Stayed here for 11 months in ground floor. The staff are nice and friendly and fulfill the maintainance requests within the same day or by next day. But during hot weather, I have seen house centipedes enter from the cracks in the restroom and also all sorts of bugs creeping inside and outside the house. That has been a very unpleasant experience. The maintenance could be better. Well sealing of the cracks is necessary and something regarding the bugs needs to be done.

DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS COMPLEX!!!! I have lived here for over TWO years and the squirrels in the ceilings are rampant!! I’ve complained to the property management numerous of times and they have NOT rectified the problem!! They’ve offered to move units but not offer to help pay for movers being that it is THEIR inconvenience! I’ve have made my rent payments ON TIME for TWO years straight and this is how they treat their tenants. There are so many squirrels in the attic that they’re dying and their smells are seeping into the apartments as well as the corridor ! IF YOU ENJOY PEACE AND QUIET DO NOT MOVE HERE !!!!!

The grounds and mandatory amenities area disappointing. Apartments are old and outdated. The model looks nothing like the units. I’m 100% sure you will find a better property for your money. The lobby looks so much better then the property and unit. Dog park is a joke, internet is horrible (and mandatory) grounds treatment for bugs are a joke. Go elsewhere

I used to live here and it blows my mind that they’re charging what they’re charging for apartments that were built in the mid 80’s. The site says 1996. But it definitely didn’t say that when I moved there prior to the renovations back in 2011. It was old then and is definitely older now. The hot water in the shower would run out quickly. The floors creaked loudly. They never power washed the breezeway during the 5 yrs that I lived there. The last year that I was there I moved into a renovated apartment. Let me tell you, the upgrades weren’t worth the time it took to use them. The counter tops and wood floors were nice. But everything else simply wasn’t worth it. The water pressure in this apartment was horrible. It stayed hot though.

I have been at Presley Oaks since a little before the new management took over. The office Office staff and property manager are always on point when I am in need. The maintenance team is prompt and knowledgeable. The outside gym space is a major plus during these trying times and the facilities are well maintained. I would definitely recommend Presley Oaks.

I love living at Presley Oaks. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The setting is very cozy and clean. Having a pool, free parking and a garage makes it even more amazing. My unit is very luxurious and spacious. Presley Oaks is the place to be !!!!!

LOVE Presley Oaks. Who wants to move during this crazy year of 2020, and during the pandemic? Me. Presley was the first to offer actual tours in the area during that time, and I was sold. Beautiful grounds, attentive staff, wonderful leadership, and the community is well maintained, and private. Excellent experience all the way around with attention to detail in comfort and inclusivity. The Internet, through spectrum is all inclusive and routed individually in each unit. Wasn't thrilled about that, but.. So far it's been FANTASTIC! Think Business class, for a decent rate!

If you are looking at this complex please look elsewhere. Management is seriously lacking. They just added water regulators so if you love a shower with great pressure, you would be better off staying at a hotel. Yes, a hotel shower will have better water pressure than this place! I'll spend more money running water to take a shower now than with the previous rainhead shower head we had. I'll use more water to fill up the sink to soak or wash dishes than previously. We are to get new washer and dryers installed at some point and I cringe at the thought of how those will be "improved" Management doesn't want to deter any potential residents so they ask us not to leave our trash out but Valet Trash is not reliable so now maintenance has to go around to collect it. They had speed bumps installed and half of those are missing and the other half were never installed. The renovations from 2016 are horrible. I should not be able to slide a bobbypin or hair tie under shoe molding. The location is great but they need to go back to the drawing board about everything else.

Looks good at first glance and office workers are nice, but if you don’t mind drug dealing in your neighborhood, car break-ins, and lazy maintenance guys you can’t trust who smoke weed during work hrs and have low standards, then come here! Don’t let the security gate fool you. Anyone can get in. Cortland (management company) so much as cut the health benefits from old maintenance workers when they came here a few ago so the good ones left and we ended up with low class ones. Also, Cortland rewards people for writing good reviews, so you can’t trust everything you read.

Ive lived here for over a year and all has been well. The place is beautiful, staff is friendly at times and I feel confident that I am getting what I pay for. Recently I've experienced a few hiccups when transferring to a different apartment in the community. It showed me that I had to be on top of things because I was not set up for success by the community.
The oaks staff makes you feel like this is a home, not just an appartment. They do special little things like remembering your name, having coffee available and yoga classes. The landscaping is rustic with roses sprinkled around, which is a lovely view. The kitchen and bathroom counters are granite and high. The kitchen also has stainless steel appliances. Most of the apartment does not have carpet (which I love) and they let you paint a pretty accent wall. They're very responsive, professional and kind. I also like the 2nd lock is not accessible to anyone when i'm inside, a nice security feature. Nice place to call home...

Very attractive grounds, promp services.
The place itself is nice however the people who live here are not. People drive way too fast and ignore stop signs. I am afraid of getting hit by a car while walking my dog. There is litter and dog poop everywhere. The pool was late to open for the second year in a row. My apartment constantly smells like weed and the parking is horrible. People like to park in ways that they take two spots. Other people park on the sides and in front of the main entrances to buildings even when there are parking spots available. I also get annoyed that non handicapped persons park in handicapped spaces. The upgraded features are nice however they cause a lot of problems. Our lights in the kitchen keep shorting out, our hot water in the shower is terrible because of the giant shower head and our thermos stat can only give us heat or a.c because the units outside are not updated for the new thermostat. Even with all of these issues we would have considered staying here after our lease was up but the complex went up in rent and Denise was unwilling to work with us. Bye Bye Northlake area and the Oaks!
The Oaks is a safe and quiet place to live. I love having a garage and the staff is friendly. The valet trash service is wonderful. Very convenient location. My only complaint is that the rent goes up every year.
Do your research before moving in. The buildings are older and have poor barriers between the apartment floors. If your neighbors are cigarette smokers, be warned your entire apartment will smell like you are a smoker. The maintenance team is great though.
Please clean breeze way to apartments no one would consider this good maintenance Power wash the area also paint touch up please consider all areas of this property.

Listen: I have VERY VERY HIGH expectations when it comes to my hard earned money and the amounts if rising rent across Charlotte. We ALL want our top value for the dollar!!!! After searching numerous places in North Charlotte amd the University area. Nothing compared to the value for my dollar. The process was painless, the staff is very respectful and was welcomed either open arms. Very clean community, homes, and friendly staff. A SURE Renewal!!!! Try it. It's worth every penny.
I looked at dozens of local communities while apartment hunting, and only The Oaks had absolutely everything I was looking for.
Not too expensive and very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing community to live in.
I moved into The Oaks nine months ago. I’ve been very happy with the apartment and with everything else. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for people looking for quiet place to live.

Rayla was very helpful throughout my move in process. Even though I was transferring from another Cortland community and pretty much knew what to expect, she made sure I was informed about the whole process. She is a great asset to the community! Maintenance requests are handled in a very timely manner and they always check to see whether everything was completed to your satisfaction. I could not imagine living at a better community.
The Oaks is a great apartment community, clean environment, great Office Team and services. I would definitely recommend The Oaks to my friends.
I have lived here for a year and was told the fitness facility would be 24 hours and opened last fall. Not only did it open 6 months after I was told it is not yet 24 hours and only open during office hours which I am unable to utilize because of my work schedule. I was also promised the pool would be open by memorial day It is now almost the end of June and no pool. There are cheaper options in charlotte with better amenities be careful here the staff will tell you what you want to hear so you sign a lease.
I lived here in a non-renovated apt. The staff is wonderful and helpful. I was lucky with neighbors too.

I actually live here on the property. I've seen on many sites posting overly positive reviews about this place. They have all missed the mark, or maybe they are not residents writing them, who knows. The staff is not "awesome." They are liars and once you sign your lease, they no longer help you with anything. When you break your lease you're considered "the enemy." The gate doesn't work..ever. They've been saying for over 10 months that a gym was supposed to be ready and available in January...now it's August... still NO GYM as promised. The stairs are dirty, filled with dead roaches, spiderwebs and trash. The rent is not worth the price of this old property. The pictures are overly filtered. The apartments look nothing like these pictures. They are dark and old, with a few replacements. Rent has gone way too high for people who have lived here for a long time, and these "upgrades" are not upgrades. They replaces a lot of the outside but the inside looks old as usual. They need to tear this whole property down and rebuild it. Before you sign your lease get everything in writing, that they actually spray for bugs, that the gate works, that the gym is ready or an exact date of when it will be. What apartment complex does anyone pay so much for and not have a gym?? There is one maintenance guy who is nice. Other than that everyone else is full of it.It is definitely time to go.

Me and my girlfriend are about to sign our third lease here at the Oaks. This place just feels like home. We looked around at the other apartments that are in the same price range and couldn't find anything that is near the quality that is here at the Oaks. We are moving into newly renovated apartment and we can't wait! The smallest and the largest one bedrooms have the best layout (as one bedrooms go). Our dog loves the new dog park.
I've been living here a little under a year and I love it. They have changed so much stuff around here! Pool, the gym, and the apartments look great. The do need more parking though. I hate that I have to move to California in December, really going to miss this place.
This apartment is spacious for a one bedroom, it is slightly upgraded and eventually by next year all of the apartments will be fully upgraded. The walk-in closet is huge!! I fit a full sized dresser and I still have plenty of room to put another and still walk in. The property manager is very personable, any problem that I have had, it is fixed right away! I love it here, the only downfall is the hike in price with the renovations to the apartments and the property.
