Property Ratings at Prairie Pointe
I lived in this place for 5 years and have to say this place is awesome. The staff are rock stars, (especially Stephanie) the maintenance workers were extremely professional and always timely. From the clubhouse, to the in unit washer and dryer, to the gym, and lastly to the pool I already miss this place. If you need a place to live this is the place!
I’ve lived her for several years. I have been very satisfied with management. Angie is the best. Very quiet and clean. I would recommend renting from here.
I live here about 10 years ago and never thought I would be back. I heard they were remodeling and under new ownership so I thought why not take a look. WOW I LOVE what they have done with the new apartments! After shopping around this was the last place I saw and wish I would have saved some time and come here first. I got a garage which is big enough for my car and some storage. They have FULL size washer and dryer in unit and I got a 5 burner gas stove (not sure everyone gets 5...shhhhh) and a dishwasher which they never had. The office staff was also very kind and helped make things smooth (plus I got to meet Bubba which is the manager Laurens adorable puppy that lives here too). Long story kind of short, definitely make the stop by and don't believe everything that was "wessel court" they have done a great job updating everything!
We moved here for work; my fiance takes the metra to the city. The parking lot fills up fast, which is the only downside on like Friday night. We transferred into a remodeled unit which was way nicer than the old one. I wish we could have a grille on the balcony, but my fiance makes pottery out back during the summer, so it's a great outdoor space. I love the hardwood floors and having a new gas range for cooking like Blue Apron is a lot of fun, plus the new dishwasher so I'm not scrubbing dishes after dinner. Fitness room is on the small side but there's no lines like at the gym and the pool is a plus during the summer. Maintenance gets stuff done and the office is helpful with questions about rent and fees, I like getting treated like a human being!
word of advice. If the particular unit you want is occupied by another resident still, but is up for lease, you can still see the unit. They will tell you that you cannot see the apartment since someone is living there still--this is a lie. Also, the moment you sign the lease, though this is required to "hold the unit", this locks you into the lease. You cannot get out of it at this point, so be sure that you are sure. Ask a TON of questions and get everything in writing because there is a lot of he said she said. If there is a maintenance issue, expect it to be resolved weeks later. Power goes out randomly in whole building. We called landlord and were told "call city of st. charles and tell us what they say." if you come home after ten on any given night of the week, expect to find no open parking spots. we typically park a block away. there are cobwebs on the stair cases. Two units near us have flooded before. And smoking is allowed so if you like your patio door open but don't like smokers, be aware. Also, very thin walls. We can hear our neighbors pee, fight, cook, watch tv, etc. I even had a neighbor ask me about my husband and I's conversation one day, because they could hear it that clearly. I will say units are nice looking but the cost is not worth the experience. Also, now that its warming up, keep encountering black spiders. Didn't have this issue with units i've lived in in the past as I keep my place very clean. move here with caution.
I've lived here for 4 years in a two bedroom. The units are nicely laid out offering lots of options for your style of décor, with a decent amount of storage space. There's also on site storage units, and mine has been free of flooding and critters so far. These are not luxury units, so be prepared to hand wash dishes and expertly time your laundry around your neighbors habits. They make up for it by including gas and water in rent. Pets are allowed which is awesome, and must tenants are considerate about cleanup. Parking has been an issue in past winters, since the overflow lot is across the street, but not an issue in the warmer months. No crime (that im aware of) and a few fun things on the premises (i.e. playgrounds, pool, yard space) Overall, you get some inconvenience, with just enough perks to make it a mostly awesome place to live.
