Mountlake Terrace is a fairly small city of around 20,000 residents near the northern shore of Lake Washington. I-5 runs right through the middle of town, putting downtown Seattle less than thirty minutes away. Living in Mountlake Terrace puts you in a great position to explore the natural wonders of Washington State, particularly the sprawling Cascade Mountain nature preserves to the east. Ferry service across Puget Sound makes it easy to reach to Olympic Peninsula as well, allowing for weekend trips to Olympic National Park and the ocean.
There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation closer to home, whether that means spending an afternoon at Lake Ballinger or bringing your dog to the parkland around Lyon Creek. Houses and apartments in the northwest portion of the city have the most convenient access to the Premera offices.

Property Ratings at Quartz Creek
Lots of negatives. No real positives. 1. Appliances are old and inefficient. Don't be fooled by the pics online, make sure you actually tour the unit you want. The oven does not sit flat. If you use the stovetop you know what a pain this causes. 2. Heaters and windows are old and poorly located, meaning high heating costs. 3. Residents are loud at night. Buy a white noise machine. 4. Parents let their kids scream and argue on the play structure. It echoes based on where it is located. 5. Dumpsters are always overflowing and trash blows around. Garbage bill is shared with all the residents so you are always paying for people illegally throwing their old mattresses and furniture in the dumpsters. People don't bag their trash so the wind and birds and squirrels spread it everywhere. 6. Recycling bins are always filled with trash, so they are not taken to the recycling center. 7. People don't pick up after their dogs and let them pee wherever. You can't walk in the grass it's so bad. The dog park is equally gross. 8. They advertise having a hot tub but it has been locked since at least 2020. And no, they won't reduce your rent because it's "just temporarily out of order". 9. Seems like there is a new maintenance worker every six months. They are so busy picking up trash they don't have time to fix stuff. 10. The office will not accept packages from USPS, so if it doesn't fit in your envelope sized mailbox, you have to drive to the post office in MLT and pick up your package in person. Every. Single. Time. During business hours of course. 11. The area had terrible cell signal. There are sometimes days at a time without signal. Maybe you'll have better signal. Just be sure to check. 12. Random vans camp out overnight in the parking lot like it's a rest area. 13. It's a smoke free property but probably half the residents smoke outside their doors. Just be aware in case you are sensitive to that or don't care for the smell of marijuana. 14. Get everything in writing. The front office employee changed several times. 15. They have a sign that always advertises that there are available units. Now you know why. 16. Nothing improves and they'll raise your rent every year.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! The management team is nothing but crooks and con artists. This is the most expensive place to live and there are absolutely no amenities in this for you. We moved here in 2016 last year when it was the Boulders. They were excellent in comparison to the people that bought the place and soon after changed the name to QUARTZ CREEK. The following is a list of things that had happened to us and that we observed that made us and others unhappy. 1. Management was very untactful to the tenants and very mean and rude. Shame on you! You do not treat people like that!!!! There is no excuse for bad customer service when you are in the field of Real Estate and leasing apartments. Terrible!!!! 2. Dirty parking lots all of the time, garbage was never picked up and was all over the parking lot areas, as were, cigarette butts and other items laying at tenants doorsteps that did not even smoke. Nothing was ever done to clean the areas or tell people that was not okay to do. 3. Dark parking lots. Very dimly lit parking lots. Take your flashlight when going to your car at night. 4. Car break ins. My car was broke into twice, I reported it but nothing was ever sent around to warn other tenants that this was occurring. 5. A lot of drugs, watch your children. 6. Police and security had been called many times for certain residents that were not obeying the rules after hours with noise levels and nothing was done by management ever to stop it. This occurred to us and to others that I had talked to. 7. You will not get a deposit back when you move, don’t expect it. They will not refund anything and they will even charge you more money after you move out. We cleaned the place up and got nothing but a collection bill for more money. 8. The rating is one to five stars. They deserve no stars. Now we are at a fantastic place and are so much happier. Much cheaper and we have the best management team and really sweet respectable tenants as well. Please look around before you choose Quartz Creek in Mountlake Terrace. There are so many other nicer places surrounding that area that are about 2 to 300 dollars cheaper and have nicer management that will meet your needs.

Good Morning, Since new ownership has taken over we have been renovating the entire community from the ground up including the gym. We have brand new PRECOR fitness equipment and the gym is now open to our residents. The spa is still getting a new face lift and will be up and running soon. The carports and breezeways have received new brighter lighting with updated LED lights. This is an ongoing project and the improvements the entire community has seen has taken time, but overall the condition of the property has dramatically increased with new management. We have a brand new office staff that emphasizes excellent customer service to new prospects and our current residents. We are wanting to make Quartz Creek a wonderful place for all to rest their head at night and we want everyone to enjoy living here. If you have any concerns I am open to meeting with you and we can discuss how we can make your living experiences a joyful one. In regards to safety, we have worked closely with courtesy patrol and greatly improved our security. The area struggled with vagrants this summer, and since Pacific Living has taken over, there is almost no sign of transient activity. We are grateful for your feedback, and hope you would come take a look at how far along the property is now. Sincerely, Your dedicated team at Quartz Creek.
There is no assigned parking for any unit, unless you pay $20 extra. Be prepared to park up to several blocks away on the street on any given evening. The amenities that they state they have are broken or always "closed" for some reason. The 'gym' is a treadmill, an elliptical and a recumbent bike. The TVs in them do not work, nor does the headphone plugins. The weight machine is broken and has one makeshift rope attachment. There are free weights that weight 25,30 and 35 pounds and a few medicine balls. Lame. The hot tub is always closed for some reason. It is not open after the office is closed, but it's always closed no matter what. There is always trash around the dumpsters. Bags and bags of it. Mostly this place used to be nice and now it's kind of dumpy and expensive. Management has been nice however. My apartment smells terribly of mold and is so loud that I think my upstairs neighbors are elephants. Given the choice again; I would never have moved here.
Apts are clean and quite. I like them, the down side is there is no pool... But other then that everything is great. They even have a gym.
