Nestled between Interstate 94 and the Mississippi River, Saint Paul’s Arts District is exactly what you’d imagine: a lively, artistic, and culturally-focused community that’s filled with entertainment options. The Arts District is home to Palace Theatre and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. This family-friendly downtown district features the Minnesota Children’s Museum, filled with kid-friendly fun.
There’s plenty of fun to be had along the river as well. From Kellogg Mall Park to the Mississippi National River Recreation Area, locals and visitors alike can enjoy 72 waterfront miles of hiking, biking, and fishing opportunities. And if you’re interested in getting on the water, you canoe and riverboat trips are available as well. There is plenty of public transit in the Arts District as well, and the renovated historic station, Union Depot, is a scenic spot to visit while you’re strolling through the neighborhood.

Property Ratings at Press House Apartments
I would not suggest moving in this apartment building. The walls are so thin that you can actually hear what your neighbors are saying. People urinate all over the elevators, you can literally smell it. Random people hang out in the lobby and trash it. Children run around all night and all day and you can literally hear their them in your sleep. I have reported the matter to Shannon, the manager for about 8 months, and she would always lie and say that she is going to handle it. If you ever go to her office and she is sitting there, she would literally ignore you as if you are invisible. I moved out because of this reason, and because of the noise, and I’m so glad that I did. I have contacted her several times regarding my rental deposit, and of course with no response from her at all. I am currently in the process of taking the company to court due to not paying me back my rental deposit; once COVID-19 numbers start to decline, and the courts start to take on small claims again, I will be suing for double it plus other withholding penalties. Honestly, look elsewhere for renting in Downtown St. Paul. There are so many better places that has better amenities and management that actually cares. Trust me.
Lived here for a year. They advertise it as “affordable luxury.” It’s nothing of the sort. Very unkept, dirty halls and elevators. Parking ramp is through the sketchy skyway, which closes at midnight so if you arrive after that, you need to walk outside around the block. Worst part of living there was management. Anytime you ask the manager, Shannon, for anything; she will either ignore you or act as if she is being inconvenienced. I didn’t have proper lighting in my bathroom for about 6 months. Completely unbearable to work with and always has an attitude. It took them over 2 months to return my deposit because she didn’t update my new address (which I’ve given to her several times) so they mailed it to their own building with my old apartment address. Then they had to wait for it to return. The amount of the check was also wrong. I had to speak to someone in the accounting department to re-review my account to give me the right amount. So glad to be out of that building!
Downtown St. Paul area is a mess including these apartments they literally rent to anyone. Also violent things happen on my floor 3rd floor. (Police are here consistently) do not rent here!
