Downtown Indianapolis is a true marvel of American urban design, and is rightly recognized as one of the stylistic gems of the Midwest. The grand architecture of the various government buildings and museums ranges from neoclassical to ultra-modern, creating a timeless and visually stunning environment. Huge monuments and war memorials punctuate the landscape as well – in fact, Indianapolis has more such public tributes than any city in America apart from Washington, DC.
Downtown features a thriving nightlife scene, mainly along Meridian Street and Massachusetts Avenue and incorporating an immense selection of bars, clubs, and live music venues for every taste. The dining is unbeatable, with world-class restaurants of every description within a short walk from anywhere and the popular Food Truck Fridays delivering more eclectic fare during the summer months.

Property Ratings at Pulliam Square
I would not recommend this complex at all… especially living on the first floor. First of all, the reason I am moving out of this building is because I was essentially forced to for no reason other than greed. My current lease is ending soon and I was told that in order to renew, I’d have to pay over $200/month MORE than what I have been currently paying. Unable to do that because the cost of rent (and parking, and utilities) is high already, I emailed back asking if there was anyway to keep rent the same. I was denied my request with absolutely no reason given. That situation was upsetting enough because the stress and COST of moving is so high, but to make matters worse, I’ve been watching the price they are listing my apartment for, and it’s dropped to $160/month LESS than what I’m paying. Instead of keeping me as a tenant and keeping my rent the same, they decided to screw me over by making me move out (which again… is expensive) only to realize they can’t rent the unit out for what they thought they could. I have now had to spend additional cost on movers, deposits, overlapping rent and utilities when I had no intention of doing so in the first place. Please know if you plan to live here, they do not care about you as a person at all. The noise around this building is absurd. Not once did I hear my neighbors, however the noise from the bar, construction, and trash pick up was unbearably loud. What was strange was the difference in noise level between the bedroom and living room. I could barely hear the outside noise from the living room but constantly worried that my bedroom windows were open. I ended up moving my bed from the bedroom to the living room so I could sleep through the night… Parking is quite expensive ($150/month) and the garage is not convenient or SAFE when you live on the first floor. Often times homeless people are found sleeping in the garage or stalking the alleyway between the complex and the garage. I had a man who clearly did not live in the building start to sprint towards me to try to get into the building after me. Thankfully I was able to get the door closed or who knows what might have happened. To combat this if you’re living on the first floor, you have to go down the hall, up to another floor, down the hall again, into the garage, and go to the floor of the parking garage your car is parked at. Which is fine… just inconvenient.

I moved into Pulliam back in December and can say, without question, that I have had a stellar experience! My unit is gorgeous -- I love the state-of-the-art appliances and the fact that it's brand new! And the location? You can't beat living right above Mass Ave! To quickly brag about the management team... these guys are here on site every single day, and have gone out of their way on multiple occasions to ensure that I have a great experience as a tenant. Needless to say, I have really appreciated it. I've lived in many other apartment buildings over the years and have had to deal with my fair share of lazy, irresponsible management teams, superintendents, etc. I was completely taken aback when I moved to Pulliam by how professional and "on top of things" the team here is in comparison to my past experiences. Additionally, all of the other tenants I've encountered have been pleasant to interact with and get to know. To sum it up, I couldn't be happier having chosen Pulliam Square as my home here in beautiful Downtown Indy!
