Old Town Lansing, the city’s original downtown district, dates back to 1843 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Old Town overlooks the Grand River and its popular bike trail. Apartments and townhouses make up the majority of the rental properties in this area, with many shops and restaurants within walking distance.
This bike-friendly neighborhood is known for its thriving local businesses, where you’ll find boutique shops, thrift stores, and delicious eateries like the Creole Burger Bar & Southern Kitchen. Nearby in the heart of Lansing, you’ll find the Michigan State Capitol and an array of local restaurants, shops, and breweries.

Property Ratings at Prudden Place
On first impressions, the apartments are spacious and comfortable. However, every major appliance will probably break within the first year, and that can take days, if not weeks, to be addressed. The apartment above ours had a damaged water heater that was leaking into our living room for 2+ weeks. A maintenance worker informed me this was normal because every appliance in the building is a discontinued model bought at highly discounted rates. Replacement parts are no longer manufactured, so they're stuck trying to find spares on eBay. The only solution they offered us during that time was an industrial fan to dry the carpet. Prudden Place is one of the less expensive Gillespie properties, so it's clearly not a priority for management.
You will have the best of both worlds in a luxurious loft apartment. Love the magical view of the city skyline through the windows and the sound of the whistling trains that bring a taste of the country creating a harmonious element of beauty, joy, and peace. It offers the elements of relaxation and tranquility. The staff is extremely accommodating and courteous. Conveniently located for shopping and restaurants. Join the Prudden Place family, you'll be glad you did! Ms. Bonita, Lansing, MI
