Property Ratings at Princeton Lakeview Apartments
just waiting for my lease to be up in April. everything is a money grab here. route 1 is terrible, so going anywhere is always a hassle. not what I envisioned when agreeing to move here.
I've been calling, emailing for at least a month to confirm availability. I applied and paid the $40 fee and have yet to receive confirmation that it has been used for its intended purpose. We even went to the development to try to talk to someone, got another email address from a resident, which led to one reply mid-March and none since.
My husband and I have been here for almost one year now and we love it! It is a quiet neighborhood and very chill.
Walls are paper thin and I can hear everything my neighbors are doing. There is absolutely nothing in walking distance, so you have to use a car to do anything. The area is right next to Route 1 and the entrance there always gets backed up so you're stuck in a traffic jam just to run errands. On the plus side, the rooms are spacious and the carpeting and central AC is nice.
I saw vacancies posted on websites like this and applied. Very quickly got a reply saying they have no vacancies. Surely they would refund the $40 application fee given they did not do a background check or anything, right? Nope. Perhaps it was just me being naive, but if they engage in ruthless practices such as this, I wouldn't count on getting your security deposit back. Get a written statement (i.e. email) saying vacancies are available, or look elsewhere.
This is my first rent of an apartment, and I have lived here for over two years. My experience is good. My refrigerator is broken and they replaced it directly. One issue is that the washing room is not well maintained. One of the dryers does not work well and is never fixed.
I moved here in 2015, and this was my first apartment that I had. I moved out in 2017 due to re-location of my job otherwise I would still be living here. 1 and 2 bedrooms are available, although most of the apartments are studios, so they'd be good for a young, single person. I barely heard my neighbors. Each building has a laundry & storage room. Best feature was every apartment has its own patio/balcony. Where else in the Princeton can you get that at these rental rates? Apartments were nice, quiet and the complex is in an extremely safe area. Beautiful state park across the street. Parking is not a problem, even for guests, and its free. Tiger Transit shuttle bus does stop at the complex, although I would recommend owning a car if you lived here. Its conveniently located - You're about 2 miles away from the center of Plainsboro. You're about 3-4 miles from the center of Princeton in one direction, and about 5 miles from the center of Kingston in the other direction. All 3 places have many different choices of stores & restaurants. Nothing within immediate walking distance except for 2 hotels, a Ruby Tuesday and a Sunoco gas station/convenience store. Only con I can really think of is that one time Mapleton Ave (which is the only access road to get to route 1) flooded during a heavy rain storm, but that happened one time in the 2 years I was there. It did not affect the apartment complex at all. Overall I would recommend these apartments.
