Property Ratings at Potomac Garden Apartments
They are literally infested with rats. You will hear them in the walls from the 1st to the 4th floor. They also get loose in your apartment and poop everywhere. Do not ask about the pest control problem because they will blatantly lie to your face then make up things when you inform them if the problem. Just don't set yourself up for failure moving here
Property Manager at Potomac Garden Apartments, Responded To This Review
We take reports of pest seriously and have professional services in place to combat this issue. Thank you for your honest feedback to further improve the residents experience for all who call us home.
The roaches were bad enough, but I could take care of those. The space is really small and you're overpaying because of the location. The parking stinks, because there are no visitor spots available if someone wants to visit, and you have to park at the 7-eleven a 6-minute walk away. Finally, the front-office lady is really rude. She told us to buy a house since we accidentally left a box outside the dumpster, while charging 75 dollars just for that box (not heavy at all since empty), and she basically said it's our time to go, despite us paying for everything on-time. Overall, I would say the place needs to be torn down completely, because it looks bad and the service is worse. The only positive is that I'm leaving this rat-hole to get a house.
Property Manager at Potomac Garden Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are deeply discouraged by this characterization of our community. We strive to provide exceptional service and a five-star home life to all our valued residents. We have done our best to work with you throughout your time here and are sorry this situation did not turn out more favorably. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
The people who work in the rental office are amazing! They are very good at remembering tenants on sight, and try very hard to resolve any issues. The apartments themselves are old. Don't expect perfection. Also, make sure that you ask them to send pest control in before you move in, to avoid future problems. Smoke alarms are sensitive, they go off almost all the time when cooking, and the leasing agent will tell you that before you move in. Parking is limited, so not very good for having more than one car or visitors. The apartments are close to shopping and two bus lines and is in a pretty nice area. However, outside the complex sidewalks are scarce. The on site pool is nice in the summer, and they are really good about snow removal. Maintenance crew is good about keeping the interior of the buildings clean, and are good about responding to issues quickly.
Good apartment for the price that you pay. We have lived here for a few years and not had any major issues. Parking can be a little tough at times, but overall it has been a nice experience for us. Very convenient to have a school right across the street from us. There is also a tunnel leading to the school so the kids don't have to cross traffic.
