Infested with Bugs
Where do I even start? Cons: Major cockroach infestation. Ongoing bed bug battles. Poor construction. Holes in the walls. Get used to the smell of urine (thank goodness for masks). Filthy. Janky elevators Frequent staff changes (one manager even quit on his lunch break!). Boiler leaks/flooding/water seeping out of walls. Recycling bins are a joke here | Pros: Security guard. Good water pressure. Unlimited hot water. Air conditioning.

Nice Apartments in Downtown
Slightly newer construction in downtown, where many buildings are older. While that may lose some of the charm, it affords you other things (A/C! Washer/Dryer in unit!) which are pretty nice. It is more affordable than other downtown apartments, though still definitely not cheap. Overall pretty nice, if on the smaller size for the units. As with any apartment, there is always the risk of a noisy neighbor but what are you gonna do. That comes with apartment living. In Pioneer Square which has had a recent business/restaurant boom, so there is lots to do.
