Property Ratings at Province Hill
I have enjoyed living here for the last year, but I am moving out due to a YEAR long construction project (new school being built) literally next door. A lot of the trees were already cut down. Staff is pretty neutral- they will not go out of their way to be flexible, but they are cordial. Maintenance requests get taken care of quickly, and we had mostly minor issues. The pool and clubhouse are super nice. My 2 bedroom is huge and definitely worth the price. If you do not have an anxious pet and do not mind construction all day (they start at 7 am) for the next year, it is a good place to live. Lots of small dogs and older people; very few people in their 20s/30s.
It is like living in the country. Everything is a 2-5 minute drive. Allie, Ruth, Kelly, and Casey are very helpful and the buildings and grounds are clean. I am never moving!
The apartments are set in the woods, you would never know that you are in the city. The apartments themselves are very spacious some with fireplaces. The office staff and the maintenance are WONDERFUL any problems they are right on top of it. Beautiful swimming pool, firepit, fireplace and a gourmet kitchen Feels like a resort. The staff also throws several parties a year. They are also very giving to the community, toys for tots and second harvest food bank.
This apartment has it all, every amenity and so close to everything on Madison's west side. The clubhouse, pool, and workout room are great. The staff is friendly and helpful and recently a beautiful firepit/social area was added! This is truly a place to call home !!!!
I currently live in a 2 bed with a loft. The complex as a whole is very clean and filled with nice people. The apartment I am in is both spacious and kept in a like-new state. I like the While the rent is higher than average for a 2 bedroom, I think it is worth the price. Additionally, there are many amenities in the club house, such as a pool, gym, billiards room, and party room, that is included in the price. Lastly, I feel that the complex is well located. While it is not directly around anything in particular, allowing for a peaceful immediate area, it is also within a short drive to commercial locations, such as restaurants and shopping locations!
This community is so wonderful, I don't even know where to begin. The apartments are beautiful: spacious with interesting floor plans, screened in porches, and beautiful views. The staff made my husband and I feel like we were family. Every maintenance issue was addressed without delay. The exercise facilities and the pool are awesome amenities that we used all the time. The clubhouse is beautiful, too; we had our wedding reception there as well as a baby shower. The neighbors are friendly and comprise a variety of age groups. We will miss Province Hill and the wonderful people there.
We have lived at Province Hill for 5 years and found it to be a very enjoyable place to live. The office staff is very helpful and the maintenance is perfect. I will have to say that our Resident Manager leaves a lot to be desired. This is an "A" rated apartment complex, but they do not keep our building looking like that. As far as noise, we have very little noise, the location is perfect. We are close to West Town, grocery stores and pharmacies. This is only the second time in our 59 years that we have lived in rental, and I have to say this is the best. If anyone is having a problem, just go over to the office and they will do all they can to try and take care of it. I would just have to say that if I wanted anything changed, it would be the Resident Manager. I think we all have to remember this is our home, and we must treat it that way. Do things the same way you would do in your own home.
I have just moved in, not unpacked yet. So far the staff have been so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I look forward to using and enjoying all the amenities soon. They look well maintained. I have a lofted privacy view apartment, I love it! It feels so much like a house. Kudos on the garbage/ recycling separation.
Lovely grounds, Friendly staff, pet friendly. Beautiful bright apts.
i've lived here for just over two years - location is close to work. it's also close to shopping, the beltline, the trail system, the park. central air makes it comfortable in both winter and summer. trash and recycling right outside my door are super convenient. underground parking and ample storage give enough room for my bike workshop. my cat loves the four-seasons room. the staff are super friendly and very accessible. landscaping and snow removal are well done, and the contractors hardly noticeable. maintenance is always responsive and gets the job done right the first time. what could be better? not much. i wish there was more than a single electrical outlet in my bathroom and laundry room (combined). i also wish there was a heating vent in the bathroom, but a space heater will suffice to keep it toasty in winter. every year i think about leaving for someplace closer to the center of town, but it's sooooo comfortable and you never know what you'll get somewhere else.
I've lived in a lot of nice places, but this one absolutely takes the cake. Landscaping is obviously a priority and it shows, all of the grass and bushes are immaculate. It makes you glad to tell people where you live! When you get to the clubhouse and see the pool, workout room, tanning bed, pool table, community room, hot tub, hair stylist, and even masseuse... You'll wonder how you lived elsewhere! It'a all legit too, it's not one of those places that shows a lot of stuff but it is all cheap or run down. Everything is top of the line and well maintained. There are plenty of pets and I have had nothing but great experiences with all of them, including my own. Nobody ever leaves a "mess" in the grass and everyone is pretty friendly with each other in general. It is a little bit off the beaten path which I love, but also comes back to bite me at times. However, it really isn't that far away from the highway. If you are considering living here do it, you will not be disappointed. I know I am not.
The apartments are very spacious. Great size bedrooms, bathrooms, living room. We love our enclosed sun porch and it gives us wonderful extra space. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. However, there is no large flat surface for children to play, the play area is muddy and not very well kept. The walls are very thin and we hear way to much of the neighbors then I wish to. When addressed with the office staff, nothing was done about it. They seem to want to be everyone's friend and chime on when things need to be addressed. For what we pay to live here I feel this is there job. The pool is amazing.the work room is awesome. Business center is great. And the tanning bed is a nice way to relax! It's a pet friendly community. However, guidelines don't seem to be followed: I have seen many dogs over 30lbs here and if you don't mind dog feces and urine spots on the lawn this will work for you. There never seems to be enough parking either. The kitchen. Is very nice and easy to cook in. Could have better appliances. Not fancy about white cupboards. Refrigerators that are bigger and have nicer ice machines with filters better dish washers too. It'd be nice to have energy and water efficient laundry machines too. Great transition home but improvements could be made to make the rent worth it a bit more.

Thank you so very much for sharing your comments about the Province Hill Apartment Community. We would like to address a couple of your points but we would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss some of your concerns. Please call or email us at your convenience. Regarding the play area, bark has been scheduled to be added, unfortunately the contractors are running a tad behind. In reference to dogs, we would like to clarify that we do strictly enforce the 35lb weight limit. You may seem some larger dogs; they may either be visiting or they maybe service/companion animals. We look forward to hearing from you soon, The Province Hill Team Terri..Faith..Leanne..Connie..Bob
As a resident of Province Hill for nearly 9 years, I can honestly say this apartment complex became more than just a place to live, it became my home. This is in doubt thanks to the beautiful surrounding landscape, the hardworking and courteous staff, and the convenient location. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone in the area looking for the best of both worlds. With grocery stores, gas stations, West Town Mall, and various business parks minutes away, it is a great place to be! Even better? It is located in the middle of a beautiful and peaceful setting that seems like an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The apartments themselves are beautiful and I rarely could hear neighbors or outside noise disturbances. This truly is a great place to live!

I have only been living here for a little over a month, and I can already tell you that I will want to live here for years and years! Honesty, hands down, the best apartment I could ask for. The amenities (pool, workout facility, hot tub, salon, etc) are a huge perk, but the rooms are very spacious and well maintained. My boyfriend and I saw this apartment last July and wanted to get on the waiting list right away. Less than a year later, we finally were able to get a one bedroom apartment and we couldn't be happier! A one bedroom is more than enough space for us, and our apartment faces the beautiful conservatory. Very private, quiet, and all in all, a place I always want to call "home." The office staff is by far the most caring, loving, and considerate people I've ever met. Ever since the first day we moved in, we were always greeted with a smile, and they will go above and beyond to help out with anything and make you feel at home. I can go on and on about this apartment - it's wonderful and I never want to leave! :)

Thank you, we're pleased to know that you and your family are happy here at Province Hill. Can't believe it's been 8 years!
There are certainly better options in this area for a more peaceful living experience at a better value. The buildings and amenities are aging and not updated. The indoor hot tub is too strong with chemicals, parking is an issue, and it seems there is an awful lot of office staffers on site compared to what may be really necessary. Be careful to get all promises in writing or you will be disappointed. All of the staff is quick to be kind and wants to be liked but is often unhelpful. If you have never lived in a rental with staff on site, be aware of the downsides to that. There will be lots of communications on rules, policies, and complaints from management. We note that many of our neighbors are also dissatisfied with the policies that come as a price of living here, and we do not plan to renew since we've repeatedly communicated all of our issues directly without resolution. Just be careful to check other options in the area where you can find a more peaceful community with a lot less bother. As in any apartment complex, you will hear the noises of your neighbors. Consider barking dogs, kids in the swimming pool, and neighbors who stay up late doing laundry and banging doors. Ask to talk to actual current residents before making your final decision.

We're sorry to hear that your disappointed about our apartment community and service. We would truly like the opportunity to discuss the concerns you've addressed in this posting. Thank you.
Being a city girl, I was a little hesitant to move to an apartment complex out in the suburbs of Madison. Turns out, I couldn't have made a better choice. I've thoroughly enjoyed the past three years living at Province Hill and found the staff and tenants are kind, warm, and welcoming. Everything is well maintained – the grounds, amenities, common space, community grills, etc. Maintenance requests were filled immediately. The staff is so friendly – it amazed me that all of them seemed to know every tenant by name! I will certainly miss living there, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a fine place to live.

Thank you for the kind words Mary, we so enjoyed having you and miss you too If you're ever in the neighborhood please stop in & let us know how you're doing.! We wish you nothing but the very best.
When our home sold sooner than we expected, we needed to move quickly. We subleted a lovely apartment at Province Hill, fully intending to move in a year. But we have loved it so much, we are still here 3 years later and see no move in our future. First and foremost is the fantastic staff. Always willing to help and do whatever they can to help you. When my washer overflowed once, not only did maintenance come right away...he cleaned up all the water and apologized for not being able to replace it for 3 hours! ( he was repairing a fireplace at the time) Second are the amenities. We have always entertained a great deal and worried about that in our smaller place, but we have had MANY parties, large and small in the quite lovely clubhouse. Easy to reserve for a private party. Our family and friends love it, in fact girlfriends have suggested we have parties "at my house" and that is easy. My husband loves the beautiful pool and so does our two grandsons. I love going down to use my car in this cold weather, as it is in our heated garage. No warming it up...start and go. BTW they take excellent care of the lovely grounds and driveways...snow removal is fast and effecient. My heart patient husband now sits on our sun porch reading while professionals remove snow and mow lawns and plant flowers. I would also like to mention how clean our building manager keeps ALL of our building, top to garage. We do love living here at Province Hill and instead of a Condo Board we have a lovely accommodating staff.

Marti, We are so happy that you love your home and that you will be with us for another year!
Province hill is a great place to live. Pretty, close to many things, quiet and comfortable. The staff is great and we have never had any problems with our apartment or neighbors. We have even met some good friends living here. Thanks province hill!

Thank you for your kind words, it makes us feel so good to hear that you like your home & are happy with the staff! Good to hear that you've made friends too!!
I have lived in this apartment for almost a year, now and I love it! The staff is very nice (which is hard to find in apartments in Madison). The apartment is pricy, but after the terrible experience I had at my last apartment, this is worth every penny. I have a 4 season porch and there is a waterfall in the pool. They painted an accent wall in my color of choice. My appliances are all new and the apartment was beautiful and clean when I moved in. My only complaint is that you can hear people in other apartments more than other places I have lived. I have been woken up by the sound of footsteps above me or a toilet flushing next door. All-in-all it doesn't bother me too often, though.
