Bear Creek is an upscale suburban neighborhood about three miles northeast of Downtown Redmond. Rentals in this area range from cozy single-family houses to sleek luxury apartments. Bear Creek is family-friendly with excellent schools and day centers nearby. The area is a great choice for renters who want an easier commute since Bear Creek is proximal to both Downtown Redmond and Seattle and houses several companies like Microsoft. Similar to many Washington locals, Bear Creek residents enjoy spending their time outdoors and love having easy access to several lush green spaces like Perriogo Park on the western edge of the neighborhood. Once you move into your new Bear Creek rental, head a few miles south and to Marymoor Park, a 684-acre natural area with excellent facilities and a popular spot for concerts, food trucks, beer festivals, and other social gatherings.

Property Ratings at Pure Redmond
Management, using that term loosely, will never resolve issues or respond to inquiries in a timely manner. They are an unmanned property with no direct phone number or email for residents to reach an actual named person on their team. They provide only a general number to a voicemail that is not monitored or an email alias that you may or may not hear back from, never same day if replied. If someone does reply via email, they have no email signature that includes an actual person’s name. I’ve never seen this in the professional world. Completely unprofessional and incompetent. Their competition in the area provides more value for the same price. They have a this rating for a reason.
Property Manager at Pure Redmond, Responded To This Review
Hello Megan, I attempted to reach out to you by phone but was unsuccessful. Management is present at the property on a weekly basis and we are always available to meet in person by appointment. I am hoping we can connect in person this week, so we can discuss your concerns. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience @jharrison@essex.com with a day and time that will work best for you. – Jessica Harrison, General Community Manager
While living in this property for two years the experience I had after moving out was unnecessary. I had to communicate with multiple people to get two different outcomes with information about charges, what came out of my security deposit etc. from my move out statement. The communication between the property manager and the past resident team never aligned. If you are thinking of living here or are currently living here be prepared to ensure you ask many follow questions and potentially speak with multiple people. I would not recommend living at any of the Essex Properties as they are what they are a large property management company and you are just a resident.
The units are pretty, the floor plans are decent, the units with windows facing the parking lot can see a nice view of protected land. The rent is a little high but everything in the area is. The management is consistently late and unreachable: there was no cleaning or follow up between tenants (there was leftover cereal and stains in the drawers, scratched floors). All office management is remote, only the maintenance staff is on site (maintenance team works hard and they are prompt & thorough). The hours available to call are a myth, it doesn't matter what time of day you call you will most likely not get through. The only times they were prompt to return a voice-mail were when I mentioned breaking the lease, all other days or attempts were met with an email apologizing for missing the call. The forms to indicate problems with the unit that were supposed to be provided at date of move in were 3 days late after reminding them every day. There is a transfer process for other properties managed by this company - don't do it, you will pay rent for both units then maybe get reimbursed later. Tour detail emails were full of errors. I got roped in and wish I had looked more thoroughly earlier. Leaving would cost much more, so this is the hill I will die on. Pay the rent and just hope you never need management help for anything.
Next to super loud road, if you dont live on the top floor you can hear everyfootstep of your upstairs neighbor. Kitchen vents are poorly designed - you can smell other people's food. The dog area is tiny and poorly drained. Car got robbed in the gated garage under a camera and management did nothing. Garage floods when it rains. Current management is disrespectful. We got what we paid for, that's for sure.
The rent is over market rate and especially for the quality of the building. Only reason I moved in was the two free months rent. I now see why there was free rent given, the elevator has not worked for 2 months, the trash room is a dump, animals poop in the building and there is a lack of response from management. DO NOT RENT HERE, I am telling you!
Absolutely not soundproof building, whether that's from the traffic noises outside or your neighbors. The quality of construction is shoddy as well, and things are falling apart even though this is a new building. The building manager has changed, and each time, it gets worse. Used to be Heather and she was awesome, then the manager threw away people's door mats, then limited the resident lounge use hours, and charges high costs to use the lounge. The amenities are free at most other apartments, since that's thought to be included in the rent. Parking is useless for garage. They say that they have a service that checks, but people park terribly, and many people without stickers park in the garage as well, which means if you get home after 9pm there are really no spots left
I moved into Pure in September 2017 and I absolutely LOVE it here! I had taken my first tour of the property when I was hired to work in the leasing office back in June. That was my first time touring such a nice, new community. What really stood out to me before I was even hired, is that everything feels very clean, fresh and new. Great first impression. I hit it off with the property manager, Heather, right away. She's such a sweet gal and really cares about her employees (including myself) and her residents. I feel the same way. :) Pure feels more like family than anything else. After working in the office for three months, I was able to move into my own apartment at Pure. I feel so fortunate because it would have never been possible for me (price wise) without the job I have now. When I moved in, a couple of other residents helped me move my furniture upstairs which was really nice! It seems like everyone here is willing to help each other out when needed. I live in one of our studios which is 578sq ft. My favorite thing about the studio floorplan is that the sleeping area feels completely separate from the living room but I don't have to pay the one bedroom price tag. I have a full sliding door and a cutout on the wall near the ceiling that allows light from my living room windows to shine into my room. I chose the studio because the price is right and it feels like the perfect amount of space for one person. The finishes are very high end. All of the apartments have hard surface floors, white molding, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. There's also ample cabinet/closet space compared to some other apartments I've seen. I live on the street side (south) and although Pure is located on busy NE Union Hill Road, it quiets down at night and I'm always able to sleep. Southern exposure also makes for great natural light during the day! Pure is located at the end of 520 which is convenient for anyone who needs to commute to I-405 and other parts of the Eastside or Seattle. There's a Target and Fred Meyer just a couple blocks away. If you drive or walk about a mile, you'll reach dozens of shops and restaurants in Downtown Redmond and the Town Center. Costco is also less than two miles away. If you're looking to move into a community that feels clean, friendly and inviting, you should consider Pure! We truly care about our residents and will do our best to make your experience here a positive one. -Shawna
Pure apartments are conveniently located, very safe, and a luxurious atmosphere to reside in. The amenities are outstanding. The residents lounge is a super swanky hang out area -includes a huge kitchen/bar area, pool table, fireplace, and flat screen tv. They also have a work-out room that is top notch. The rooftop area is my favorite thing about Pure. They really went above and beyond to create a gorgeous party area/chill out area/relaxing & sunbathing area. They provided the best in outdoor furniture, and outdoor fireplaces. Its absolutely amazing, and you will love it. Pure is located in Redmond, one of the safest cities to live in. Plus, Pure is a very secure building so you can expect to feel safe here. The neighbors are very lovely, polite, and friendly. The best part about PURE, and I'd say the most important part, is the management. Andy & Nicole are the best at what they do, and a great team. Along with Luis, they all work very hard to make sure your experience, of living here, is a good one. They have always responded quickly to any questions, or concerns I've had. They are kind, courteous, and caring. I also appreciate their efforts in creating a vibe here that is friendly, and fun. I love living here. Everything is brand new, and everyone is nice. It's the best, and I feel spoiled in every way. I definitely recommend living here. ??
The living room and bedroom are spacious with views that overlook a green belt area, along Bear Creek. It's not uncommon to spot deer grazing. The kitchen comes nicely equipped with stainless steel appliances. I was pleasantly surprised by how soundproof the walls are between each unit. The only drawback has been the loud traffic noise along Union Hill Rd. with the windows open. The residents lounge on the first floor is a nice hang out spot for tenants and their guests. Complete with a gourmet kitchen, pool table, shuffleboard table, gas fireplace, widescreen TV, and really nice furnishings. The workout room is nicely equipped with cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. The real gem of the Pure complex has to be the rooftop lounge. It's a large open space, great for hosting summer parties with its 2 large gas fire pits, gas grill, lounge chairs for sunbathing, and plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate multiple large groups at the same time. Quick access to 520 is like getting a fast pass at Disneyland to avoid standing in line. Getting around by foot is a breeze. Target, Fred Meyer, Home Depot, Kohls, and Safeway are all within walking distance, as is the Park n Ride. Redmond is known for its bike friendly trails, and there's a great one that starts only a block away, that connects you to Marymoore park, and the Sammamish River trail. There's a gated underground parking garage, along with street level covered parking along the backside of the building. You must pay extra for parking, so if you own more than one car this can be quite expensive. The complex is very safe and secure. The grounds are are well lit, and tenants are each given a key fob to gain access into the building. There's security cameras located throughout. You never have to worry about solicitors or guests showing up unannounced. This building is all new construction, and with that came a few kinks and glitches that still needed to be worked out. The management staff has been nothing short of responsive and on top of any issue that has ever arisen. Great community atmosphere. The tenants are all friendly and the apartment managers hold regular social events, with fun activities, drawings, and prizes. It's been a great way for new tenants to break the ice. I can't say enough about Nicole and Andy the apartment managers. They have always listened to my questions or concerns and have always done their best to accommodate whatever I need. All really good peeps here!
I was immediately drawn to Pure because of all the incentives and beautiful structure. We were able to score some great deals, which ultimately lead to us moving from our perfect apartment to a smaller location close to work. Within the first few weeks, my husband and I realized we made a big mistake. Management is HORRIBLE. The emails they send to us tenants are the most condescending things ever. They are very unprofessional and has created a hostile living environment. I purposely take the stairs or stay clear from the lobby till after their working hours. I had to mark the emails as spam so I wouldn't be subjected to their rude emails any longer. Living right next to the busy street also makes it unbearable. We constantly are awaken by alarms or sirens passing by. At night, we are unable to keep the window open because the street noise is SO loud. My recommendation is find another place. We are already counting down the months till our lease is up.
Very safe structure that is constantly stable because the city of Redmond had to make the building pass many tests to even receive a certificate of occupancy. The staff is incredible. The residents are the perfect neighbors. The area is great for Redmond and the prices match the quality. You can't go wrong with Pure.
Extremely unsafe structure that is constantly vibrating because of the proximity to the main roads as well as treble sound isolation there for you hear constant hamming sound thru the walls of your apartment caused by the ventilation system of the building.
