Property Ratings at Prairie Pointe Student Living
"Spacious, well-lit apartment with modern amenities, a great layout, and friendly neighbors. Convenient location & well-maintained!" going to stay for a while
Living in an apartment complex has been convenient and comfortable. Maintenance is quick, neighbors are friendly, but noise and space can be a challenge.
Maintenance is good most the time, front desk was super slow with things I needed (Supposed to receive a gift card the day of moving in and it took 2 months. and it’s loud everywhere! Parties at 3am.
This apartment complex has good amenities and great maintenance crew that always fixes my stuff very fast. I would definitely recommend living here!
Each occupant has their own personal space and private pace as well as space to hang out. Also really convenient having individual bathrooms allows for easier hosting of guests and greater flexibility for residents. More bathrooms can lead to better overall cleanliness, as each can be maintained separately.Comfortable living arrangements, especially for families or roommates who may have different schedules. Such layouts increase the property's rental appeal. Overall, this setup fosters a more functional and pleasant living environment.
I really like it here! The apartments are clean and well kept! Maintenance is quick to come when any problem appears! They try to have fun activities, which is a great way to meet people! Really great facility
The people and staff are all awesome and fun people, although the complex does fine a little too harshly. Its still a great place to live and in a great location.
Typical college apartment loud every night from people partying or squealing their tires outside cops get called at least once a week for noise complaints
I love living here. Love meeting new people and it feels like home. I love my roommates. 3 of us have lived together for a while now. Also love the people in the office.
I honestly love living here. I don’t like the fact that all of the people are extremely loud sometimes but other than that it’s an amazing place to live!
Well the apartments here are actually quite spacious and nice. Each with a personal room and bathroom which I like. Maintenance is usually very quick to response and friendly. It's the parties, loud neighbors, and noisy truck drivers at night that make the experience a little less enjoyable.
Great cost student living for the quantity/quality of amenities. The flat amount plus insurance with no utilities bill, free wifi, a gym, personal bathroom, etc, is the best deal your gonna get in the area. Maintenance is always quick, and the office is always helpful. Can recommend.
The location is likely another great feature. Being in a convenient area means you have easy access to everything you need, from grocery stores and cafes to parks and public transportation. It's great to have a home that offers both comfort and practicality. Plus, if you have a balcony or large windows, you can enjoy some fresh air and natural light, which makes any space feel more open and inviting. Lastly, the personal touches you add make it uniquely yours. Whether it's your choice of decor, the photos you hang up, or the plants you care for, these elements reflect your personality and make the apartment truly feel like home. It's wonderful to have a space that not only meets your needs but also brings you joy and comfort every day.
nice place and appliances. good group of people live there, great experience for college kids and learning how to live alone in a safe neighborhood
The staff is incredibly helpful, the apartments are fairly priced. The only complaint is the noise but it’s a college apartment so it’s too be expected, overall I enjoy living here
I’m having a great time! Prairie point is the perfect residence for college students. I feel safe, comfortable, and calm being in the apartments. It’s refreshing to be around so many people my age and to meet new people as well.
Living at Prairie Pointe is the best! Their staff is very kind and maintenance is always there to help you ASAP if you have an issue. In addition, Prairie Pointe puts together small events/activities that really brings everyone together!
A nice place to live! There's plently of stuff to do i nthe club house including watching a movie, have a cup of coffe, gym and so on. The environment is also very cozy.
I’ve had a pretty good experience, although the only complaint I have is noise. People are not respectful and noise complaints are not taken seriously.
I love it here! Prairie Pointe always holds such fun activities. The apartment is really nice and conveniently close to many different the district.
The apartment has a cozy vibe and is in a convenient location. The amenities are basic but functional, and the rent is reasonable for the area. However, the building could use some updates, and noise can be an issue at times. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're looking for something affordable and livable.
I really like the clubhouse it's a great environment. There a small but nice gym with the basics. A couple places on the grounds for grilling, and there is a fireplace popcorn. Coffee machine and overall I think the facilities are well taken care of.
CONS 1) Maintenance requests are NOT handled in a consistent timely manner, effectively. This may be due to understaffing. We’ve put out multiple urgent requests since move in and there’s only one (1) that has been done efficiently and had been actually completed. 2) Management is only somewhat capable. They do not know how to work resident portal, which leads to random fees. Rent money sent in may also be misplaced or “not go through”. Money that has “disappeared” is not taken as seriously as it should be. Keep every receipt. They do, however, REALLY care if there’s a car in the lot without a parking pass. Bikes too. 3) it’s a college apartment, so it’s loud. PROS 1) The apartment units seem like actual homes rather than a dorm or a hotel. 2) There is a movie theater, free popcorn and water bottles you can access in the office at or after office hours! 3) PP uses this tinder-esque app that residents use to match with roommates, which actually worked very well
I love the place that I live because of how close and easy it is to get to school. The staff here are so nice and has answered any questions that I have had.
Really good setup, and helpful staff! Second year with prairie point, and its really nice. Only critism would be that the walls are very thin.

Cheap, good location, nice apartments room with own bathroom. Parking is horrible and even worse in the winter when they just somewhat clean the parking lots.

Thank you for the great review! We are so glad that you are enjoying your time at Prairie Pointe!
My time at prairie pointe has been a really good time! I was really worried about moving in and leaving my family and getting homesick but this place has made it feel like my own home. Although we have had some loud occurrences it has been a really friendly place and me and my roommates have gotten along with everyone. I would highly recommend prairie pointe to anyone who is thinking about wanting to to live here!
Communication is almost zero with the office. Lots of broken stuff and little staff to help fix. The Maintenance people are super kind though.
Our apartment upon arrival was disgusting and smelt like mold and smoke. We had to clean for 7 hours before even moving in our belongings. the staff is not the nicest and aren’t always willing to help. The main office is also closed all the time which makes it difficult to express our needs. After deep deep cleaning and my dad fixing multiple things in the apartment that should have been done before we moved in, the apartment was nice. we didn’t have a washing machine door and our stove was broken for at least a week.
Move in was great and the managers are great and super sweet thank you! It’s an affordable great place to live with access to many different things definitely recommend
Very nice place for college kids. Kind of dirty, but nice enough. Can be very noisy, but quite enough for school work. Mainatance is quick but sometimes not quick enough.
Well I really enjoy Prarie Pointe, the people are very nice here. I will say the first few days I did have trouble with maintenance requests but other wise very good.
I think Prairie Pointe is a great place to live! They have wonderful amenities, friendly staff, lots of openings to make friends, and a good way to live college life to the fullest!
Pretty decent apartments for the price in Ankeny! Perfect for what I needed. If you’re looking for somewhere to live the college experience I would recommend
I love it here! I was very nice when I first got here. They have someone come and clean up all the cans. They are very good at making sure thing in are apartment get fixed.
The apartment is very nice and well maintained. The environment is very friendly, and the people are very nice. Prairie point is in a great/safe location.
The apartment is very nice and so are the people! It is in a perfect spot for school, food, and other activities. The kitchen is perfect for four people and allows you to have lots of different items.
Moving into my first apartment was a mix of challenges and excitement. The process started with the usual hurdles—packing up years of accumulated belongings, navigating the maze of moving boxes, and dealing with a few minor mishaps. Despite the chaos, there was a thrilling sense of independence and possibility. Unpacking and arranging furniture gave me a chance to personalize my space, transforming it from a blank canvas into a cozy home. I tackled unexpected issues with a positive attitude, discovering a knack for problem-solving and creativity. The sense of accomplishment as I settled in was incredibly rewarding. The experience taught me resilience and adaptability, turning the initial difficulties into memorable, fun milestones. Overall, it was a gratifying journey of self-discovery and newfound responsibility, laying the foundation for many adventures to come in my new home.
It’s a great place to live and very clean in the apartments. Easy to meet friends as well. Getting your own bathroom and your own shower is also great.
It is very nice for college living. It is very close to the DMACC campus which makes it very easy to attend classes. You can either walk which takes about 8 minutes or drive which takes like 2 minutes. The apartment have lots of space.
So far, my experience has been great. I have met a lot of nice new people. The walk to campus is great and not too long. The rooms when I moved in were very clean, and super spacious. It’s nice living on the bottom floor
Great place to live lots of things to do. The apartments are super nice. I would recommend living here if you go to school at dmacc. Very clean
It has been super great so far! My only complaint is that we had to submit a lot of maintenance requests from the previous people who lived here.
Very nice and clean place to live no problems really. Only thing that stands out in the grounds around the building get very dirty and takes awhile to be picked up
Everyone I have met so far seems super cool still would like to meet more new friends! My roommates I found on the app are super cool and prairie point has a great way to match you with your roommates.
Amazing place! So many amazing people! Love having so much privacy with own room and bathroom! Planning on staying for all my college here at DMACC! Not to mention how close it is to campus!
it has been good. A nice safe area. It does get noisy at night time. There is also securiy and police here often which adds a good layer of protection to the building.
Not knowing anyone I didn't pick roommates, 2 are great one however doesn't care and isnt mindful. One downfall to coming to a new place I guess. Commons area abit run down but bedroom area is nice. I am walking to DMACC so the convenience is nice for me a 10 min walk. And close to alot of surrounding area businesses too.
The apartments are really nice. You can get your own privacy from your other roommates when you need it. The neighbors are nice and loved getting to know everyone from here.
