Property Ratings at Elevate @ South Mountain
They will over charge for your 1st months rent, won’t fix ac, change name and payment options without further notice and make you pay OVERCHARGED late fees
I'm new to Phoenix. I applied, got accepted, paid my fees and signed my new lease, ALL from my laptop! The office staff was super friendly and welcoming when I picked up my keys. I feel very welcome.
I first moved in September and it’s was nothing but a lot of dead roaches under my fridge, a piece from tub fell off first day and on top of they I had to sign multiple renters agreement papers with a different management group because they couldn’t get there way of paying rent there to work…the pool is nasty, people sleeping inside the laundry room…didn’t have a/c until I left two days into my lease..don’t do it
We travelled all the way across the country just to find out that the lease we signed prior to arriving was already broken by Urban Communites when we got here. The lease we signed stated that electricity was included, but it was not for the first few months that we lived here. We had to set up our own prepaid electricity for months. When they finally decided to switch all of the power over we had to go to the slummiest hotel they could find. On the day it was supposed to be completed (this was a record setting heat day with temperatures at 114 degrees) my 2 year old son and I sat in an apartment with no electricity, no ac, no water… for 7 hours before being told we had to go back to the hotel because it wasn’t going to be finished. My baby was so hot that I had to put him in and out of the filthy pool (that is now shut down by the Maricopa County Environmental Services) just to try and cool him down. That wasn’t enough, so I had to go around to other people’s apartments that still had power to get cold bottles of water to pour on my child. My son was taken to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital for heat exhaustion as a result of this. Less than a week later, our neighbors apartment flooded into ours. Maintenance came in the middle of the night, took something from under the sink, and said that they would be back the next day to fix the damage from the flooding. They never came back. We then submitted a request that now says the work was completed, it never was. We have been living with mold under the kitchen sink this whole time. It doesn’t stop here!!!! Shortly after this our car was broken into by the homeless junkies that roam the parking lot and sleep in the laundry room because none of the gates here work. Our identities were stolen and we’ve had to pay thousands for credit repair companies and identify theft protection. Our wallets were stolen, my sons car seat, and the entire center console from our car. We never found out who did it because when we went to the office to ask for the camera footage…. we found out the camera do not even work! We were fooled into thinking this was a gated community protected by video surveillance, and none of that was true. Our car has been broken into and damaged two more times after this. But wait…. there’s more!!! We never had our central heat and air installed, couldn’t figure out why… Urban Communites would not pay the company that did half of the apartments already.
Quite possibly the worse management team you could think of they aren’t responsive to any of the tenants they don’t answer the office phones and when you ask them to fix things in the apartment they put in a request and nothing gets done if your thinking about living here or renting a unit it’s not at all worth it unless u like leaking pipes u have to fix ur self the ac units they say are in the units haven’t been installed yet so it’s hot as hell at night because there’s no vents in your room just 1 window ac that sits in the wall in the hall way from the bathroom to the living room. My current issue with the place is they have charged me 3 separate times for water filters that I’ve never had changed keep ur money and go some where better cause this ain’t it
It’s horrible! The assistant Maria has been so unprofessional not only to myself but to other residents. I’m mad i signed a year lease I wish I would’ve never moved here! Don’t move here the people in the office do not care ..
I am very unhappy with the living situation at these apartments and it’s only gotten worse. I still haven’t received a filter for my A/C that I asked for back in March. I’ve been without doors for my pantry for months now due to “construction” for a central A/C that still hasn’t been completed. Which by the way, one of the construction workers cut my internet cable and I didn’t have internet at home for almost three weeks during QUARANTINE. I had to call Cox myself and go through five different technicians before the last one informed me what the leasing office was covering up. The main gate has been opened 24/7 for at least two months regardless of the fact that there’s homelessness and drug issues in this area. The noise from the upstairs neighbors is unbearable (early mornings and late nights) and people stay in the pool past 11pm almost every night. Not to mention how disgusting the common grounds are filled with trash and construction materials. There’s an infestation of roaches in my apartment (which is obviously because of how awful the environment is) that I have been addressing myself because I don’t trust any of the maintenance staff to come into my space unaccompanied because I’ve seen too many come and go. Even the parking lot stinks of dead rats and trash because the dumpster stays wide open plus overflowed. Also, management has changed twice since January 2020 and they’re careless. Needless to say, it’s become hazardous to live at Urban 128 and I will be prematurely ending my lease. Don’t even think of coming here unless you’d like to live in a hot, infested and questionable storage unit. UPDATE: Now there’s a whole wall missing in the main parking lot so now there’s TWO ways to access the building. The gates for the actually building are always open as well and doesn’t require a key fob. The laundry room took four months to renovate January-April so I had to take my laundry to a laundry mat even though it was listed as an amenity. The pool is always disgusting too. I wouldn’t even dip my feet in it.
I love my new home! My unit is so cute! I love the color schemes inside and out. The ladies in the office are awesome, and have been so accommodating. I can’t wait until the yoga deck and community garden are up. I love how secured it is too with the gates. Seriously worth it!!
It was about time someone get in here and did something. Lots of upgrades and improvements with the new management. Still a way to go but at least better than where it was. Ive been here many years thru a few managers and owners with no lasting results so I hope this one lasts. Im looking forward to transferring into a renovated unit. The prices have gone up but are still affordable. The girls in the office are so nice and have done a lot to quiet this place down. I hope to be here years to come
We have a new manager on office named Trina she replaced Reymundo. Things have been getting way better since Trina took over. We now have the option of getting Cox at a lower price in our apartment, the porches have been repaired and replaced. There is no more dog poop all over the ground out side. The trash is no longer over flowing. People are not hanging out side their units, yelling, drug dealing etc. All units have been bombed so no more roaches, bugs, etc. Tenants who used to blast music, cause problems etc have been evicted. The Gates on the apartment buildings keep people out who don't love here. The laundry rooms are always clean. The pools have been repaired, cleaned and look great and are ready for use. I am very happy here with Trina as the manager she is the best any issues I have had she has corrected and fixed them. I love living here at Puesta Del Sol !
Rent is cheap here, they try with the updated appliances, new counter tops, and new toliet, but the low lifes, drug dealers, and junkies just suck the life out of this place. The office staff are a joke and the people here smoke lots of pot, hang out, have loud arguements and the environment is crap. Living here is like living in a motel. I have a one bedroom and its tiny not worth the money at all.
Getto nothing but trash . drug deals daily & the new management & her employee is just rude. Bed bug & roach invested . not recommended
Property Manager at Elevate @ South Mountain, Responded To This Review
Good afternoon sorry for the experience you had here, but unfortunately we don't we don't have a bedbug or roach infestation..
STAY AWAY...I WAS GIVEN A BEDBUG INFESTED UNIT AND MOVED OUT AFTER TWO MONTHS WITH BITES ON BOTH ARMS. NEVER GOT REFUNDED FOR TWO MONTHS RENT. TURNING IN THIS PROPERTY NOW....ON GOING INVESTIGATION!!!! ZERO STARS NOT POSSIBLE
Units are really nice, even the ones without the full remodel, and for that price you really can't beat it. That's what initially got me interested in renting here. The main issue i have is with the thin walls, I can hear my neighbors fighting constantly, I can hear their TVs, their music and it affects the vibe in my unit. My neighbor next door says he can hear entire conversations coming from our apartment when we are just talking over dinner. Neighbors are cool for the most part, some of the tenants that have lived here since before the remodels and new management are definitely a little on the shady side and hang out in the courtyard asking for handouts. The kids that live here don't really seem to have anybody watching them, some will actually walk into your apartment looking for someone to hang out with. Its innocent, but strange none the less. The office will tell you they have free wifi in unit but that is not true, even some of the units right above or next to the office wifi router don't get a signal until they step out of their front door. If you happen to get wifi, don't let anyone know, neighbors will come knocking on your door trying to get the password from you. Kitchen is very small but with a little bit of rearranging you can make it comfortable to cook in. The office staff is friendly and helpful, the maintenance guys are also super cool. You can tell the office wants young couples, first time renters, students and young professionals living there to keep the peace, especially with walls being as thin as they are. I think in a couple of years this will be a much better, quieter place to rent. Overall, if this is your price range, you can't really get a whole lot better than Calle Central.
