Although Aurora doesn’t have an official downtown district, City Center houses a lot of the city’s business establishments and is located in the middle of the Denver suburb. Along with multiple shopping plazas and restaurants, City Center is home to Town Center at Aurora, a large mall. The neighborhood also has a small park for residents to enjoy. The residential streets of City Center have condos and mid-rise apartments available for rent. Aurora is a popular option for commuters since it has a lower cost of living than Denver and typically has more affordable rental options as well. City Center is a great option for commuters because Interstate 225 is located along the neighborhood’s western border. Downtown Denver is only 19 miles away from City Center.

Property Ratings at Preserve at City Center
My apartment building burned down, none of the fire alarms went off in the whole building. Fire fighters just happened to drive by and see the fire. The building had no sprinklers. Despite the blatant neglect by AMC/Preserve at City Center they are refusing to reimburse residents for damages to their apartments.

We are deeply sorry for the distressing experience and the significant impact it has had on our residents. A situation like this is unexpected and out of our control. Your concerns are being taken very seriously, and we will look into the situation and follow up as necessary.
Run away as fast as you can!! Do not waste your time with this place! No walk through with the leasing staff for our tour, and when we made the DUMB decision to lease, found that they had never cleaned our apartment or treated for the roaches we found during our walkthrough. We pointed out all the items that were not done prior to our move in, and we even tried getting things done immediately. Instead, we have lived here almost a year and have dealt with constant lack of leadership, no real response system that works for maintenance items. And, they allow trash and other items to pile up. Have an old hot water heater that we finally got them to replace after multiple complaints sitting outside of our unit after nearly 5 weeks of replacement. We still have a large kitchen drawer that does not slide properly and falls out, and they have not corrected. Along with all the other items of more importance that we have had to deal with. TERRIBLE PLACE! Can't wait until our lease is up to leave!!!

We are disheartened to hear that your experience at our community has not met either of our expectations. We strive to give 5 star services in every situation, but we have fallen short and we apologize. Please feel free to reach out or come to the office at your earliest convenience so that we can make this right moving forward. We appreciate your feedback.
This place has left over 13 units without air throughout the summer. When you need things fixed they either get fixed half way or not at all. They don't leave people without hot water, air, etc.
I want to share invaluable insights into problems we are experiencing here. The goal is to help you decide if it’s worth signing a lease. Management used to be liberal with their balcony/patio policy. Recently, all tenants received several sternly worded notices reminding us that ONLY plants and patio furniture are allowed on balconies and patios. It comes down to nitpicking. The notices list a NUMBER of items that are prohibited including sun shades and bbq grills. Satellite dishes cannot be secured on the outside of our balcony anymore. Fines run from $100-$250, up to eviction. The grounds are equally “unsightly” and pet waste on sidewalks and landscaping continues to be an issue, which produces unpleasant odors when it rains or snows, not to mention contaminating the public waterways. Large piles of trash sitting around the dumpster. We pay an exorbitant CAM fee. The more we pay, the worse it gets. Filthy floor surfaces are begging for a power wash. I should not have to sacrifice comfort because I live in a depressed ‘hood. The area and community are unsafe and our vehicle was broken into. I feel that management should be overzealous about tenants’ rights in the same way they are overzealous about theirs. We also take issue that management is entering ALL apartments FREQUENTLY to conduct “inspections”. Some of these tasks can be grouped together and done in one visit to minimize the unwarranted invasion of privacy, especially since a family member works night. It is also challenging getting things fixed. Hopefully, by sharing our HONEST housing experience, you can decide whether this is the right place to call home.

We can't help but feel there's been a misunderstanding (or two) regarding the terms of your lease. It's worth noting that no one affiliated with our management team engages in capricious or negligent behavior, nor do we enter our residents' homes without first issuing the relevant notifications. In any case, we encourage you to contact our leasing office directly so we can better address your concerns. We'd love nothing more than to improve your experience.
This property is not professional. We are being contacted 2 years after moving out that we have to pay additional move-out fees without any previous notification of these fees.
Property Manager at Preserve at City Center, Responded To This Review
We sincerely regret any confusion and/or inconvenience you may have experienced. We'd be happy to clear up any and all misunderstandings; simply contact our leasing office directly whenever you get a second. Thanks!
Scheduled a tour and drove 30 minutes to a closed and locked up office. Came back just to be told I could not tour. Went to take information just to also find out there are hidden mandatory fees on top of rent. I would call it a joke if it were funny.

We're truly sorry for any confusion and/or inconvenience you may have experienced. We strive to provide five-star service to everyone interested in our community, and we're disappointed that your tour did not go as planned. We encourage you to visit our website preserveatcitycenter.com where all fees, which were provided to you when you visited our office, are listed. We'd love nothing more than to resolve this issue directly, and we encourage you to contact our leasing office at your earliest convenience. In the meantime, be well.
This is the worst place I have ever lived. I've lived here for 3 years and I have one of the "renovated" units. I have mold and water damage in my apartment that has never been addressed, fixtures and cabinets just fall off the wall, and I have to beg them to fix anything. The property assistant manager is condescending and rude and acts like I am bothering her every time I come in, but they have NEVER returned a phone call in the 3 years I have lived here. If you don't want me to bug you then ANSWER THE PHONE. I was without a mailbox for 6 months because some kids vandalized them and they took forever to replace it, so I had to drive to the post office to pick up all my mail. There is trash everywhere, it's noisy all the time, and parking is sparse. I was without internet for weeks because they couldn't be bothered to call an electrician. I personally went into the office six times and begged them to fix it, because even pre-pandemic I work from home and it's my livelihood...and that rude assistant manager just faked smiled at me, and just didn't care. I have lived in all kinds of rental situations, from crappy student living to houses owned by individuals...and I have never been so mistreated by a property management company in my life. I can finally move out of this place because I am in a position to do so, and I CAN'T WAIT TO ESCAPE.
Property Manager at Preserve at City Center, Responded To This Review
Oh no! While we disagree strongly with your assessment of our community, your comfort and satisfaction mean a great deal to us. We're confident that your displeasure is the result of a simple misunderstanding, and we encourage you to contact a member of our team directly whenever you have a minute. Thank you.
Want to wake up to gunshots every night? Enjoy being talked down to by a condescending assistant manager that doesn't know how to answer a phone but doesn't want you coming in the office? Want everybody who works there to give you DIFFERENT information about amenities, pool info, and even your lease? This is the place for you! Don't forget to walk your dog around so he can eat the chicken bones and half eaten peanut butter sandwiches left everywhere by the disgusting children that run amuck. You'll only have to call the police on the homeless people shooting up in the parking lot twice a week, and the drug dealers outside won't shoot you if you just stay inside. Their leasing office staff doesn't follow their hours, so i hope you can leave work early if you ever need to drop a rent check. And they do "inspections" to let themselves in your apartment every 2 weeks. You would think that means stuff would actually get fixed....
I do not have any negative comments about the inside of my apartment or maintenance. But with good there is very bad here.I have been there for almost 2months now and my vehicle and my family's rental was broken into. Mine was the 3rd this week. (from what I heard) and around the time that my rental was broken into another neighbor vehicle was vandalized as well. There is no security cameras, no light poles in the back to see the parking lot, and gates are unsecured. I have paid more to get my cars fix than putting furniture into my apartment. So if you move here beware of your neighbors and I say neighbors because after I took my personal security cameras down...my car was broken into. I am going to the manager which is Jeff( good guy btw) and will see if they will either cut the branches down or add a light pole and that will definitely make some kind of a difference. So beware its some good here but YOUR POCKETS WILL BE HURTING!!!
Property Manager at Preserve at City Center, Responded To This Review
Oh no! We certainly sympathize with your frustrations, as we take your comfort and satisfaction very seriously. We'd love to work together to address your concerns directly, and we hope you'll give us a call whenever you have a moment. In the meantime, please know that you're a valued member of our five-star community.
I have NEVER experience such NEGLIGENCE in my entire life. I currently have NO HEAT and haven't had heat for three days, and it snowed all day for two of those. I put in a service request and later had to call emergency maintenance to find out that my service request was never given to the maintenance!! The office NEVER answers the phone, even if you call five times throughout the day! Their communication skills are extremely poor and I don't understand how this property hasn't gotten sued yet. When my roommate and I moved in, they had the wrong names on our lease. They almost didn't give us the keys on our move-in date... Our apartment wasn't even made ready!!! We had to give them a MASSIVE list of what needed to be fixed and it was a nasty roach house! I have gotten three nails in my tires and my roommate with another two in the past 6 months. It sounds like my upstairs neighbors are going to come through the ceiling; I can literally hear every single thing that goes on upstairs. The neighbors in the community are wild and there have been people breaking through apartments from the balconies! My list seriously goes ON AND ON, but just take my advice and DO NOT MOVE HERE!
This is a good place to live. Surroundings are great and everything is in minutes away. Mall, Grocery store, Movie theater, Restaurant nearby are good. Leasing staff is polite and well mannered. Schools are not too far and buses are provided and pickup and drop location is very near to apartment.
This was the first home for my family and I, that we all enjoy and love together. Yeah there may be a little problems, but what great home doesn't have its down's. One major advantage we have at these apartments is that we are so close to the Aurora Mall, 225 and multiple spots to enjoy with the family and friends.
The apartment at the Preserve are very comfortable. The majority of the units are remodeled and include a fireplace, central air conditioning, dishwasher, walk in closets, patio and an option to have a washer/dryer in the unit. Haven't had any bed bug or pest problems here. And the units are very spacious. The apartments are close to public transportation, shopping, and dining. The management team is very nice; however, they are not always on top of their game, but they are considerate. In addition, they have a very friendly and prompt maintenance team. With that being said, there are a few very important downsides. The first, the walls here are beyond paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING that happens outside. And depending where your unit is located and how considerate your neighbors, this may not be a problem. But for me, that has been the biggest nightmare. I have to hear one of the neighbors go "Whoo" consecutively, almost every night or early morning. Since the TV cannot fully drown out his wails, I force to wait until he stops to fall asleep. Secondly, please chose a unit on the top floor if possible, because if you don't, you would be forced to listen and sometimes be startled by every stomp and clatter of your upstairs marching band elephant neighbors. Overall, you will like the unit if you rent here and will love it if you are near reasonably considerate neighbors.
All the apartment pictures on this site do not look like the actual thing. When i first moved in, maintence has left cigarettes, and drinks in the apartment. Also, The carpet was discusting and not new. It was warn out. The staff in the leasing office is very nice and kind, But they will come in when they please and dont give any notice. other then that, the community is quite and no real loud nosies. Just on occasion. Lastly, great location, we can walk to the grocery store, Very close to the mall and the highway, and maintenice is fast when you need something fixed.
Whenever or wherever a person rents an apartment it is up to that person to make that apartment his or her home and I have for 8 years had a very happy time at The Preserve at City Center Apartments. A big factor for my staying is my relationship with the best management and maintenance team I have had the pleasure of being with. Every request of mine has been met with professionalism and friendliness on all occasions. I could not wish for a better place to stay. This is my home.
I was a prospective resident and originally spoke with the Property Manager. She stated that once she received my signed application that she would call me to have me put down the deposit and the application fee before running my application. That call never came. I called on several different occasions over a period of a couple days and left a message with whatever leasing agent who answered the phone asking for the Property Manager to call me. Again, that call never came. Finally, I receive a call from a leasing agent; not the person I wanted to speak with and I advised them I was not interested on that call. The leasing agent was calling to collect the deposit and the application fee. I learned later that they had ran the application prior to that leasing agent calling me and collecting the fee. Now they are demanding payment for an application to an apartment I told them I was not interested in for an application they ran before calling me to collect payment. This may not be illegal, but it is unethical and I want everyone to know what type of people work here.
