San Ramon, less than an hour away from both Oakland and San Francisco, is a golfer’s paradise. There are a variety of options when it comes to choosing where you’d like to practice your golf swing, including the Bridges Golf Club, San Ramon Golf Club, and Canyon Lakes Golf Course and Brewery.
You don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy renting in San Ramon. The volunteer-run Forest Home Farms Historic Park is an effort committed to preserving history. You can view a slice of life from late 19th and early 20th centuries when you tour the farm and the Glass House Museum on site.
With more than 50 parks in the San Ramon city limits, it’s easy to find a place to delight in nature and partake in outdoor activities. Nearby Las Trampas Regional Wilderness is a massive park with extensive trail systems for hikers and horseback riders as well as prime bird and wildlife views. Head over to the Golden Skate, an all-ages roller rink, if you prefer to be active indoors.

Property Ratings at Promontory View
Very nice location. Most friendly staff. Any service request will be taken care max with in a day. Very secure for kids and families even to walk in the night.
We absolutely loved living here. The two ladies in the office are always SO helpful and ready to help you with anything you need and the maintenance guys are also very helpful and fix things quickly! We brought our 3 month old little guy here and as he got older he loved playing at the park they have for kids! This apartment community is very family oriented and there are always kids out playing or families on walks around the apartment loop after dinner. So happy with the time we spent here and loved our apartment! Would highly recommend to anyone :)
We are living here for the last more than 4 years and its great community. It location is very convenient to access safe way, cost co. No complains to say.
I have lived here for 4 years and it rocks - beautiful views, great facilities and excellent staff!!! Gated and the pool/hot tub rocks
Have been a resident for a year and I really like the place. Pros: 1)Great leasing office personnel. Extremely helpful 2)Beautiful views 3)Assigned covered parking 4)Gated community Con's 1)The area is elevated so it can get a little windy some times. Also generally a few degrees cooler.
Beautiful spacious apartments, great view specially from 3rd floors. Front office people are nice and helping and maintenance persons are prompt. Overall highly recommended place to be in San Ramon. Have been living here for more than a year now and loving it !!!
I've been living here for almost 6 months. I love everything about living here. Staffs are friendly, neighbors are nice, services are great. Very peaceful for living. I highly recommend this place.
This place is meowtastic! Located in safe & beautiful San Ramon. Staff here is friendly. Maintenance is excellent. Love it here
Ever since we moved in, we have been thoroughly pleased with this complex. The staff is helpful, the tenants are clean and friendly. It's a safe complex for families.
I was referred to Promontory View by a office colleague and am glad to say that I could not have found a better accommodation in San Ramon. I have been living here for close to 1 year now and have already requested to extend my lease by another 12 months. The place is nice and safe for families. The staff if very friendly and they are very prompt with any maintenance related work if needed for the apartment. I have been recommending my colleagues and friends to stay at Promontory View.
We've been renting from Promontory View for 3 years. The location is nice, easy to access the highway and Downtown Danville. The leasing agents and maintenance crew are very nice and helpful. It's also nice to have the pool/workout facility. However, there are also downsides...our appliances are definitely on the older side, and the outer gate could be more secure. Also there has been significant dust and noise from the Faria Preserve construction project next door - which is a bummer because it ruins some of the views. Luckily it seems to have slowed in recent weeks. -LK
It will be 1 year that I have been living at Promontory View and I love it. The staff are always very helpful and friendly.
Great apartments in a beautiful location. The grounds are well maintained and the leasing and maintenance staff are very friendly. The apartments are spacious and the views are amazing!
Overall:Noise:Maintenance:Safety:Neighborhood:Grounds:Office Staff: I have been a resident here for almost a year. The complex looks great from an initial observance. There are appox. 400 units. Nice community pool / spa, and a decent exercise room for all to use. The location is very convenient to all of the local services and the freeway. The units are a decent size and have respectable balconies. The units also have a washer and dryer with the unit. The leasing agents were very nice and helpful. But, you should never lose sight of the fact that they are nice to you because they want to get that lease signed. A few promises were made to me when I moved in, which were ignored post move in. The main issue being the flooring. My carpet was and is in very poor condition (stained and worn beyond normal), and kitchen flooring was never finished, so it is curling up all around the perimeter. When I initially viewed the apartment unit, I told the leasing agent that the carpet will have to be replaced and flooring fixed. She smiled and said "oh yes, we can work on that once you are in". . . BIG mistake. . . Post move in, I was then told, "oh, we are NOT going to do that"... Furthermore, all of my emails and attempts to discuss with the office staff are ignored. They act as if we have never had the discussion, and since then, all of the leasing staff has changed. So, I am stuck with stained, unravelling carpet and a kitchen flooring that is curling up around the edges. That is not acceptable. I ended up purchasing floor rugs to cover the unsightly carpet. In getting to know my neighbors, it is clear that the management is completely non-responsive once you get moved in. The complex facility maintenance crew are great, but clearly limited by what the management allows them to do. The outdoor "safety" walkway lighting is not maintained, so you have to walk through some very dark areas (and dark stairs) at night. Some very important issues to take note of: 1. Security here is superficial. There is an entrance gate. But they are open all day, and when they are closed in the evening, people just sit at the gate until another vehicle comes in. I have personally experienced packages being stolen from my doorstep (the office refuses to accept deliveries). There have been numerous break ins, and vehicles damaged. There are no security cameras. I have stopped 'tailgaters' at the gate and was almost accosted by one very belligerent person. So, take the security here
I enjoyed living here, rent has continued to escalate each of the last three years. Rent includes no utilities, so keep that in mind if you think rent is lower than another place you are considering. Additionally , many residents are short term renters and therefore not invEstes in the community. Beyond this trash constantly over flows because it is only dumped twice each week and is inadequate for the number of residents . The land lords are certainly not concerned at maintaining a strong base of long term leasees.
I stayed at the promotory for about weeks. I enjoyed the view from the third floor, particularly from the third floor. The work out area and pool areas were excellent. All the reidence were friendly and nice. It did seem kind of sterile because of all the concrete and asphalt. It was an excellent stay and fit my need for the 6 weeks.
