Property Ratings at Ranch Lake Apartments
I have lived here for 3 years. One bedroom, second floor. I love the convenience of the highway and being able to walk to Walmart if needed. Maintenance and leasing people are excellent, never have had a problem. Trash is hit or miss. Depending on what day you go, it could be pretty overfilled. The parking used to be worse but it’s gotten better in the last year. The only thing (if I was to nitpick) is the side gate never works, if it’s closed it doesn’t open and if it’s open at night, whats the point? I get Amazon and Uber eats deliveries frequently and in 3 years only one has been lost. All in all, a solid place to live.
It was only supposed to be one year and ended up being five. I have nothing bad to say about this place. We met many wonderful neighbors, it was always quiet w no issues, landscaping and maintenance is constant. We never had a bug issue. Leasing staff always available. We never really took advantage of the amenities but they are all newly remodeled and nice. Location is perfect to the interstate, schools, shopping, restaurants. ER right down the street, hospital also very close. It was hard to leave until we found a permanent home. Thank you all for being so good to us.
I will begin by saying that Wendy at the above named property is the only one there that should be there. When I first moved into my apartment, I thought I was in a place that had an awesome staff and was a beautiful place to live, didnt take long for that all to change. I have a cat, she was 16 years old when I moved in, I paid $25 a month for her living in the apartment and a non-refundable pet fee. She spent the first six months of living there under my bed, she hardly moved from that spot. My upstairs neighbors had 3 dogs and a cat living above me. I complained about them constantly. The owner would allow the dogs to jump on and off the bed, run around, starting at 11pm every night. One of the dogs was so big, the jumping and running kept knocking my pictures off of the wall. They barked quite often as well. I first asked if I could move to a top floor and of course was told I could if I pay this fee then this fee, etc. I kept calling and sending emails and pictures to tell them how bad it was. It went on for hours during the night, which was during quiet hours. This went on for 6 months, then leasing office offers me a bottom floor apartment, I said no thank you, I only want a top one, all of this could happen all over again. They offered the above neighbor a bottom floor and they moved. One week after that, my cat, that spent 6 months under my bed, finally came out and enjoyed the left over time I had on my lease. BTW, another tenant rented above me and they had a dog and I hardly Ever heard it. I have since moved and do love where I live, but I main complaint was that, the leasing office didn’t even pursue about how many animals were above me. I paid $25 a month for a cat that didn’t live in more than a one foot area and a non-refundable pet deposit, which was not fair at all to me or her. There was so many things that got overlooked and never got solved. Dogs at the pool, trash EVERYWHERE, the trash disposal place always looked like a dump. I again paid good money for all of this. I sent this letter to their main office in Massachusetts and have not heard back from them as of yet. I do realize apartment complexes are in the profit making business but if profit is all that you care about, you will lose good residents. And word of mouth is a powerful tool!
Where do I begin? Lived on the 1st floor and was constantly calling to get my home sprayed for bugs. Bugs coming up through the sinks! My upstairs neighbors had an over the weight limit dog. Owners constantly playing with dog during quiet hours, leasing office did nothing. Then of course came the complaints about me supposedly doing something. Dogs at pool area most weekends, nothing done. Parties at pool almost every weekend, nothing done. Leasing office just sends out notices/emails to all residence asking them not to do it! Signal 88 comes through and just drives around one area then leaves. Everyone having issues with packages being delivered. This place does NOT take your orders from Amazon, etc. So the delivery company just leaves your boxes at random apartments. Christmas time is BEYOND terrible.
I've been living at Ranch Lake Apartments for 18 months now, and I may never move. The quiet location gives me a great place to walk my Husky. I love that they take large dogs, and the dog park is convenient and a great place to meet my neighbors. The maintenance team takes care of issues quickly. The gates are nice and never broken. I can walk to buy groceries, or eat a nice dinner at the nearby shopping center. I highly recommend these apartments.
I will sum this up for you. I just moved in a week ago. I am moving out as soon as possible. If you move here, you better have ear plugs. I will be writing a letter to the county about this.

I am so sorry to hear about your experience. If your neighbors are causing you noise trouble, please contact the office at 941.896.8886 or email leasing@ranchlakeapartments.com so we can help you resolve this problem. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it and turn this experience around!
I never moved into these apartments. I never will. The reason is because the way management treated me. I scheduled an appointment to view their apartments and when I showed up I had to wait 10 minutes until the guy was done with his personal phone call. Once greeted, there was no paperwork stating I had even made an appointment. Rudely, the man took me outside to wait for him to bring back a golf cart. This took 10 minutes. Once he finally came back we went to view the apartments. Before we got into the building there was an old man asking the gentleman I was with where they can throw out their trash. The agent rudely told the old man he had to bring it himself to the dumpster which there was only one and it was no where near this old mans apartment building. I could tell the walls were super thin since I could hear neighbors stomping around and blasting their tv. The man would not stop trying so hard to sell me the place and by sell me I mean, "this is so great isn't it?"..."the neighbors give this place great character." Needless to say, I never went back. The worst part of it all was that the same agent kept leaving me voicemails for weeks after my visit telling me he needed me to sign paperwork as well as my lease. No thank you.

I moved from NY to Florida this past month. This apartment alone will keep me in the sunshine state! Before moving in, the facility was so helpful in answering all of my question about this dog friendly apartment community. Since I was moving from so far away I needed to use PODs to move my things. Unlike many places I've been before, this community allowed the POD to be dropped off right in front of my building. When I got here on my first night I was treated with a care package which included items like toilet paper, dish soap, a generic shower curtain and much more. This was very helpful since all my things were not yet delivered. I have now been able to enjoy the community pool, tennis court, basketball court, leash less dog run, game room, community club house all the while feeling safe in a gated community. The grounds keepers even keep dog treats on hand for friendly pups! Oh did I mention the apartment is in driving distance to Lido Beach and world famous Siesta Key! I'm never going back to th Noth East after this great apartment (community) experience!

We are so happy to hear about your great experience! We take pride in our beautiful community and our customer care. We hope you stay with us for a while!
Ranch lake apartments are about 1yr old and a real nice. The office and maintenance staff are very nice and friendly here. On move in, my fiancé and I turned in our move check list with what was wrong and the next day they were here to fix the issues. The apartment is a little on the pricy end but it is very nice and updated and the amenities are great, so we are getting what we pay for!!

Don't bother -- The office staff is unprepared and unprofessional to say the least. They offer "specials," but find weak loopholes in order to not pay out for them. Not only is this infuriating, but when you speak to them about it, they are nothing short of abhorrently rude to you. When you go in with a complaint/maintenance issue, the front office staff rarely writes anything down, yet they act surprised when nothing is completed as you asked. Upon move-in, I noticed one of my appliances wasn't functional. I alerted maintenance immediately but the issue wasn't resolved until 3-days later when I had to call and ask why it still wasn't done. The front office had no record of the issue and scrambled to get it taken care of that day. The apartment itself is pleasing to the eye, but the walls are paper thin. I can hear my neighbors fighting, talking, showering, going to the restroom, etc. There is zero privacy here. The first floor units have completely unprotected patio areas. The parking lot leads directly to a sliding glass door entrance to your living room; no screens/fences/etc. Before signing my lease, a member of the office team mentioned in passing that they were in the process of checking all the first floor sliding glass doors because they were easily pulled off of their tracks. That...is terrifying. Especially for an apartment complex who hasn't finished installing their front gate. If you choose Verizon FiOs in lieu of Brighthouse, you're taking a gamble. The wiring in the building was installed incorrectly (direct quote from FiOs installation), so the tech's are unable to run new wires through to individual apartments if there happens to be a dead wire. This was my issue. When I approached the front office about this, they said they would take care of it and call me within the next business day. I received no calls with a solution. A week later, I called the front office and asked for the Verizon rep's number. I ended up handling the issue myself. What took them an infinite amount of time to fix, I handled within the matter of 48hrs. I never told the front desk that my issue was resolved and yet, a month later, they still haven't called me with any "updates." The amenities serve to fool you into believing you're receiving value. The special offers are designed to bait you into biting that sharp hook before they yank it through your cheek. The apartments are built to give you the illusion of safety and security. But, the reality is nobody knows what they're doing. Nearly every time I go to the front office, there's a current resident complaining about something here. It's becoming a bit of a nightmare and I don't see how that is going to change.
