The city leadership in Wilkes-Barre has worked hard to promote a “walk-to-everything” lifestyle, with a general layout that is very friendly to pedestrians. This is particularly noticeable around the downtown area, where apartments, businesses, and public parks are all easily accessible on foot.
Just behind King’s College, River Common offers walking trails, a boat launch, an amphitheater, and plenty of space to just relax and enjoy a view of the Susquehanna River. The Public Square serves as the venue for outdoor events throughout the year, from the weekly farmer’s market to the annual Fine Arts Fiesta. Mohegan Sun Arena hosts larger sports and entertainment events regularly.
The ski areas and state parks surrounding Wilkes-Barre are very popular with tourists, and residents get to enjoy full access to these natural attractions year-round.

Property Ratings at Provincial Towers
This property is 54 years old and you wouldn't know it. There are 7 different size apartments in the bulding so there is something that will suit your needs. They just had 2 brand new elevators installed during 2021 and 2022, a fitness center on the 1st floor for resident use, and a laundry room on every floor with brand new card operated washers and dryers installed in 2023 so you done even have to leave your floor with the laundry. Very accomodating staff , and work request get done as soon as possible. Some of the current residents have been living here for 20-30 + years. If you are looking for your new home you should check this property out as an option..
This building is not like the pictures at all. It has been slowly falling apart from the top to bottom! Everything is aging and is not repaired to last a long time. Every month is a new problem. The owner doesn't care about the condition of this building he is from out of town. You can't get in touch with him. When he comes in on rent time he won't speak to anyone just gets the money and gets out. Office staff is very hard to get in touch. Office always locked with shades closed all day. Garage is filthy and not all residents have a parking space you have to go on a list. Elevators are always breaking down usually there is only 1 available this is used for all floors some people actually had to have the fire department come and take her to the 11th floor she was in a wheelchair. Alot of people in wheelchair and walkers get stuck because the elevators are down. So far there has only been 1 working since October. People moving in have to use the same elevators to move in or out which this holds up residents. They should have a service elevator for that. Washers and dryers are always breaking down and they tell you to use ones on other floors? It is very difficult for someone who is in a wheelchair or walkers yet they raised the prices to use them! They are always shutting off everyone's water or heat Everything when it rains buckets can be seen throughout the building. The maintenance people are not licensed plummers, electricians, most stuff to be fixed is shotty work. Now there are alot of safety issues. People are coming into the building at night to sleep and get warm causing damage and harassing the residents. No security. If this building was kept up the right way and cleaned up. Right work should be done by qualified licensed staff maybe the high rent you pay would be worth it but thats not the case here. So I caution anyone who might want to check out this building to live. Take a tour look around and see for yourself. Good luck!!
Its a nice place to live, great and safe parking, you can see the whole city from your back, Balcony sound safe walls. Easy to go to work or get on a bus. A friendly staff on site. Nice living
