Property Ratings at Q @ Uptown
I have never met a more bubbly inviting and sweet manager, Lauren is amazing! Oh and the property is beautifully kept.
...and it's been great. My two roommates are also happy with everything. Management was able to move us into a unit within the space of the week, which I thought was going to be impossible anywhere. It saved me a commute from Santa Fe, and I was able to move in before I started working 70 hours a week. Of course, I was lucky that there was a unit ready for me. I want to clear up a few things I've seen in the other reviews. Management has been the same team since I moved in late May. I've had no problems communicating with management. Every time I put in a maintenance request, it is very promptly responded to. And the maintenance man is very friendly and professional. It's great that I can trust him to come into my home when I'm away. Oh yeah, there's free internet and cable. It took a while for a Comcast representative to meet me on a Saturday, but it eventually got installed, and now I enjoy fee high speed internet and cable. With WiFi. The online portal is amazing. Charges are very well broken down once you get to the right page. Sometimes the utilities take a while to post, but I've never been charged a late fee, let alone harassed about it. It's great that I can make a payment and my roommates can see what I've paid. The washer/dryer combo is as effective as it was engineered to be. It doesn't vent hot air, so no, it's not efficient in drying. But an alternative would be no washer/dryer amenity at all. If you're expecting to use it like the washers and dryers at a laundry mat, or a house, you'll obviously be disappointed. My roommate uses it EVERY day to wash and dry. In Europe where people live in small spaces and not McMansions, ventless dryers are the norm. As others have said, I am very grateful that pet policies are enforced, all of which have been extremely clear to be since before I signed my lease. The well kept landscaping is very well done, and it's pleasant that out my windows there are plants, and not just concrete and stucco. I have not had problems with parking, although clearly others have. I've seen steps to address this in the last few weeks, as management has contracted with a towing company and has posted the appropriate signs to deal with "bogie" cars. The gates sometimes malfunction because, somehow, PEOPLE KEEP HITTING THEM. And by people, I mean residents here. All of my appliances were new when I moved in to the freshly renovated apartment.
I have lived here for 2 months now. Sure the apartments look nice but they are very poorly and cheaply built. The paint is literally chipping off my walls and there are so many spots that weren't actually painted when I moved in. Management is the absolute worst I've ever experienced. I didn't get a key to mailbox until about 2 weeks ago because the manager wouldn't respond to my multiple requests for a copy of my lease. When I finally showed up in person to get it, I discovered she had actually LOST my lease. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?? Every single time I try to get in contact with the Lauren, the manager, I get no response. I text her and she leaves me on read. Super professional. I moved in here specifically because of their pet policy but now pets aren't allowed on the grass, only a roughly 6 foot by 6 foot pet "run" that has only rocks in it. My dog won't use the restroom in it because she is trained to only go in the grass. I have to actually take my dog to a park nearby every time she needs to go out. WHY am I paying this much money for this nonsense?? Maintenance is essentially nonexistent. I put in a work request for my washer/dryer combo to be fixed and no one ever showed up to fix it. I had to do it myself. I haven't so much as seen the maintenance man in about a month anywhere on the property. Speaking of the washer/dryer combo, it's the worst invention in the history of mankind. You can wash about 2 shirts at a time before its full and it takes an entire 4 hours to do one load of laundry. On to the tenant portal: it's awful. I pay my rent on time every month but for whatever reason, random charges for anywhere from $20-$200 appear on my account. I can't tell what is what. I don't know how much my utilities are and I don't have any way of finding out because, like I said, the manager is the actual worst. I never get any notifications when I have charges due that have been added on so I have no idea about them and suddenly they're late. I just moved to New Mexico but I have had the absolute worst experience in this complex and it has soured my entire time here. I would not advise anyone to move here no matter how pretty it is, especially if you have a dog. I've lived in a bunch of different apartment complexes but this one is hands down the worst one. All in all, don't move here, you'll be much happier literally anywhere else.
Have lived here for 2mths. Love my townhouse. Its been renovated with granite counter tops & wood floors. Very nice! Plenty of room for me & my kiddo. Love having a pool in this desert heat & the park nearby is nice. The property manager has been wonderful. She has been very helpful, not only with a few minor issues, but with recommendations on stuff to do & see in Albuquerque. I'd recommend joining this community if you are new to the area.
Ignore everything you see up there about the amenities. I've been waiting for the pool to open since July 2017. There is no 24/7 access yoga studio, just one class a week at a different complex. The BBQ is used by the residents of one unit, because they leave it filthy. Parking is a nightmare. There are numerous guests, friends, and relatives who park in the clearly designated tenant spots. One of these guests (illegally) uses one of two ADA accessible spaces in the complex. The secure gates are frequently left open. There is no division between the 22 units in the Q from the 40 or so units in another complex immediately to the west. You're not getting the small, private, secure community described in the listing. None of the units are furnished. The washer/dryer is one unit. As in you wash and (sort of) dry your clothes in the same tub. The fan over my oven vents back into the room. More than a few of the appliances advertised as new, are definitely not, including the AC unit I listed on my original move in check list that has never been fixed. We've had three different property managers since I moved in. None of them has shared any information with the others, resulting in utility overcharges and mismanagement of funds. There is no complex wide wifi. You'll have to deal with Comcast yourself. But all your other utilities will be posted to your account with no real explanation or break down. The newest property manager is not pleasant and replaced the previous management with zero notice. My tenant portals have been shut down, making it impossible to keep a full and accurate account of my money. As of writing this, I should have a balance in my favor. Instead I have late charges and rude demands from a woman who couldn't even be bothered to leave contact information with her introduction letter. She's even threatened to "give me a notice" because my dog doesn't like having strangers (completely unknown pair of people, the agent didn't even bother to introduce herself) sneak up behind him as he is attempting to get into OUR home. The complex explicitly allows large dogs. I pay rent for my dog. I was attempting to get my account straighten out. Instead I got lectured, like a child, about my dog, my car, and when I was going to pay the rent I've already paid. I thought the place was great when I first moved it. Then it was horrible. Then it got better for about four months. And now I'm back to being miserable in my misrepresented, costly prison.
My family just moved into The Q Apartments and we are really happy. They have a brand new pool with a wood porch next to a gas fire pit which sealed it for us. The townhomes style apartment is really nice and lots of room. The bedrooms are large and have a hatch in the ceiling in the living room that opens so that you can move your mattress and box spring straight into the room. You have to see to believe it. Anyways if you visit it's over and I'll see you around.
