Privateer Place

Very GOOD so far. It is a short commute and has great maintenance. Great amenities and good staff. Parking is always available and great safety elements like gate and electric door lock.

Amazing staff and place to live with affordable rent for full time students in the New Orleans area! I can’t recommend this place enough!!!!

My studio is constantly needing repairs and there’s a mold issues, I’ve lived here for a long time and it’s always had issues but it’s on campus. The staff working at the club house is pretty nice, most of them are chill.

UNO Apartments offers a solid living experience with its spacious layouts and convenient amenities. The community vibe is generally positive, fostering a friendly atmosphere among residents. However, there are a few downsides worth noting. My kitchen was unclean upon move-in, which detracted from the overall impression of the apartment. Additionally, I’ve encountered issues with maintenance responsiveness. I submitted a request in September regarding some repairs, and as of now, it remains unaddressed. This slow response time can be frustrating, especially when urgent issues arise. While the location and amenities make it a desirable choice, potential renters should be aware of these cleanliness and maintenance concerns. Overall, UNO Apartments has a lot to offer, but improvements in these areas would greatly enhance the living experience.

Affordable housing nearby campus, restaurants, and job opportunities. The RAs are extremely helpful. Do wish the residents took more care in the appearance of the grounds, there’s always trash scattered

Mold grows on everything in my apartment and no one has helped or resolve my issue. Otherwise it is very quiet. There is a lot of events. The communication is very good as well.

It is very nice I would just say the power has went out a few times like two that I’ve noticed but they were spaced out, other than that it’s been a great experience

Honestly really nice place and so many things to do every week but the walls are too thin and can hear almost everything. People arguing, doors slamming, and being unable to play music because people complain.

Love it here! Great roommates and beautiful lake view. I love the events that privateer place offers for the residents. The privateer place help desk is also very helpful.

Good living experience, but needs utility and furniture upgrades. I also think coin machines should be in the laundry rooms. Lastly, their needs to be more study and lounge areas, indoor and outdoor.

The apartments are pretty nice but people leave trash all over. The RAs are pretty responsive whenever you need something. Most of the apartments have a balcony or a porch but mine got neither and my window faces right into a bunch of ac units :(

I like the views and different activities I can do while there. I spend time with my friends and can never go bored, everyone there is pretty friendly and nice.

It is an very good environment to live around, its so peaceful and so quiet in the area its clean and set up nice. Its worth staying at, the people are very friendly

When we all first moved in we had no AC, fridge was leaking, and bathroom sink was leaking. The maintenance guy came the second day and looked at our AC and told us that it was a bigger issue and that he will come back with an AC unit. He never came back with one and I went to the store and bought one because when I called the emergency number explaining that we had no AC and was wondering when they would install our AC unit they said “this phone number is for emergency only” and hung up. When I asked if I could be reimbursed for the AC unit they said that they won’t reimburse me since I took it upon myself to buy the AC unit. After 3 days we finally had our AC fixed. Took them 2 weeks to fix our sink and when the maintenance guy came look at our fridge he said”it just defrosting it should stop in a couple of days” it’s still “defrosting” and we got to constantly clean up the water which makes us have to do laundry more than usual. Also there is a constant smell of weed.

There are bugs that can be solved by spraying the inside and outside of the buildings. There are cracks in the foundation and some rooms need to be repainted the other gate should also be opened it’s an inconvenience to drive all the way around.

Neighbors are a little noisy but overall great community. I also love how events are hosted like football games on Sundays. I say the main thing that could make privateer place better is more dumpsters.

The location right next to UNO campus is super convenient; not to mention beautiful with lots of trees and other plantings, and the lake with its picturesque walkway right nearby. The apartment was clean and a/c was in great working order at move-in. Locking gate and student-only residences provide safety, as well as being right next to the campus police department. The pool is awesome, as well as the ability to ask an RA any questions you have. We are very happy with Privateer Place.

There’s a mold problem and you have to make lots of maintenance request because there’s an issue with these apartments. The price for on campus housing isn’t the worst but they don’t provide free internet like the dorms do.

Best community out there for college students!!! Plenty of fun activities and events going on within the school year! The RA’s are amazing people as well

I Love the community and the people, wish the single apartments weren't studio efficiency but otherwise it's great. Maintenance reviews reports in a timely manner and staff is very helpful for new and confused renters .

I really enjoy living in this apartment community! The amenities are fantastic, especially the pool, basketball court, and the serene lake. It's like having a vacation spot right at home. The management team is also very responsive and helpful. Overall, highly recommend!

There’s a lot you’ll have to do maintenance request for but it’s cheaper then a lot of places in New Orleans, the workers at the clubhouse are very nice

I love it here!! Plan on renewing for another year. The office staff here is great, and they put together great resident events as well! Definitely 5 stars!

It’s a quiet and calm community. Theres tons of fun events and the staff are helpful and kind. I enjoy the amenities, but i do wish there were doggie bag stations around

Very nice and good for students. Maintenance is good. Only downside is the walk to the laundry room. Good amount of parking. Overall pretty safe and gated.

My housing overall is great, but leaves do pile up near the door and don’t get removed quickly. Also, the washer and dryers are always dirty in the laundry room.

There’s ups and downs. The maintenance is quick to respond to requests but the amount of problems within the units cancels it out most times. It’s good for student housing though.

For the most part it has been an enjoyable experience living here, there has been minor issues like the sink issues or the bathroom fan not working for a bit but everything else has been pretty good.

My only issues are ever minor things and how inconvenient the system to pay rent is. Otherwise it’s a very beginner friendly apartment complex.

Decent, but some issues here and there. The apartments should come with curtains, the toilets are a little small, and the wifi is expensive.

It’s been great living here. I have a place of my own and it’s nice to come home and have a quiet time for myself. I would definitely recommend living here!

Everyone has been pretty nice and the only problems I had were solved in a timely manner. They spray for bugs, host events and get back to you quickly. I really love the staff.

So far everything has been very good staying here I have no complaints. The maintenance seems to respond fairly fast. And the worker in office are simply amazing.

The rent is high for the lack of service, the workers at the clubhouse are very sweet but the management can be somewhat rude, takes months to get a simple fix which causes more problems.

It very clean and they have people who work at night to help with anything. It a very safe environment and the police do ride around once or twice a night to make sure everything goods.

Everything that the RA’s and the staff control are wonderful, it’s really some of the residents that make it difficult sometimes. With noise and trash and dog waste.

There were a few bumps, but overall I had a great experience. Maintenance was very nice and understanding. The only issue I had was the move out process. Also paying to do laundry is a little pricey especially for college students.

This place is low of the low. You can find something better. Yes it may be cheap but it’s literally you get what you pay for. However if you do live here, make sure you get everything in writing.

Very kind to residents but can be slow with maintenance and upkeep. Newer buildings are nice but kind of cheap in spots around the apartment.

Living here was cool but we had issues. Our floor boards had water coming up from underneath. We called maintenance about 3 times before they came back with more trained employees to inspect our apartment. Our issue was that our AC unit was full of water from the higher floors (we live on the first floor). Apparently they left their AC switched to ON instead of AUTO so water built up and dripped all the way down and collected in our AC and floors. I feel like there should be a PSA to not leave the AC switched on to avoid flooding someone out like what happened to me.

Overall decent, however the appliances were worn and needed to be updated and/replaced. The layout was nice and the RA programs hosted were Vice and well thought out.

I had a great time here in my first apartment. I went to many of the events and I met new people and I had amazing food each time. I believe this is a great first apartment to have!

I have enjoyed my time at Privateer Place. It is a nice affordable college community filled with fun activities planned by the resident assistants. The maintenance staff is always nice and very prompt when you put in a request.

Honestly I felt like I was mislead by the website photos. In my kitchen none of the outlets work beside the ones connected to the fridge, dishwasher, and oven. There missing bathroom tiles, and when my apartment flooded, there was no follow up I could be breathing in toxic mold every day and I wont know until my health fails me. On the positive note the pool is always refreshing, that is when there are no floating bugs in it.

I love living close to and with my friends but also having my own space. The community is great. I love going into the clubhouse and being able to grab a little treat and a drink.

I have lived at Privateer place for 3 years. My begining was during covid so there was not a lot happening. Over time, we would have much more fun events that are engaging to the community. Additionally, the maintenance staff is very responsive. In previous years, I've been told this was not the case so well-done Privateer Place!

The move in for my daughter went extremely smooth. We had a small issue in the early afternoon. I reported it to the housing office, and it was taken care of the same day. I had another question the next day, and they were prepared to answer on the spot. Very pleased!

Calm surroundings, clean grounds, welcoming vibes

Never does maintenance on time, will fine you $ for employees faults, there was a hole in my floor from water damage from the AC for the first six months i lived there, my shower and toilet continuously have problems, there are roaches everywhere and my roommates and i keep it AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE, it says there is storage room on the website but that is FALSE. There are no other closets or storage besides the small closets in the bedrooms (which don’t even have doors by the way), it is really one of the worst places i have ever lived, do not let the oncampus conscience pull you in.... you will regret i
