San Antonio’s Northwest Side is an upscale neighborhood with a distinctly suburban feel. The neighborhood is largely residential, offering an array of apartments, houses, and condos available for rent along tree-lined avenues.
The Northwest Side also boasts plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation at destinations such as OP Schnabel Park and Bamberger Nature Park. Superb shopping options abound at the Shops at La Cantera, the Rim, Bandera Pointe, and numerous convenient strip malls strewn throughout the community.
Major employers like the University of Texas at San Antonio, USAA Corporate Offices, and the Medical District are all located on the Northwest Side, affording many residents short commute times. Downtown San Antonio is also just a short drive away via Interstate 10. Renowned attractions like the San Antonio Aquarium and Six Flags Fiesta Texas are convenient to the neighborhood as well.

Property Ratings at Prado
Don’t move here. Bad management, bad tenets, dirty hallways, trash everywhere, no wifi ever. So many better options.
During my stay at Prado for a period of a year and a half, I had a lot of issues with management. First, their maintenance crew is a mess. They are completely careless and would go into my unit for routine inspections or work orders and leave absolutely everything on (lights, vents, ac, etc). They would also leave lights and vents on in empty unis which is a problem since I had no way of knowing that they were on and my electricity bills would go up by a lot because of them. I had to struggle with this multiple times and management would not recognize their fault until after weeks of arguing with them. Second, their hallways are very dirty. You can see all kinds of things: open trash bags, dog’s poop, vomit, etc. They do not clean their hallways as often as they should and the smell is really bad at times. Third, even if you ask for a certain roommate preference, they will assign you whoever they want. I literally got roommates who where complete opposites and who I had arguments with. I advise you to leave with a friend if you decide to leave in Prado. Fourth, the move out charges are absolutely ridiculous. This is not only me who is complaining. As you could see from the reviews, pretty much every single resident complains about the move-out charges. I left my room in great conditions and they charge me for charges that were not even mine. I had to pay for almost $400. At the end of the day, it is their word against yours. I would honestly advise you to research all the student living complexes before you decide to move to Prado. I am sure there have to be better options.

We are very sorry for the unfortunate circumstances you'd experienced while living at Prado, Jorge. We do want to thank you for detailing what you'd like to see done at our complex, translating the message to our team, and allowing us the space to make things right. If our bookkeeper can be of any further assistance to you, please let her know. Thank you again for your review.
If you enjoy a quiet night’s sleep, do not move in here. It’s right across the street from the Block which plays LOUD music until 1-2am with an annoying DJ 6 out of 7 days of the week (closed on Monday). As for the apartment itself, it’s about average. The hallways are dirty and usually covered in animal waste and trash bags. There are so many other better options to live at near campus, keep looking elsewhere.

We are truly sorry to hear this has been your experience thus far at Prado. We do have noise ordinances to help with noise levels in the community, but our hands are unfortunately tied when it comes to noise surrounding the complex. We would encourage you to reach out to SAPD should noise levels at that hour become too loud. For hallways messes, we'd be happy to come by and clean this for you whenever you spot something - just give our office a call and we'll make it happen. Thank you for your Prado insight.
Absolutely terrible apartment complex. I was visiting from out of state to take a tour of this complex to rent as I am moving down later in the year. The staff was incredibly rude and acted like they didn't want me there. The hallways were incredibly dirty, filled with random debris and funky odors. On top of everything in my short visit to the complex, which lasted just over an hour, they towed my car. It cost me over 300$ to get my car out of impound from their extremely sketchy towing service, and then management wouldn't even return my calls after wrongfully towing my car. Place should be shut down for bad practice and health violations.

Thank you for commenting on your recent experience with Prado Student Living, Samuel. We approached your comments very carefully, as our manager Miranda nor any of our staff/managers recognize your name or this incident, particularly concerning the towing. As a policy at Prado, if a touring guest had their vehicle towed (since towing is heavily enforced), we would have had the car released and brought back to the property free of charge. No prospective residents have had mentioned their cars being towed throughout the month of October. We would highly encourage you to reach out to our manager Miranda at 210-853-0001 about this specific instance so we can discuss next steps for your towing complications. Thank you, Sam; we apologize for the inconvenience.
