Property Ratings at Presidential Estates
My husband and I lived in Presidential Estates for four years. We really loved our apartment! The only reason we left was because we bought a house. The apartment is spacious and bright and the grounds are kept up well. You’re not going to get marble countertops and stainless steel appliances, but that’s why the pricing is more palatable than other spots in the area. The management and maintenance teams are very pleasant and responsive. Any issue that we had was always resolved quickly. The only downside about presidential estates is that the windows are a bit drafty which makes electric bills a little higher in the winter. (But the plastic window covers helped us a ton) This is a great apartment complex and I would 100% recommend it!
Awesome location walking distance to alot of amenities. Management was always available to take care of any concerns.the complex was always clean.small gym, tennis court and swimming pool were also nice additions and kept in safe shape.
If you are reading this review before you decide to rent this place, congrats. You are running away from a future nightmare. If you won't break your lease, you are fine; but you don't know what's gonna happen in the future. Before we broke our lease, the leasing office told us that our apartment would be rented out shortly even during holidays. So we paid $800 to break the lease and gave them one week notice before we moved out. After one month, we didn't hear anything from them and then found out the apartment wasn't rented out yet. The property manager Barbara told us we have to continue paying the rent for the rest the lease term until next person moves in. So we are not getting the security deposit back, we paid $800 already and we are still paying the rent. We moved out because we closed a house and there is no perfect timing for it. As a more than 2 years of loyal tenant, this is no room for negotiation. Plus, Barbara will always be aggressive and even ignore your communication. They will never work things out with tenants. All they want is money. If you want to report to upper management, forget about it, because guess who is the big boss? - Barbara's father!!! So run away when you have a chance! We are so heart broken now. We probably not just won't be able get any penny back, but also will end up owing them money if they can't rent out the apartment soon.
Property Manager at Presidential Estates, Responded To This Review
This previous tenant was given a full explanation of our break lease policy when they moved in and again when they wished to break their lease. They then signed the agreement which is clear in all the requirements and obligations of the tenants. It is unfortunate that they believe they do not have to abide by the agreement they signed and approved.
Property Manager at Presidential Estates, Responded To This Review
We are sorry this previous tenant is unhappy with our break lease terms. We are very clear on that when they inquire and there is a form which must be filled out and signed which clearly delineate the terms. Then tenant must read, sign and return this form to us before we can legally start marketing their apartment. We always do our best to remarket apartments as quickly as possible, but we have no control over the current market. When a new tenant moves in and the lease is terminated, this tenant will, in accordance with law, receive a move-out statement and a refund of any security deposit balance remaining. We never ignore communication. I do know who this tenant is and they were responded to several times with a few minutes of their emails to me. I realize you are unhappy, but is it fair to blame us for terms that have been in place for years, that we apply equally to all, that were made clear to you from the beginning, just because you don't want to abide by the terms of your lease?
Do not live here as your money could go much further at other much nicer apartments in the area. To begin the walls/windows are very drafty and in combination of electric heat result in high electric bills. The management office often needs to be reminded to address maintenance requests in a timely manner. The security of this place is a joke as the guard at night opens the gate often without checking for a parking sticker on the entering car. The insulation of the place is so bad that the windows are often wet and ice over on the inside during the winter. Upon move out the place finds every little thing to prevent you from getting your full security deposit back. If you combine the price paid in rent, money loss to the security deposit and electric you could have lived in much nicer apartment.
Property Manager at Presidential Estates, Responded To This Review
This is an older complex. The walls are not drafty but the windows are aluminum and can conduct cold and moisture in very extreme weather. We are always happy to provide extra insulation and storm windows when a tenant advises us of a problem. The electric heat allows tenants to control their own usage and can be a very large cost saving if heat is not left on or too high unnecessarily. Tenants are required to maintain their apartments and return them in the same condition as when they rented them, normal wear and tear excepted. Most people are very conscientious and return their apartments in good order and receive their full security deposit back. Unfortunately, some people feel that if they are renting they do not have to treat the amenities in the apartment with care. That is a shame and they will be charged for damage they have caused. They receive a detailed, itemized move out statement along with any remaining security deposit balance, as is required by law, within 30 days of lease termination. We will speak to our security service regarding the control procedures. Of course the guard is not supposed to open the gate for unidentified vehicles. Thank you for advising us of this.
My husband and I have lived here for three years with our two cats. The apartment is spacious with great storage space. The building is old, so the windows are drafty in the winter, but otherwise, we have no complaints. The management has been friendly and the maintenance staff responds quickly to requests. The area is pretty quiet with nice trees blocking out a lot of the sounds of the city.
Very sad establishment! Very nice apartments but horrible management!!!!!!
I lived here for a year as my lease is for one year and then I don't want to extend it. Please don't rent apt in this community. Lease office people are very rude. And when you tell them that you don't want to extend lease then they will come a month ahead and do their inspection and write all useless changes that you have to do before moving otherwise they will charge you too much for that and even if you do that they will not satisfy with that and with your security deposit money they will do all upgrades in that apt and will not give you most of the your security deposit. You will get only small amount back. Also they have contact with tow company and that company will tow your friends and family member's car and charge you too much and this lease office people don't take responsibility for that. Also if you want to extend your lease then they will increase your rent more than new tenants. Overall you will loose your lot of money if you leave here and you will not even like your stay here so please check with other apt communities as there are bunch of apt around this place.
I've never have been treated like way Presidential management conducts business. They are rude beyond belief , they discriminate againsts family's. If you have children please don't consider this place . This family run place needs renewed sence of rental business appropriateness. Beware public !!!!!!
I thought Presidential Estates would be a nice place to live. I reached out to office staff regarding a 1 bedroom apartment. A gentleman called and left a voicemail message that they had 2 of 1 bedroom apartments available. I tried calling back but could not get anyone in office to answer, left a message. 2 days following the voicemail message I received, I went in person to the office. One person (female) in the office was with someone so I waited. When she finished she asked why I was there and did I have an appointment (a bit rudely I thought). I explained about the 1 bed and that I could not get through to the office to make an appointment. Office person very abruptly told me that she was busy and that both apartments were "gone". As I walked out, a little annoyed I must admit, I thought that it was odd that 2 days ago there were 2 available apartments and now nothing. At best, this rental office is incompetent and perhaps what they say is an actual lie. I will avoid this place going forward.
This location is not worth the money savings. Management at this location is rude and disrespectful. Tenants they allow in will steal your mail and other belongings. Also they will tow your car even if registered with them. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
Nice apartments but the leasing office never gets back to us. We put work orders in and nothing happens. The gates at the entrance are always up, have only seen the gates down a few times. Everything else is good but these little details kill it for me.
