Characterized by densely populated residential areas and the occasional small shopping center, Millcreek is a safe and comfortable place to live. While not as trendy as Sugarhouse to the north, the neighborhood provides plenty of dining and entertainment options. Families, in particular, love Millcreek for its low crime rate and highly-rated schools.
Millcreek lies just 7 miles south of downtown Salt Lake City, making for a short drive even in the heaviest traffic. Many residents live in the area and commute to the downtown businesses or the University of Utah; Millcreek also lies within a 30-minute drive of many southern suburbs. Just 15 minutes to the east, the Wasatch Mountains provide hiking and skiing opportunities.

Property Ratings at Preston Hollow
Wow, after the terrible start at this apartment of it not being clean and the water heater breaking and not having Wi-Fi to my unit for a month I am extremely disappointed with how they treat their residents. They don’t follow their rules and aren’t flexible at all. I had a terrible experience here and would not recommend it.

Hi, we apologize if you have had a negative experience at our community. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and will take your feedback into consideration to improve our services.
Today, on 8/4, I was shocked to receive a "notice to vacate" on the door due to not paying for August. Before today, I did not receive any notice or reminder in any format about a balance due. The payment system did not notify me the autopay was ended and did not remind me that I had a balance due. The manager eventually cancelled the late fee, but we were still charged a concession fee and notice fee for $230. This is ridiculous as they did not notify in any format about balance due but just notify to vacate and add much of penalty 1 day after payment due. I was shocked. In a word, they try all to charge the residents more. I was concerned about the payment system starting from the move-in date, and it turned out this concern is valid.

Hello, We deeply apologize for your experience. It seems like you are disappointed, and we would love to hear more about where we fell short. Please reach out to our team at your earliest convenience.
Preston Hollow was once a great hidden gem, with spacious apartments for a relatively affordable price. Unfortunately, that is long gone. Rents continue to increase in the complex despite no discernable improvements. The actual clubhouse/office was improved, but the complex itself has seen very little. If anything, rents should be decreasing, as they've removed amenities--they initially had a laundry facility on site, but that was shuttered and replaced by nothing at all. An el-cheapo slap of paint on the exteriors was a nice change of pace, although ultimately meaningless. They "renovated" the pool area by removing all its character, tore out the pergola, couldn't get the machinery into the area because they built up around it so everything was done using hand tools (what a total clusterf), and keeping it shut down in the middle of a pandemic during the summer. Thanks for that too. Management doesn't care AT ALL about the tenants. The gates rarely ever work, so it's really mislabeled calling this a "gated community". The fitness center is a fitness center in name only, and more of a small cement afterthought with poorly maintained and possibly dangerous equipment. And if that's not bad enough, the seasonal infestations of box elder and elm seed bugs is just a wonderful treat to come home and find that the poorly sealed windows and doors just let all of them find their way inside, covering the walls. My roommate and I spent weeks fighting a futile battle against these intrepid pests. The nearby runoff stream does bring a nice array of birds and ducks and geese, which is about one of the only perks. The walls are thin too, so if your neighbor likes to listen to their music at a volume above a whisper, that means you get to listen to their music too. All in all, avoid at all costs. It was once a 4-star property, but has since fallen into embarrassing disarray. I think AMC took it over, and that is excruciatingly evidenced by their continued degradation into slum lords.

Hi there, we would be happy to discuss any concerns you may have if you would like to give the office a call 801-288-5100. We hope to resolve this quickly for you and look forward to hearing back from you.
I used to LOVE living here! I could deal with the maintenance delays because the staff was so great, and the exterior of the property looked fine. Now, the exterior of three buildings is unacceptable and has been for two months. The effects of coming home to a junky building each day are compounded by the lack of communication from the staff. All of the doors, rails, and balconies are literally half painted since mid-December. Do you know when they will be complete? “When it’s warmer.” There is no gesture from the company for the inconvenience of coming home to a trashy apartment. Very poor management. We are being surveyed if we want a pet bath or a yoga room — but they can’t communicate the maintenance we were told would haven (via a printed newsletter) wouldn’t actually happen. Get it together please. I really want to like living here again.

We are so sorry to hear that you have not received the customer service that everyone deserves here at our community. This is very uncharacteristic of our staff. We want all of our residents to feel comfortable and at home, while living on the property, both at home and in the office. Please contact us at your earliest convenience so that we can address your issues and rectify this in any way we can.
They prioritize the aesthetics of the facility more than the well being and security of the residents. "Under new management" by AMC something or another investment company. You know what investment companies care about? Return on investment. Keep the complex fully occupied. Full stop! Don't be fooled by their clu club house, they make you pay to use it. Their pool is average, the hot tub is lukewarm (for liability reasons, wouldn't want kids playing in there to burn themselves). Their "gate" which they claim "only closes at night" is never actually closed. My car has been broken into twice. And on more than one occasion have I seen creepy individuals wandering through the parking lot late at night. Dont be fooled by their out of date advertising pictures. This place is not in a safe area.

We are disappointed by such a negative characterization of our community and business practices. Our team prides itself on the utmost level of customer service and transparency with all residents, and it's disheartening to learn you haven't seen it this way over the course of your residency. We do embrace all feedback and sincerely welcome yours, however, and we'd ask you to bring your concerns and ideas for community improvement into our leasing office where we can get a better understanding of some of the issues you've encoutered here. Thanks for everything.
I'm moving from out of state to Utah, and my first attempt to contact this apartment went unanswered. My second attempt finally got a response, and we started exchanging emails (it's easier than a phone call during the day since I'm at work). I suddenly stopped receiving responses for a couple days. I contacted Preston Hollow again, and someone else replied and said the first person I spoke to was off work. They could've at least let me know. So, I started to communicate with the second person. After putting together information from both people, I decided I thought I wanted to live there. I let Preston Hollow know I was interested in living there, and asked how the application process would work, and what I should do next. I never got a reply. Fortunately, they never did reply because I kept looking, and I found a much better place for me.

We're disappointed to hear you've decided against calling our community home. Our staff does their best to be available to all current and potential residents throughout our office hours via phone and email. However, occasionally situations may arise that draw us away from the desk for a moment or two. We apologize for any trouble you had getting ahold of us and for any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you are ever in search of housing in the area again, we hope you'll come check our community out for yourself and give us another chance to wow you with exceptional service. Thank you.
I've never lived in a place with such horrible neighbors. We've been here 2 years and I absolutely can't wait to get out in a month. The people upstairs stomp around so hard I am scared to have anything on our walls and things fall off of shelves occasionally. They do this suddenly between 3-5 am, jolting me out of bed. The office staff calls them, but doesn't pursue the issue farther (the office staff is super-duper nice and I love them, so maybe they just don't have it in them do to anything...but that's a very bad thing for people who like to sleep at night and have loud neighbors). We happen to have the awful situation of facing the pool and volley-ball area, which is fine in the winter, but once the pool is open, get ready for screaming kids all afternoon and evening. Even in the fall when it is pitch black dark out when the pool closes at 10pm they sit out there unsupervised and scream relentlessly until then. We just had new people move in below us that blast super loud bass all afternoon/evening and I don't even have the heart to bother the office about it because nothing ever comes of that. I am absolutely miserable here and cannot recommend this unit to anyone. Otherwise, the grounds are kept well and the units *look* nice. And the staff is super nice and responsive to maintenance issues.
Property Manager at Preston Hollow, Responded To This Review
We're so sorry that the noise levels have negatively impacted your experience at our community! Though some amount of neighbor-noise is common in multifamily housing situations, we do have policies in place to try and prevent excess noise. We're sincerely sorry that our efforts have not mitigated the problem; please reach out to our office at your earliest convenience so that we can discuss ways to improve your stay. We look forward to meeting with you.
The office staff have always been very friendly and helpful. This is a pet friendly place and most owners take care of the droppings. The grounds are well kept and maintenance also does a good job. It is only about a mile to the closest Trax stop and to I-15. We have a one bedroom apartment on the third floor so we have vaulted ceilings. There are washer/dryer hookups in the apartment, but the laundry room is small so that the door can't be closed when there are actually appliances in the room. Newer appliances in the kitchen with a dishwasher. There is good storage space except for in the kitchen which is a little small. There is a small outdoor pool that is open from Memorial day to Labor day. There is a small workout room that is open 24/7 that has a couple of treadmills, resistance machines and some free weights. This is a gated community but the entrance gate almost always seems broken. Water/heating, sewage, and trash are shared utilities. The neighborhood is a little iffy but not the worst in the Salt Lake area. Rent is average for this area and quality of apartment.
My husband, brother, and I love our new apartment. This place is so beautiful, and my puppy loves all the ducks that live just below us. We are very happy!
We love our top floor apartment, and the 50 ducks that are our neighbors. This place rocks.
Where leases aren’t just contracts, but housing becomes a home. The quality of living here is definitely a bargain. You will not find anything remotely this nice, for this NICE OF A PRICE! We have lived here for 3 months now & not a single complaint! We adore our 1 bedroom which is a decent size & love the arrangement. The closet space is to die for! You have a double door walk in closet with hanging on the left & right side including top shelves & a 5-layered shelf rack for more organization. The ‘coat’ closet next to the front door is a walk-in closet at least 10 ft back & about 5 ft wide w/shelves. We have made it our storage unit. Our Laundry room is spacey as well, but in the process of taking off the door & turning it into a nursery for our baby girl come January. The measurements are perfect & will fit a crib inside along with a rocking chair. We love that we can personalize our spacing & truly make it OUR home. You are allowed to paint your walls free of charge so long as it's painted white upon departure. The flooring in our unit was well kept; tile at the front door, kitchen, laundry room, & bathroom. The rest of the apartment is carpet & looks still pretty fresh & brand new. The kitchen is painted all white with black, white, & gray counter tops that makes it look almost new. I love that there is surface lighting in EVERY room rather than plug in light fixtures. The sliding doors in the living room are big enough to allow natural lighting in during the day & huge windows in the bedroom also. The walls are pretty thick & we hardly ever hear our neighbors. Outside of the apartment, the grounds are well kept & groomed often. It definitely makes ‘coming home’ after a days work more welcoming & when you have company over more inviting. The landscape to me is just as important as the interior of an apartment and helps set the mood for your living atmosphere. The complex is quiet & peaceful with never too much traffic coming or going. It is it’s own little community & safer that way. The apartment is gated & closes at 8pm requiring an entrance button OR calling a resident at the gate for admittance. Convenience is a plus here as well! Preston is within minutes of a Smith's Grocery Store, Costco, Walmart, 7-eleven, Fashion Place Mall, St. Mark’s Hospital, Salt Lake Community College, & the I-15 and I-80 freeways. Life can’t get easier than that! The ONLY con is the area OUTSIDE of the complex; shady neighborhood. Thank goodness it's gated!
Our apartment complex is a step above, it really is fantastic. From the leasing office to maintenance they are all smiles. We have beautiful resident mallards that make their home on the property, it is woodsy, and even has a pond and little flowing creek. I enjoy so much that our complex is pet friendly. It's gated with security after dark so residents feel safe and sound each night. Most of the time you cannot even tell you live in a major American city because Preston Hollow is so serene and quiet. We enjoy a hot tub, pool, and 24 hour gym. Also we have a rec room where residents can get together and play a game of pool. I can't imagine living in any other apartment in Salt Lake now after living here and enjoying the quietness it offers 24/7 . It really is a great apartment complex. I love it here!!!!! <(^v^)>
I have been a resident for 2 years. They have 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. I'm at a 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment is very decent looking. Although they are not luxurious ( no hardwood floor, stainless steel appliances etc), they are not cheap looking either. All rooms are a decent size. I personally love the coat closet. It is so big I use it as a storage. The kitchen it's all white, has an over the top microwave and a nice pantry. There is a walk in laundry room with multiple shelves. The bedroom has a walk in closed with a large window. I enjoy the pool, it's clean and never crowded. The office staff is friendly and they know us by name. The only two things I do not like are the fact there are a lot of fees not included with the rent. Besides the regular sewer, water, trash, you also have a police fee, parking fee (carport)and a maintenance fee. They also require renter's insurance. The second thing is that you have to contact them multiple times to request maintenance. They never show up on the first time you call, unless you talk to the manager directly. Overall, I like this place, and recommend it.
Preston Hollow is a great complex. It has a good atmosphere with nice amenities like a pool, gym and volleyball court. It's very clean and well maintained, but by far the best thing about the complex is the staff. They're extremely helpful and quickly handle any issues that come up. Pretty much the only issue I ever run into with the complex is that the gate is a little crazy.
This is one of the better apartments I have lived at. The Apartment staff and maintenance are easy to get a hold of and respond quickly. My AC broke during the summer and my apartment temperature was around 98 degrees. After calling them they replaced my AC the next day on Saturday. The Maintenance staff are not usually working Saturday, but he came in on his day off just to make sure I had my AC fixed quickly. My neighbors are friendly and I don't have any noise complaints. My apartment is next to the pool and even with the kids playing and yelling, the noise isn't bad. I have a upstairs neighbor who is awake and moving during the night. Although I can hear the movement, It is never loud. Overall, these apartments are a great place to rent. The only downside is the price, which in my opinion is a little high. However, I feel it is worth the price.
This is a very nice well maintained complex in the heart of Murray. There is a trax station a few blocks away and the facilities are very well taken care of. Apartments are spacious and comfy with 9 foot ceilings. Pets are welcome here which is perfect for me. There is a landscaping company that comes every week or every other week to maintain the common areas. Overall, the complex looks very nice and clean. My favorite thing about Preston hollow is the office staff. The girls at the office are very nice even after you have moved in, lol. Vanessa is my favorite, she always has a smile and is always willing to help us. The only downside about Preston Hollow is the shady neighborhood, fortunately this is a gated community.
I have lived at Preston hollow apartments for two years now, and I love it. The staff here is awesome and super helpful! The rent is low in comparison to other apartments in the area. Overall great complex!
I've enjoyed living here with 3 roommates for the last 10 months, and would love to stay if it were in my price range on my own. Only a few complaints about maintenance not being very swift, but for big things like clogged toilets and busted pipes they're good. Relatively quiet area, clean grounds and so-so neighbors. Our downstairs ones are really into blasting the hip hop but they get the message after a few good stomps on the floor haha. Anyway, I would recommend this community to people who are looking, it's been pleasant.
I found Preston Hollow because The Legends in Draper was full. I never would have found this complex if it wasn't for a referral from the Legends. It has more space than most apartments in Utah with an open plan and 9ft. ceilings. It is in an unexpected beautiful property close to the city! They are very friendly to our 2 dogs in fact our new manager is getting us a dog park! YEAH!
