doesn’t fix the problem because it’s just bad water) they continuously shut the water off and only tell you half the time when it’s going to be shut off. I came home from work several times and the water is mud brown. My clothes would feel awful after doing my laundry and I refused to cook or brush my teeth with it. When you pay rent THEY CHARGE YOU A SERVICE FEE! Absolutely ridiculous since they already charge way to much for rent. There was very limited parking. Almost everyday I had to park at other buildings due to all the “assigned parking” that you have to pay extra for. In the coldest part of winter our heat went out 3 times. The maintenance guy who fixed it finally told me it was because the furnace was extremely dirty and needed to be cleaned, which if you look at the list of the “route maintenance” that they claim they do, that should be done regularly which it clearly wasn’t. Also when they enter your apartment they don’t leave anything indicating what was done and if anything was fixed. I know they don’t have control over this because of all the ponds, but the amount of goose Poop is INSANE!

I enjoy living at Portsmouth. You can't beat the utilities and washer/dryer included. I am a dog owner so I also love how pet friendly the property is. They even recently had an event where you can bring your kids and pets to take pics with Santa at the clubhouse lol. I would recommend living here!

had to move for work but loved living here. nice complex quiet an pretty. the office staff and maintenance people are great. any time I needed anything they where right on top of it. contrary to what others have said there is full disclosures about the well water. if that is the only negative thing about this place well then anyone would be happy living here. lastly for the area the apartments are priced very reasonably.

Love it here. Only downsides are: water is softened well water so it taste a little strange and it's a little over priced. They're moving my rent us $40 a month after my 1st year lease is up. Plus sides are the buildings are nice and kept up well, staff is amazing and location is great!

I live in Portsmouth now. Some highlights: there is almost never hot water. They don't tell you that the water is well water. Such high iron content that your white clothes come out of the washer brown. AC units undersized. My AC runs continuously but the temp in the apartment never reaches 73. Electric bill jumped from $35 to $150 because the AC runs continuously. Dont' bother calling maintenance, they do not answer or respond. I am gone when my lease is up. Don't not rent here.

We are sorry to hear about your experience at Portsmouth Apartments. We do have well water in our community. Information about the well water along with the most recent water quality test is provided in residents move in packet, and we use a water softener system to remove the minerals from our water. Portsmouth takes the responsibility of providing water to the community seriously and works with an independent laboratory to monitor the quality. We strive to provide the highest level of customer service and attend to all maintenance requests within 24-48 hours. The AC units are the appropriate size for the apartments; all units are inspected by a certified HVAC specialist. Apartments located on the 3rd floor tend to be hotter due to the cathedral ceilings and the sun coming in the large, highly desirable accent windows. This can cause the AC to run longer on very hot days. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns personally so we have the opportunity to address and specific issues you are currently experiencing. I can be reached at 248-669-5490. POSITIVES: Staff is very nice and got my work processed quickly. Closely located to the 96 ramps and Fountainwalk / 12 Oaks. Amazing view off the balcony in every unit. Negatives: Noise. I know not every unit will be like this, but I'm tired of constantly hearing my neighbors scream at each other and fight at all hours. Also, due to the amount of lakes here there are a tremendous amount of geese. They are super loud and make noise all night during the summer. These units also seem to have a bug problem. During the summer, I couldn't open my windows due to the size and quantity of bugs that would make it in. I couldn't even use my porch because it was covered in spiders that were about as big (just the body) as a quarter. RAID won't help you. Verdict: Not worth the price.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how you feel about Portsmouth Apartments. I am glad that the first positive aspect mentioned was our staff. They have a lot of pride in their work and enjoy making residents happy. They understand that this is your home and want you to feel comfortable in it. You and many others recognize our property’s great location. Being close to a great shopping center like 12 Oaks Mall and having access to all parts of metro Detroit by being near a major highway are two great benefits of living here. We balance that with a “country-like” atmosphere at Portsmouth. As you know, each of one of our apartments overlooks a pond and the property is surrounded by trees. Although the wildlife that is attracted to our ponds can be noisy or can create a mess at times, many of our residents overlook that and enjoy seeing the animals from their windows. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts about Portsmouth. We value your opinion and the suggestions you may have. My staff or I would be happy to speak with you concerning any specific issues or questions you may have. You can always reach us directly at (248)669-5490. -Bruce, Property Manager, Portsmouth Apartments
Only one major complaint (noize), otherwise fairly good apartments in general. There is an issue with rent that keeps going up. Was going to be over $900 (up from $840) next year if I stayed. Mostly only moving out because I got a job in another city. For Specifics: Noize: The walls and windows feel like they are paper thin. Constantly hear the neighbors kids (above and to the sides) crying or talking through the walls. Neighbors on cellphones in their bedroom I can hear in my bedroom. I bought a white noise generator a few months ago and it mostly helps. Still, I always know when the neighbor uses the shower or laundry. Grounds: Not much to say here. Nice enough. Snow removal is usually prompt. Grass gets cut once per week. Only issue is the Canadian Geese that are around year long. Impossible to walk 5 feet without stepping in goose droppings. Safety: Never had any issues with crime. Parking lots are well lit all year long. Neighborhood: This does not affect me at all. There is a school just down a little ways but that is all I know. Maintenance: Never had any big delays when I needed something fixed. AC got fixed in 24hrs when it went out. They do general checks every ~6 months. Staff: No real issues. Only needed to contact them when renewing lease or getting packages. Only taking 1 star off because I wish they would notify me when they planed to turn water off to fix something. Woke up more times than I would like not being able to take a shower.

Portsmouth apartments are home. Groups of 3 story buildings with a pond in the center of each group. Third floor apartments have cathedral ceilings with a beautiful half moon window above the patio door. In unit washer/dryer and heat included. Service calls are usually answered quickly and efficiently. There are only 2 reasons I didn't give it 5 stars: Not enough storage space for 3 adults and the snow removal left much to be desired last winter. We have lived here 4 years and have enjoyed the area.

After 25 years in a large 9 room home it was time to move on. wow, everything I needed was here In a 2 bedroom apartment great views from my living room, a pond outside my door with ducks floating by. A smaller kitchen with everything new and clean, and since cooking is not my hobby there is plenty of counter and cupboard space. An attached laundry room with a washer and dryer and plenty of room. This is a great apartment at anyone's age, but for me this place is great.
Portsmouth Apartments in Novi is a great place to live. You are less than a ten minute drive from shopping at the 12 oaks mall or sitting on Walled Lake for a relaxing dinner by the water. Everyone has been extremely helpful in the office and maintenance crew. Whether you are just moving to th area, or looking for a great place to begin a family, this complex is an excellent choice!
I have been a resident at Portsmouth Apartments for over five years. Before I moved in, I had read reviews of the community and they were not all good. I liked the look of the community, so I decided to move in despite the reviews about the excessive silver fish and smelly pond. Now that I have been here a while, I can provide a review of this community. The GOOD: Overall, the community is decent. I do not have problems with noise. I can occasionally hear the outside door closing to the next door apartment, but other than that, I don't hear much from neighbors. Maintenance has been pretty responsive to problems. One time, my A/C was out and it was very hot and I was very uncomfortable in my apartment. When I called for a service request, I was told that it would take up to five days for someone to come out. I contacted the maintenance manager and left a voicemail message and someone came out the same day to repair the problem. I was very pleased with the quick response. The heat is included in the rent, which is a savings because I don't have an added heating bill. Some apartments say that heat is included, but the tenant cannot control it. The heat and central air are controlled by the tenant in this community and I am very pleased with this feature. The office staff members are pleasant. The BAD: I do see some silver fish occasionally, but not the excessive amount that I had read about before I moved here. The apartment community will come in to spray your apartment for bugs upon request. There is some moss or something on top of the pond sometimes, but I have not noticed any smells from the pond. I absolutely hate the water here. It is well water. I do not drink it. It turns the shower walls and toilets orange and the water has to be treated. The pole placement in the carport is tight, so it makes parking a challenge at times. I have scratched my car on the pole. I live in a third floor apartment with the high ceiling, which I love, but there is a crack in one area that I have had repaired several times, but it always seems to come back. One of the maintenance staff painted the living room after a ceiling repair and did not do a good job. I can see the streaks on the wall where she just rolled over areas without any sort of a plan. I cannot think of any other complaints that I would have about this community. Overall, I am pleased with the apartment and the services. I would recommend this community to potential renters.
My apartment is beautiful and I enjoy living here. The location is great and convenient to most things. The downside is deal with the personnel in the leasing office. There is constant turnover and the personnel react like it's their first time getting a call. The maintenance staff is also not allowed in my apartment without me being present. They have damaged personal items and left areas of my apartment a mess after making repairs. I reported this to the leasing office and after escalating to management, the situation was rectified.
This is the best apartment that I have ever livid in. I like the view and the fact that each building has its own pond . Water and heat its included in the rent witch is a plus .

Excellent Apartment complex, I have lived here for a year and a half. I would highly recommend this to other seekers of apartments. Cons: 1.) In my location, if you get back to your apartment late at night, good luck finding a parking spot close. I wouldn't say you have to park a 1/2 mile away, but maybe the next apartment complex over. 2.) Bottom floor apartment is not the best if there are kids or noisy neighbors above you. You can't choose your neighbors, but we got lucky that it was only for a brief moment of time. 3.) Price. You get what you pay for, and you may have to pay a lot. It's within reason, but just be forewarned it does go up in price each time you renew your lease. Pros: SO MANY! 1.) Locked mailboxes. 2.) View 3.) Carports (reasonable price too!) 4.) Pool 5.) Quiet! Great place if you're a light sleeper. 6.) Maintenance, I never had a real maintenance problem that I can recall that they didn't fix immediately. The grounds are well taken care of. 7.) In house laundry 8.) Great Staff! 9.) Well lit at night and fantastic neighbors! ... and the list goes on. The only reason I'm leaving this place is that it's too long of a drive to work for me. I will surely miss the place, but it was great while I was there.

The automotive business has been growing and job opportunity have been on the increase in the last few years. Portsmouth Apartments is the perfect apartment for those who are transitioning from college or into a new job in the Metro Detroit area not only because of the reasonable rent but also because of other additional benefits. The apartment comes with a lot of amenities. Each apartment comes with a washer and dryer combination, dishwasher, a view of a pond and there are a lot of parking spots with the additional option of a car port. More importantly, the rent includes water and heating. Not having to worry about paying the heating bill especially during the colder seasons makes this ideal in Michigan. Residents also can use the clubhouse for events such as birthday parties and even have a quick swim in the pool during the hotter seasons. Portsmouth is in a very idea location, located in Novi, it boarders Wixom, Commerce Charter Town and is a few minutes away from I-96, I-696 and I-275 making it idea location for people who work in any of those locations or require access to the freeway. It is also walking distance to the closest grocery store, pharmacy and gym. It is a few minute drive to the closest mall and endless option of restaurants. Portsmouth not only has ideal rent but goes beyond and provides a excellent environment to call your home.
have been living at the Portsmouth Apartments in Novi since 2011, and still absolutely love it here. Besides living within walking distance of the mini down town area, where you can sun bath at the the beach, go paddle boarding, get Ice cream or a number of other summer fun activities, the apartments themselves are spacious, well build and wonderfully managed. The floorplan at it's base is put together just perfect for those who don't want to do much decorating and for those who want to really customize their space. The maintenance staff takes great care of the property and my home when needed and without delay. Living so close to the lake and parks is the best, and being in an area like Novi where I can also find anything I need without having to go out of my way to find it, and feeling safe as I peruse around the town or the beach, or the wonderful waterfront walking park is also a huge plus.
